I guess tomatoes & potatoes await me so I am leaving you all with Sona … Happy facing the veggies Sonakshi!!
SONA’S POV
So… ummm … how do I explain this … This is the most awkward situation I’ve been in, I am clueless how to react. Before I tell you what is happening in this not-so-normal-life of mine, I will make one thing clear… I don’t lie …
I am standing in an isolated place, it is the ruins of some houses which are standing since the time of the Raj. It is midnight. Juhi is holding onto my forearm, with a photocopy of my expressions pasted on her face & Elena is poking my elbow constantly as if trying to say something but I don’t want to react because right in front of me is standing a … a … A GHOST, which is not the worst part the worst part is what he is doing to Jatin & Dev
He is
….
….
….
My Dev
…
..
He is making Dev & Jatin dance on MAA DA LADLA & there dance is turning from a scared one to slightly funny to umm … should I say this? Well it looks a bit sensual now … No don’t get me wrong both of them are straight but you know how a bhartiya naari feels when it comes to the topic of a SAUTAN & here I am getting a male sautan which is a BIG NO NO
Has lo beta! But I have to stop them…
How do I fight with this ghost? Let them dance till I tell you how have I landed in this situation. The day was as normal as it could be but this Purushottam spoiled it. Purushottam is our milk man, he is honest when it comes to his business, I can guarantee that but never fall for his words he is the biggest liar in entire ASIA … He is our in-house Pheku
Yesterday he saw some ghosts dancing in these ruins on ‘ ZINGAAT’ & he claims that he fainted at the sight ( I would have died laughing seeing such a scene). After that he went around Mussoorie telling everyone about it. How did we fall prey to his words? Well, here’s the story
THAT DAY, AFTER WORK, ON OUR WAY BACK HOME
Elena: Nahi Shona … Aami shotti bolchi
Sona: I don’t believe this Ele
Elena: The milkman Purushottam has seen it
Sona: See I believe in ghost stories but I don’t believe him
Elena: You should have seen his face … Itna dara hua tha
Sona: He is a great actor
Dev: Kaun? Shaheer Sheikh? I know … Even I like his acting skills
Sona: Uffff Tauba!! Do you even know what we were talking about?
Dev: That you have the best husband in the world
Elena: Ignore him Sona … Meri baat sun … We can go there in the night & investigate
Dev: Mujhe bhi jana hai … Waise where do we have to go?
Sona: Why? Mr Know it all, You know everything, Don’t you?
Elena: My milkman … Purushottam … has seen ghosts on Pari Tibba
Dev: Yes & I’ve seen 2 aliens
Sona: Kaha? Kaha?
Dev: Yaha… in front of me the two of you … Who believes in ghosts yaar in the 21st century?
Elena: I do … ANY PROBLEM?
Dev: Accha … Keep quiet for some time Suman Aunty is calling …
Hello … Haan Aunty … Nahi we are just coming … Jatin & Juhi have arrived … That’s good … Whh … What did you say? Ghosts? Aunty, please don’t tell me that you believe in them! … Aunty it’s on the other side of Mussoorie … Fine, Fine… We are coming!
Sona: Ho gaya Popat! Let’s move now
BACK AT LADY BACCHAN’S HOUSE, ON HER FLOOR, IN HER LIVING ROOM
Juhi: Hi Elena!!
Elena: Juhi!!! Seeing you after a long time! Shaadi ke baad to mile hi nahi
Jatin: Seriously Juhi you are hijacking my friends now!! Hey everyone even I’m also here .
Sona: Hello Jatin
Jatin: Thanks Sona
Dev: What a reunion it is!! I wish Vicky was here too
LB: If Mr. Tripathi comes he’ll surely finish all the food that I’ve made for you … Mrs Roy, you should meet that guy once he didn’t had a stomach, he had a factory inside him to store whatever went inside his mouth
Jatin: Nahi ma’am, He has controlled his eating habits now, ab to 6 packs banake ghumta hai
Juhi: I want to see the 5 of you together again
Dev: Wait I’ll call him
As Dev was about to call him, he saw Elena looking down, nervously moving her fingers. Her face had turned pale
Sona: Call him
Dev: On second thoughts, I’ll call him afterwards
Elena smiled at him & then shifted her gaze towards the window. All this didn’t went unnoticed by me & I felt that I needed to enquire about this
Sona: Dev, am I missing out on something
Dev: We’ll talk about this later
I gave him a quizzical look, while Dev just smiled reassuringly
Juhi: I want to see all the places in Mussoorie, Elena you have been living here for a long time, you’ll be my tour guide
Elena: Yes ma’am
LB: I suggest you go in the morning, it’s not safe in the night, especially after what Purushottam had seen
Jatin: Even you believe in these stories ma’am, I mean Aunty?
LB: I had to
Dev: It’s sheer nonsense.
Sona: It isn’t nonsense Mr Devrath Dixit… But I don’t believe Purushottam … Let’s go & investigate now
Juhi: Ghost hunt! That sounds exciting!
Jatin: No, no one is going anywhere
Elena: Dar gaye Jattu?
LB: Hold on! Hold on! You can decide what to do after you listen to what I have to say
Dev: Theatrical effects ke liye I suggest we switch off the lights.
Sona: Wait, I’ll bring the torch… You can keep it below your face ma’am … That’ll make you look like a ghost
LB: Ms. Bose, I agree that I can’t detain you now but there are other ways to punish some out of discipline children
Jatin: Ma’am please keep the torch near your face
Dev: Please ma’am please
LB: I’ll agree to this stupid demand of yours if you promise that you’ll do what I say
Elena: Promise
LB: Shotti?
Sona & JuTin: Shotti
Dev: I smell something fishy
LB: I had just shifted to Mussoorie, my neighbor was an Anglo-Indian woman Mrs. Littlewoods
Juhi: Wo bhoot hogi, I am damn sure
LB: Don’t disturb me Mrs Roy, She was a friendly lady, we became friends quickly. She told me various stories about all that had happened in Mussoorie in the late 1960s… From murders to hill station ghosts she had all the news.
Sona: There are ghosts in Mussoorie
Elena: Yes Sona
LB: Do you want me to continue or should I leave?
Jatin: Chup baith yaar
LB: An Italian family had shifted to Mussoorie in those days. The man of the house was about my age, he was too grumpy. Many claimed that it was because his wife had left him a year after his marriage
Dev looked lovingly at Sona & gently whispered in her ears, “I don’t want to lose you ever.”
LB: Mr Dixit, It wasn’t due to romantic reasons … He got married in the age of 40 & his wife who was barely 22 died in a car accident. He couldn’t get married again & so remained angry all the time
Elena: He would have been a lonely man
LB: Not really, His nephew stayed with him. He was in his early teens. Someone told him the story about Pari Tibba
Jatin: This is the story of Pari Tibba … How could someone tell him his story before he lives it? It’s a big crap
LB: Pari Tibba is frequently struck by lightning; many have died & it was rumored to be haunted because of the high death toll … The kid demanded to go there but his uncle, the grumpy Italian man denied
Elena: Then?
LB: The boy went there all by himself at midnight & when the grumpy man knew about it he killed him, actually shot him dead at Pari Tibba
Juhi: Ohhh… So sad
LB: Hmm … his ghost is seen by many
Dev: Have you seen it?
LB: Nope but I have always wanted to. So
Sona: So?
LB: You should go for it
Juhi: We’ll go in the morning tomorrow
LB: No go right now
Elena: Abhi?
LB: It’s a punishment for interrupting me while I was narrating & saying that I’ll look like a ghost
Sona: But … Aaa… Aunty what if we die
LB: Oh! Don’t worry you can dance on Zingaat with the other ghosts
Jatin: Aunty… isse acchi to detention thi
LB: Do you want some tea/coffee?
Sona: Coffee
LB: Fine I’ll pack some for you all, Its cold outside & It is believed that when there is paranormal activity going around the temperature falls down drastically
With this she threw us out of her house
Dev: Nikal gayi hekadi teeno ladkion ki?
I wrapped my arms around him & we all began walking towards the ruins to meet the ghosts
PRECAP- SOME BHOOTIA LOVE
