Recently, Bollywood luminary Karan Johar stirred a conversation when he shared a cryptic note addressing a mimicry act featured in a promotional clip of Madness Machayenge: Duniya Ko Hasayenge, a comedy show produced by a fellow industry member, Kettan Singh. While Singh has since extended an apology for the controversial act, another member of the show, Paritosh Tripathi, has stepped forward to offer his perspective.
In an interview with Hindustan Times, Paritosh Tripathi emphasized that the intention of the comedians on the show is solely to entertain and evoke laughter through their comedic talents. Addressing Kettan Singh’s mimicry act directed at Karan Johar, Tripathi underscored Singh’s admiration for Johar, suggesting that mimicry often stems from a place of deep respect and keen observation rather than malice. Tripathi clarified that the show’s objective is never to offend or hurt individuals, but rather to maintain a lighthearted and jovial atmosphere.
Tripathi further elucidated on the show’s approach, highlighting their penchant for playful banter and gentle ribbing, always mindful of boundaries and never crossing into offensive territory. He expressed the collective sentiment of the team, asserting their intention to convey to Karan Johar that no offense was intended and the act was executed in a spirit of harmless fun.
Promoting Sensitivity and Respect In light of the controversy, Tripathi assured that the team would exercise heightened sensitivity moving forward, ensuring that their comedic endeavors steer clear of causing discomfort or offense to anyone involved.
Karan Johar, in his response on social media, lamented the incident, expressing his disappointment at witnessing such a portrayal on television. Johar articulated his sadness rather than anger, highlighting the erosion of decency and respect in the entertainment landscape, especially from within the industry itself.
Ektaa Kapoor, another prominent figure in the film fraternity, echoed Johar’s sentiments, condemning what she described as “ugly humor” and offering her solidarity with Johar’s stance.
In the aftermath of the controversy, Kettan Singh issued a public apology to Karan Johar, acknowledging the misstep and expressing regret for any offense caused.
Amidst the debate surrounding comedy, mimicry, and artistic expression, this incident prompts reflection on the delicate balance between humor and sensitivity in the realm of entertainment.

Karan Johar should be the last person to open is mouth. He has always made fun of others but when it comes to him he is sensitive. If you cannot take it then don’t dish it. Keep your mouth shut.
