Chapter 33
Because I like you !!
Karthik sat on the bed waiting for Naira to come out of the washroom. She had been in there for about an hour now. He was growing impatient by the minute. What was taking so long ?!!
He raised his head when he heard the door open. His mouth hung open a little seeing Naira emerging out of the washroom in the same blue color saree he had thought to buy for her.
His fingers had ached to buy that saree at the mall, but he had controlled his urge presuming that she would be mad at him. He didn’t even know what colour or what type of clothes she liked. He was just nervous about the whole thing and so he had let it be.
But now he was just spell bound after seeing her in his choice of saree. Blue was his favourite colour and it suited her really well. She looked out of this world. The next task for Karthik was to complement her without making it awkward for both of them.
The blue colour plain crape saree with silver shimmer border brightened her skin. He bit his lower lip to stop the smile rising on her face watching her perfectly arranged pleats.
It took him back to the memories of the very first day of their marriage. When she was struggling with her saree and he had helped her. They had surely come a long way from then.
Naira blushed a bit because of his burning stare on her and turned to face the mirror. She had wanted to please him, and by the looks of it he was impressed. The way he was looking at her added a tinge of extra glow to her face.
“Thanks.” Karthik murmured and then immediately composed himself. He frowned at her. She raised her eyebrows questioning him from the mirror.
“Why did you buy this saree ?!!” He asked her.
“Because you had wanted to buy it for me. Why didn’t you ?!!” Naira asked him further.
“I was afraid whether you will like it or not.” Karthik answered.
“How can I not like your choice, when I like you.” Naira said and walked out of the room with a wink.
While Karthik stood there shocked. But as soon as the fact registered in his head, he blushed red to his core.

Keerti smiled at Naksh who was hugging her from back. He was making her wear the bangles.
“I love bangles and the sound that they make.” Naksh said.
“I know patidev. That’s why I am wearing them.” She said and kissed his cheek.
Naksh smiled and hugged her more tightly. After both of them were done getting ready, they walked towards the living room where the Godh Bharai function was to be held.
The Godh Bharai function was carried out with a lot of happiness and fun. Everyone had fun and blessed Keerti and Naksh for all that they want. The couple was also blessed with a lot of gifts.
After the Function was over, the singhania’s went towards their car. Akshara and Naitik were standing outside their car. Akshara sighed as she leaned on the car’s hood. Naitik turned to her and she gasped seeing tears in his eyes.
“What’s wrong Naitik ?!!” She asked him.
“Naira hates me Akshara. She loaths me.” Naitik said in a shivering voice.
“Its nothing like that.” Akshara said, trying to calm down her husband.
“No Akshara, she does. I can see it in her eyes. Even you are angry at me for marrying her off forcefully, right ?!!” He asked looking straight into her eyes. Words failed Akshara, because he was true.
“Seven years back, if you remember, I applied for a job in one of the textile companies in need of better salary.” Naitik said when Akshara didn’t respond.
“You must have been aware of the fact that how much I needed it. Actually, I was late for the interview because of an accident that occurred on my way. I stepped out of the car and decided to walk as the traffic jam didn’t clear for a long time. I started feeling dizzy because of the heat and fell unconscious. When I opened my eyes, I found myself in hospital with a man of nearly my age beside me. Tears came in my eyes when I realised that I missed the interview. The man asked me for the reason and I somehow felt like sharing it with him. After listening to me patiently, he called someone and 20 minutes later, I had the job letter in my hand. Then I learnt that he was one of the leading business man.” Naitik spoke at length.
“Was that Manish Goenka ?!!” Akshara guessed. Naitik nodded faintly.
“I said that I am owned to him for life time but he laughed playfully at that. So I promised him that I will fulfill his wish whenever he needs me. A few months ago, he came to our house. I thought that it was for something else but it turned out that he wanted Naira to marry Karthik. I begged him not to do this but he seemed so stubborn.” Naitik said.
He took a deep breath in. When her cheeks became wet, Akshara realised that she is crying. She had misunderstood her husband all this while. He had his own reasons. How could she even think that Naitik would harm his princess willingly ?!!
“I wasn’t a weak person, Akshara. I got details about Karthik’s past, about his nature and everything and then made a decision of marrying him to our daughter. Of course he was a divorcee but I also knew that it was not because of him that his first marraige broke.” Naitik said.
“I was not wrong. Today when I saw Naira and Karthik together, happily accepting each other I was just on top of the world. They are perfect for each other. I know I forced Naira into this marraige because I knew that the Goenka family and Karthik were the best people to love and care for her. Please don’t hate me.” Naitik said, now totally broken.
“Me and Naira were surely angry at you but we never hated you. Karthik is surely a very nice boy. I am sure even Naira will forgive you soon and everything will be back to how it was.” She said, hugging her husband and comforting him.
“I wish, she does.” He hoped that everything will fall in its place soon.
Akshara and Naitik then wiped each others tears and got in the car. It was a long and tiring day for them. Naitik had spoken his heart out while Akshara was glad that her husband shared his pain with her.
Least they knew that Naira had eavesdropped their conversation as she had followed them out of the house to return Akshara’s handbag, which she had forgotten. Naira was now repenting badly for her behaviour and thoughts towards her father.
It’s true that every parent always wants the happiness for their children. Naira did understand it lately.

Hope you all liked this Chapter. Naitik’s secret is finally out and now even Naira knows about it. The next Chapter will have the gang embarking on their journey to Goa. So stay tuned as the Goa track will be shocking for sure.
I didn’t write much about the Godh Bharai function as I have never attended one and know nothing about it. Hope Everyone is ohkay with it.
