JISNE MUJHE PYAAR KARNA SIKHA DIYA – CHAPTER 11

The next few days passed smoothly. Twinkle adjusted herself properly at Kunj’s home. By now she had made her room like she loves. She has also build a small temple in her room. Both were living like house mates but hardly use to talk. After that party also Kunj took her to a charity function where they was no dancing required. Both hardly talked to each other at the event. Kunj daily routine was, he always uses to leave for work early before Twinkle woke up and came home late at night. Twinkle was unable to understand why he work so much but thought it would be best not to disturb him when he returns home after working so hard.

This morning Twinkle woke up early. She had difficult time sleeping and finally gave up the idea of sleeping till late. She got ready in a simple kurti and plazzo. She began to go down but stopped in a midway thinking about Kunj whether he getting ready for office or sleeping. She thought to go and see but then dropped the idea to disturb him. She started climbing down the stairs and again stopped in a mid-way to go and have a look for Kunj but hesitated thinking he might be sleeping and she will disturb him. She after thinking finally reached Kunj’s door but before knocking she thought to hear some movements to know whether he is awake or not. She heard nothing but finally made a decision to knock the door. She knocked and Kunj opened the door to find Twinkle on the door.

Kunj- Good Morning Twinkle. Come in

Twinkle- Good Morning Kunj.

Kunj- Twinkle its good you woke up early. I actually wanted to talk to you.

He opened the door fully and asked her to step in. She walked in and Kunj closed the door. He was half dressed, getting to ready to go to office. He was in his pants and the shirt was half tucked in and half of shirt buttons were closed revealing his sculpted chest. Twinkle glanced at Kunj for a moment but bowed her head down. After some time when she looked up, she observed the bedroom. It was a very big room, with a king size bed and some beautiful curtain with a lounge and a mini office at the corner for Kunj to work. She was just in awe at the moment as she has never seen such a big bedroom in her life. The room was biggest in the whole house. She completely forgot that Kunj wanted to talk to her, she was just busy in looking the room. Kunj tried to get her attention.

Twinkle- Kunj called her

Twinkle- Oh ya, am sorry, you wanted to discuss something?

Kunj- I wanted to discuss about US.

Twinkle was a bit surprised as what Kunj wanted to discuss about.

Kunj- Twinkle we need to figure this out about us.

Twinkle- What are you trying to say I am not able to understand?

Kunj- See Twinkle, for the world we are legally husband and wife but, in reality we are not. We are living in separate rooms just like house mates. We don’t love each other. We hardly talk to each other and we hardly know each. There is nothing like husband and wife thing between us. So, who are we, what relationship is there between us?

Twinkle- I don’t know, may be friends? She said understanding Kunj’s concern. The relationship they are living is not defined. They actually need to define their relationship and take their future seriously but when Kunj expressed his feelings even Twinkle started to think and she defined the relationship as “FRIENDS”.

Kunj- Friends? Just friends, Twinkle? Kunj asked in disbelief.

Twinkle- Well….even I don’t know how else to define us?

Kunj- Ok…then what about babies? Don’t you want to have baby?

Twinkle’s mouth was open listening to Kunj. She was not expecting him to bring this topic. Before getting married to Kunj she had a dream of having a cute little family. A loving and caring husband and one son then a daughter but all her dreams were shattered the way she got married to Kunj. When Kunj brought this topic she immediately turned her face away not wanting to face Kunj as she does not want to break in front of him. On seeing Twinkle’s reaction Kunj regretted asking her this question.

Kunj- Twinkle, I di…

Twinkle- Yes, I wanted kids.

Kunj- Wanted, not anymore?

Twinkle- Kunj we can’t have kids. We are not even husband and wife. We don’t love each other.

Kunj- Twinkle, we can. We can Twinkle, in fact we can do anything we want.

Twinkle very sternly- No I don’t want to.

Kunj- You don’t want to have kids or you don’t want to have kids with me? Kunj asked angrily.

Twinkle said nothing just bowed her head down. Kunj understood her answer. Even he was not ready to have kids any time soon, but he did eventually. The thing just made him angrier that Twinkle don’t want to have kids with him. He just got up from his bed started to move out of his room but turned back and asked her furiously.

Kunj- Twinkle, to what extent does our relationship as husband and wife will go. You don’t want to have kids with me. Will you take care of me if I fall sick? Would you oblige if I forbid you from doing something?

Twinkle- Why are you asking like that, I will definitely take care of you and will obey everything you ask me.

Kunj- Then what about physically. Am I your husband or just friend. Can I hold your hand in public or kiss you? We are married right so is it not your responsibility to fulfill this responsibility. Shouldn’t we act as husband and wife in front of others and at home too? – Kunj asked very loudly. He was aware that he was treading on dangerous ground, but he felt that the questions need to be answered.

Twinkle was shocked. She too was angry now. She just thought how dare Kunj treat her like that. She was his wife not slave that he will behave that way. She has not given him this right.

Twinkle- I…. I don’t know……I have never done anything like this. She was not able to understand what to speak. She also doesn’t have any answers of Kunj and she was getting very uncomfortable, the type of questions Kunj was putting forth. Kunj was quiet and was waiting for Twinkle to answer.

Twinkle- Kunj, right now I want to be the best wife who can take care of all other needs, not these types of needs. I am sorry, I can’t satisfy these kinds of needs. She said looking away as she was very embarrassed.

Kunj- What if another woman did? Kunj asked maliciously.

Twinkle was shocked listening this statement. She was speechless to what Kunj said to her. How could he be so insensitive?

Twinkle- What if I would have asked you the same thing? Would you let another man come to me to satisfy me needs? Twinkle asked infuriated with Kunj’s question.

Kunj- You wouldn’t need another man Twinkle to satisfy your needs. I am ready to satisfy you in any way you want.

Twinkle- We are not in love, Kunj. It will not be right.

Kunj- Twinkle, if we were in love before marriage, you would have not allowed anything to happen before marriage. Right? Well, now that we are married, and anything that is happening in this room will be considered legitimate in the eyes of the world. So, I am sorry, whatever would happen will be considered right. Kunj voice raised as he spoke. The conversation went a way ahead than it should have been.

Twinkle started to tear up. She was growing frustrated after listening to what Kunj was speaking. She said- Kunj, please let’s not discuss this. She got up from her place and was about to leave the room wiping her tears from her eyes, but before she could leave Kunj grabbed her arms. She tried to pull away. Kunj loosened his grip but didn’t let her go.

Kunj- You tell me what should I do about us?

Twinkle- I don’t know Kunj please. Please leave me.

Kunj- No, first you answer me. Pulling her towards him.

Twinkle- I told you I don’t know. I have always wanted a husband who cared for me, someone who will fall in love with me. We would have a small happy family as in a perfect happy family but that is not what had happened, I am sorry I can’t be the wife you want Kunj. She exploded saying all this but she looked up and regretted to what she said. She braced herself for Kunj’s inevitable rage.

Kunj- You are right.

Twinkle- W… What?

Kunj- You are right Twinkle. Both of us didn’t wanted this. I wanted a modern wife. Nooo, I don’t even want a wife at all. You wanted a good guy, a much better guy than me. We both are totally opposite. Kunj admitted.

Twinkle- Kunj I am sorry. She didn’t know what else to say.

Kunj- No Twinkle, you are not at fault. Everything was fine I don’t know why I brought this topic.

Twinkle- We will figure out soon as we go.

Kunj- Hmm, that’s a good plan, but remember friend or husband am a jealous type. Kunj said with a smirk.

Twinkle- Don’t worry about anything Kunj- Smiled Twinkle

After their interesting discussion Kunj and Twinkle had breakfast with each other for the very first time since they got married. They just kept the conversation simple not touching any point of marriage. Once Kunj left, Twinkle decided to call Roshni. Maybe she can help her in the issue. After talking to her Roshni was in her place after half an hour.

Roshni- Hey Twinkle! Good you called me, I was getting so bored. She said as she entered.

Twinkle- Hi Roshni.

Roshni- So tell me, what happen?

Twinkle- How you know something has happened?

Roshni- Come on Twinkle, as sweet as you are, so definitely you are not going to call a friend just to hang out. Something is very wrong, now tell me.

Twinkle- Ummm….Well..

Roshni- You can share with me.

Twinkle- How you and Sid got married?

Roshni- Oh….I and Sid met through a common friend, later met casually with each other, fell in love and then we moved in together. We just got married two years back. I actually had commitment issues so that’s why.

Twinkle- You and Sid were in live in relationship like without marriage you were staying with each other?

Roshni- Oh, this is very normal here Twinkle. She said casually- So you and Kunj had arranged marriage? I never thought that “The Kunj Sarna” will have an arrange marriage and will settle like this, actually he was not even planning to get married.

Twinkle- Why not?

Roshni- He wasn’t the type of guy to stick around with just one woman. He never wanted to get married. It was only business and pleasure for him with zero responsibility.

Suddenly the argument that Kunj and Twinkle had made much more sense to Twinkle. He felt tied down because of Twinkle. He asked her to reject him not because he was marrying a stranger but he was not ready to take up this responsibility and when he suggested another woman……

Roshni- Twinkle, are you ok? Roshni interrupted Twinkle’s thoughts.

Twinkle- Yes, I am fine.

The doorbell rang before Roshni could speak anything more. Twinkle went to open the door.

Hi Twinkle Di!! A voice came as soon as Twinkle opened the door.

“Mahi?”
