Chapter 42
The Obsessive Lover !!

Naira wipped the sweat off her forehead. She had gone out to the vegetable market to buy some veggies. As she was on her way back home, her car broke down. Which resulted in her walking back home with two bags in each of her hands.

After yesterday’s morning encounter, Karthik had forced her many a times to tell him the reason for her being uncomfortable but she just avoided him.

What was she suppossed to tell him ?!! That his business partner was her obsessive lover in college. Its not that Rithvik tried to make a pass at her or something but his eyes had some strange emotion that made her squirm around him.

As she kept on walking, she lifted her head feeling someone’s strong gaze on her. Standing infront of her was the cause of all her problems and stress. Rithvik !!

“Hello Naira.” He said stressing on ‘Naira’ and that didn’t sound good.

“Hii Rithvik.” Naira addressed and Rithvik smiled at her.

“Karthik doesn’t have any idea how innocent you are, right ?!! He doesn’t know how you play with other people’s emotions and still act all goody two shoes ?!!” Rithvik hissed, his smile disappearing.

“Look Rithvik…….” Naira started to say but was cut off by him.

“We both know that what I’ve said is right. You promised that you will wait for me. Then why ?!! Why did you marry Karthik ?!!” Rithvik asked. His pained voice made her feel guilty.

“Let me explain.” Naira said.

“Please don’t, I am in no mood of listening to any of your explations. You knew how much I loved you, how I could do anything for you. Look at me. I am here because of you, you wanted me to get settled financially, to do well professionaly. Thats why I worked so hard, so that you accept to marry me.” Rithvik confessed.

“I am really sorry Rithvik. I want to confess that I never had any feelings for you. I kept that condition to marry you not because I liked you but only to get rid of you.” Naira said and Rithvik stepped back gasping.

“To get rid of me ?!! Did I ever hurt you ?!! Did I ever force myself on you ?!! Just look at me, and tell me why did you want to get rid off me ?!!” Rithvik asked and held her by her shoulders making her look into his eyes.

“No Rithvik. You are a really good person but I was afraid by your obessession. I was scared of you. But then everything happens for good. See, you are here because of that condition. You are smart, rich and successfull.” Naira said.

Rithvik just shook his head. All these years, he dreamed of holding her hand and spending a lifetime with her but she just crushed his heart under her foot.

“May be I was a good person, Naira. But not now. You don’t have any idea, what you have got yourself into.” Rithvik threatened, anger dripping from his voice. Naira shievered at his words but put up a brave face.

“I was living my life with a hope of meeting you and then marrying you. I wanted to spend my whole life with you. With my Naira. She was so innocent and I know she loved me. What did you do to her ?!!” Rithvik asked.

“I never loved you Rithvik. Please try to understand.” Naira said.

Her words were hurting him. While she was helpless. How was she supposed to explaim him ?!! They stood in silence for a minute.

“Is it because you are married now ?!!” Rithvik asked her breaking the silence.

“What ?!!” She snapped back.

“You have changed because you are married now.” Rithvik said and Naira felt like slapping him but she controlled her rage.

“You don’t even know what you are talking. Firstly, I never loved you. Get that into your thick skull and Secondly, I am not the girl for you. There is some other girl in this world who deserves you and would love you back. She is the one for you, not me.” Naira almost shouted as she was turning angrier by the minute.

“You are the one for me and you will be, always be. We are perfect together.” Rithvik said, annoying her further.

“Look Rithvik, I am married now and leading a happy life with my husband.” Naira started to sat but was cut off by him.

“Happy life ?!!” He asked sarcastically weighing the words. While Naira just glared at him.

“No one can make you happy except me.” Rithvik said.

Naira opened her mouth to shout at him as he had crossed all the limits now but stopped when she sensed another person’s presence. Their heated conversation was disturbed by someone’s cough.

Both of them turned their heads to see a person leaning on the car, relaxed, with his arms and legs crossed.

I know it a damn late update and I am so sorry for it. I have turned very irregular nowadays but its because of my academics. I promise I would update daily as soon as my exams get over. Till then please bear with me.
