Shaheer Sheikh and Erica Fernandes will soon return with the third season of Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi. In a recent conversation with India Forums, Shaheer talked about the show, returning as Dev Dixit, chemistry with Erica, and more.
When asked about the massive success of the first two seasons the show and if they ever thought it will come such a long way, Shaheer said, “I loved the concept when it was first narrated to me and I honestly never think about the numbers or the success of a show. That’s not something I can control so I try not to bother about all that. I am always happy and grateful when I am offered a project that is exciting for me and I try and give it my all and live the character.”
Kuch Rang has changed the TV space. When asked about his take on this, he said, “I feel so fortunate that I got the opportunity to be a part of such a good show. It strengthens my belief that if your storytelling is good even a subtle and simple show can work on television & connect with the audience. ‘Kuch Rang…’ didn’t try to fit into any existing format/formula, it just told a simple, real and raw story with honesty & that’s what resonated with people. I’m so proud of it.”
Talking about his chemistry with Erica he said, “I feel we know each other so well and we support each other to perform better. It’s very important to have an equation with your co-actor because that definitely translates on-screen. I’m humbled that people have showered so much love on our pairing & I hope we are able to create the same magic once again.”
When asked about the USP of this season, Shaheer said, “Like the previous seasons, Kuch Rang had always explored the layers and complexities of relationships in a realistic & subtle manner. The nuances & the moments are all relatable as the characters are in a new phase of their lives.”
Talking about the art of getting in the character, he said, “That is the challenging part for an actor to become the character even when you don’t relate to the character or agree with the character. But convincing myself that I am the character and not Shaheer does the trick for me.”
