Info: Yuvan is Suhani and Yuvrajs son. Sayyam is not related to the Birlas at all. He is the son of a family friend.
Chapter 3 Sayyams POV
We arrived at Birla House. I looked at the house through the car window. It still looks the same as when I last saw it. The big mansion with many memories. The two strong pillars holding the house together reminded me of Suhani Aunty and Yuvraj uncle. They are the strong foundation keeping this family strong and happy.
I felt happy as this is where I had my good childhood memories.
‘Sayyam, let’s go’ Yuvan had got my bags out of the car. I got out and stared at the house, smiling. Flashbacks of my childhood were flashing before my eyes.
My happiness was disturbed. I felt someone knock into me. I turned round in anger ‘What the-‘
‘I-I’m sorry.’ It was Krishna. She was helping Yuvan carry my bags which are clearly too heavy for her. I watched her while she tried to carry my bags. She’s not changed at all, I thought to myself. She’s still clumsy and falling over everywhere.
She was still as pretty as when I last saw her and she is still as annoying as when I last saw her.
‘Krish, what are you doing?’ Yuvan said to her. I went over to her.
‘I told you not to touch my bags!’ I took the bags from her. My fingers touched hers and I felt something strange. It was like an electric current went through my fingers. I looked at her to see if she felt it too but she walked away.
We went into the house, everyone was so welcoming and so friendly. They made me feel a part of the family. I wasn’t used to this.
Suhani Aunty was always like my second mother, she was there for me when I needed her. She treated me the same as Yuvan. She hugged me so tight when she saw me.
‘Sayyam beta, I missed you so much, you left us so long ago and never came back. Did you forget us?’
‘I can never forget you all. You call me beta, you are like my mother.’
She gave me the mothers love I never received, the mothers love I have been longing since childhood.
‘Yuvan, take Sayyam to the guest room, he needs rest. He has had a long journey.’ Suhani Aunty said so sweetly.
‘No Aunty, it’s ok. I will stay in the outhouse.’
Yuvan helped me take my bags to the outhouse. Krishna was about to join us.
‘We don’t need your help!’ I said to her.
Yuvan helped me settle into the outhouse and we sat down with a cold drink to catch up. We had such a laugh, we had so much to catch up on. It was like I had never been away.
‘I’d better drop Krishna off home, it’s getting late.’ Yuvan was getting worried.
I didn’t realise how late it was, time flew by with us talking. It was 10pm.
‘So, what’s the deal with you and Krishna?’ I asked.
Krishna and Yuvan were close since childhood.
‘Nah, nothing, we’re friends.’ He said feeling embarrassed.
‘Come on Yuvan, you know how she feels about you. Even I can see it, she has loved you for years.’ I said.
‘We have been best friends for so long, I really care about her. She means a lot to me.’ I could see from his face expression how much she means to him.
‘I still don’t understand why you two have always hated each other,’ he looked confused at me.
I could hear Suhani Aunty calling us, we rushed over to Birla House. She told us that it’s late so Krishna is staying the night and will share with Yuvani, Yuvans twin sister.
‘Sayyam I’m going to crash now, I’m tired.’ Yuvan went to bed.
I went to the top floor and stood at the balcony.
It was quiet and peaceful. I closed my eyes and felt the cool breeze on my face. I missed this, I missed the feeling of belonging.
I heard the sound of footsteps in the garden. I opened my eyes.
It was her.
Krishna sat down on the bench in the garden with a hot drink.
I couldn’t help staring at her. She looked so beautiful. Those big brown eyes have so much innocence, her long silky brown hair was flowing in the direction of her beautiful pale soft skin.
She looked so sweet wearing a pale pink anarkali dress, wrapping herself with her dupatta as she felt cold.
I realised I was smiling while I was admiring her.
All those feelings from my childhood came flooding back. I have always liked Krishna. She is so sweet, caring and beautiful.
She always wanted Yuvan. He is the one she loves and he feels the same. They’re soulmates.
I am so horrible to her. I know this hurts her, it hurts me too.
But the only way I can deal with these feelings is to be horrible to her. I have tried to forget her. I chased after different girls to forget her, but none of them are like Krishna.
I lay on the bench on the balcony, gazing up at the stars. I thought these feelings disappeared when I moved away to London.
At the airport, as soon as I saw those eyes, I knew. I knew it was her. The feelings I tried to forget all those years ago resurfaced stronger than before…
Precap- Krishna decides to tell Yuvan how she feels about him.
