Karan Mehra, widely known for his iconic role as Naitik Singhania in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, is making a comeback to the small screen after nearly three years. His last appearance was a cameo in Shubharambh in 2020, and now he’s set to star in an upcoming show by Shashi and Sumeet Mittal. This new venture features Shruti Anand, known for her role in Mann Sundar, and Shehzad Shaikh as the lead couple. The family drama also includes Vibha Chibber and Ravi Gosain in the cast.
According to a source linked to the show, “Karan has been signed for a significant role, with Reema Worah joining to play his wife. Tentatively titled Mehendi Wala Ghar, the show revolves around a joint family, delving into the intricacies of their relationships.”
Karan Mehra’s television journey includes appearances in Bigg Boss 10 (2016), Khatmal E Ishq (2017), and Ek Bhram…Sarvagun Sampanna (2019). During his hiatus from Hindi TV, he ventured into Punjabi shows like Mawaan Thandiyan Chawan and Antakshari.
However, amid his career highs, Karan faced personal turmoil in 2021 regarding his marriage to Nisha Rawal. Nisha filed a complaint against Karan at Goregaon Police Station, leading to his arrest on May 31, 2021. Despite securing bail, allegations of infidelity and physical abuse were made against him. Karan, in response, held a press conference, alleging his estranged wife’s involvement in an extramarital affair and claimed to receive death threats along with his family from unknown sources.
The couple, who tied the knot in November 2012 after a six-year courtship, welcomed their son in June 2017. Nisha, also an actress known for her roles in Meet: Badlegi Duniya Ki Reet, Lock Upp, Kesar, Main Lakshmi Tere Aangan Ki, and Shaadi Mubarak, has been active in the industry despite the personal upheavals.
