Khushbu Thakkar joins the cast of ‘Suhaagan’ with an exciting role
Khushbu Thakkar, known for her roles in shows like Mose Chhal Kiye Jaaye, is set to make her entry into the cast of Suhaagan after the time leap. In her new role as Rose, Khushbu portrays a mischievous character in the series. Interestingly, she had initially auditioned for the character of Phoolwati bua but was later offered the role of Rose, Phoolwati’s daughter, after the deal fell through for the former character.
In a recent interview, the actress talked about it and expressed her enthusiasm for the younger role. Khushbu shared, “I thought, why not take up a younger character instead of playing an aunt or sister-in-law? In Suhaagan, Rose will be used by Phoolwati to execute mean tricks and harass the lead girls, Bindiya and Payal. It’s a Cinderella-like storyline where I will be shown as full of myself and determined to make Bindiya’s life miserable.”
While Khushbu has no qualms about portraying older or younger characters on screen, she emphasizes the importance of looking convincing in the role. With Suhaagan, she embraces the opportunity to play a character who is six years younger than her real age, finding it both rare and enjoyable. Additionally, the character of Rose offers her something different to explore, breaking away from the clichés associated with her previous roles.
Khushbu appreciates the chance to challenge stereotypes and expectations, mentioning that her character in Suhaagan is jealous but not insecure or underconfident. She hopes to showcase that not every curvy person fits the usual portrayal of being timid or lacking self-assurance. With her new role, Khushbu aims to bring depth and complexity to the character, while embracing the fun and excitement of playing a younger role on television.
