JUST FICTION???
Hardly does anyone know my name. And those who do, certainly don’t remember it. Another thing is that, I am…. invisible. No. Not in the sense that people can’t see me. They can. And they do. To be accurate, they just don’t notice me. I always kind of, go unnoticed by people. Plenty of people see me, but seldom do they really notice me.
Therefore, people just don’t bother about me. They do and say anything and everything in front of me. I have been the witness of many events. Uncountable, actually. I have heard a million things and I have seen a billion things. Especially considering the fact that I am more than 105 years old. Yes, well, I’ve had an extraordinarily long life.
As a result, I know everything about independent India, as well as, the India of the pre-independence era. Especially about the lives of two people from the pre-independence era of my country, whom you have probably heard about. Anirudh and Bondita Roy Chowdhury. Yes. Barrister Babu Anirudh Roy Chowdhury and his wife, student, friend, and his reason to live, Barrister Babu Bondita Anirudh Roy Chowdhury. I know just about everything about them. I adored and admired them a lot. They were two of my most ideal role models.
I know about the numerous times they have saved each other; I know all about how their eternal, pious love developed; I know about their families; I know about the social stigmas they fought off; I know about the shackles of malpractices that they broke; I know about all the negativity they eradicated; I know all about the values they upheld. I know it all.
You may ask, how I know so much about them? The answer is simple. I’ve observed them closely. Not that I used to spy on them. It’s just that I lived in Tulsipur for a long, long time. And during that time, I got a bit attached to both of them, just by admiring them from a distance.
I was moved and deeply touched by their moral ethics and the fire of revolution within them. That’s why, I even used to follow them to Krishnanagar, whenever they went there. Because I wanted to witness their greatness in more depth and detail. I didn’t want to miss out on even a small fragment of their journey.
There was just something about them. They just had a magical aura around themselves. They were like fireflies, who emanated the light of knowledge and attracted people towards themselves.
Now, about me. I’m a simple human being. I used to live in Tulsipur. Now, though, I have shifted to Calcutta, which is, modern-day Kolkata. Believe it or not, I have been an active participant of many social movements and patriotic marches. Yet, no one ever specifically noticed me. And I’m quite content with that. Because you know what, I rather like remaining invisible and unseen. I’m happy in my own space. I’ve grown old, but my curiosity to observe my surroundings never died out.
I like to observe people, their activities, their evolution and social developments from afar. However, there are a few people, whom I’m particularly interested in. As I’ve already stated, that I know all about Barristers Anirudh and Bondita, I would also like to mention, that I maintain diaries about certain periods of my life. It was not long ago, when I visited Bombay, or modern-day Mumbai.
There, in a strange unexpected turn of events, I misplaced two of my diaries and lost them. The contents of those particular diaries, were all about the lives of Barrister Babu Anirudh and Barrister Babu Bondita. I did find the diaries and got them back. But it was already too late. Someone, or rather some people had already gone through the diaries!
There were three people if I remember correctly. One was Shashi. One was Sumeet. And one was Vaishali. And I know a secret about these three. Since they had got my diaries and I’m afraid they read the whole content, which no one knew about, I used to keep an eye on them, whenever I got the chance. Whenever I saw them, from a distance, I would always see them planning about something, scribbling something down and things like that. Which, now leads me to my secret.
You see, there’s something I know, which you all don’t know. There’s this TV serial called ‘Barrister Babu’ and it revolves around the entire journey of Barristers Anirudh and Bondita till they had their twins. I came across it recently. It is launched by a production house named Shashi Sumeet Productions.
You must have heard of it, or watched it. Isn’t it? Now, in all honesty, tell me, did you know, everything shown there is one hundred percent true? You didn’t, right? But yes. It’s all true! I know it. Because I have seen it all through my own eyes. I mean, I used to live in Tulsipur for the first 40 years of my life!
So you see, the ones who are credited for coming up with the concept, and creating the story, have actually stolen the entire idea from my diary entries. Shashi, Sumeet and Vaishali. I managed to watch all the episodes of this show, once. And they told me nothing which I already didn’t know. It was like the incidents were getting replayed in front of my eyes. Only, all the people looked different. And the story was incomplete. It only covered the journey of Anirudh and Bondita Roy Chowdhury, till they had their twins. But it’s me, who is the witness of their whole journey and I feel quite proud of it.
But, because it’s a TV show, everyone believes, that it’s all just fiction. However, it’s not. And only I know that. Because only I have managed to live this long. Shashi, Sumeet and Vaishali have done their job well. Especially Shashi and Sumeet who were mainly responsible for launching this show. One of these days, I just might approach these three, and tell them that I know the truth. But they don’t need to worry. I won’t tell everyone about it.
I have a very good reason to keep this a secret. That is, since people barely bother about my existence, they would hardly believe this crazy tale of mine. And I don’t want to draw attention towards myself.
Now, you may wonder, if I don’t want to tell anyone and keep my secret, then why am I writing this down? Simple. No one’s going to believe me! Plus, nowhere have I written my name. So no one knows who I am. They’ll think that this tale of mine is also, just fiction, like that TV show. But is it all really just fiction? Not for me. It was never just fiction.
Author’s Notes (A/N): Hey lovely readers!!!❤️… So……. How’s this concept?
I bet you’ve never read such an absurd and strange fanfiction on AniDita, isn’t it?😜…
This is my speculation about, what if Barrister Babu was a true story. And what if there was someone who witnessed their entire journey and got to know about the show😁😅… That person HAS to have a long life.
Now, you can imagine anyone to be that character. You can give any name to this character.
And do comment and tell me, how you find this ff of mine? 😉… I would love to know your honest reviews 😇….
Love you loads 💙💛…
