Mehul in his room recalls how HemRaj blamed him for getting his sister’s relation with Naren so he does not get away, he recalls when Nandini tired the Rakhi on his hands and then even demanded the gift when he gifted her a small pot so she said it is very nice. Anousya Baa is sitting when Kinjil comes asking Baa to try the new tea when Samta comes asking Kinjil to leave but Anousya Baa asks why is Samta not letting anyone do the work, Samta says that her those days are going on when Anousya Baa gets shocked.
Nandini asks what would Jivi learn if she stays away from education, Anjula says that the books are pure and she is impure then how can she touch them, Nandini says that when the books are so pure then how can they make it impure with a touch and those whose Mandir is in their house is also a woman. Anousya Baa orders Samta to bring a whole bucket of water as she would have to clean everything. Nandini explains that in the southern part of their country whenever a girl gets the period then they celebrate as the girl has become mature so why are they both living in the past. Nandini says that Jivi would go to school and even perform the exams, Nandini asks if Jivi is ready to learn.
Kinjil says that it is written everywhere that there is nothing wrong however Anousya Baa asks her to leave as she does not want such things in the house. Samta orders Kinjil to leave.
Anjula asks why is Kivi not saying anything when Nandini explains that Anjula has made her feel this shame since her childhood and so how can she say anything in front of her father, when the father leaves so Nandini as the reason and Kivi explains she is feeling weird with the cloth, Nandini questions if she is wearing the cloth of her old saree, Anjula agrees when Nandini takes out the sanitary napkin and then asks Kivi to go and wear them. The father asks if it would be fine or if nothing wrong would happen, but Nandini leaves with Kivi.
Anousya asks Samta to make sure Kinjil does not come out of her room for the next four days when Samta mentions she has taken part in her collage, but Anousya says she does not know anything about it but cares for her tradition. The child comes telling Anousha that HemRaj has called them all downstairs.
HemRaj explains that he has called them all here to discuss the marriage because he never does anything without discussing it first, he explains that Nandini is the girl whom Naren loves, he says she is an orphan and her mother committed suicide while her father married someone else, and he does not care about her relations. Naren asks how he found out when HemRaj explains that he would find out everything about the toys before getting them for him. HemRaj mentions that Ishwar and his wife raised both Nandini and her brother, but they are very simple and own just a piece of land that was about to be auctioned, he asks if Naren thinks that the family can give anything. Naren tries to argue however HemRaj mentions that he is aware Naren will question their values. Hem Raj explains that he should look around as Baa, Jalpa, Samta, Heta, Roupa, and even his mother came here after their family performed all the rituals, but it would be wrong with them all, he says the daughter-in-law should be the actual Lakshmi which is only fitting in the daughter of Sujhan. HemRaj says that Chanchal would always question him why he let Samta get married to his brother, it is because her parents fulfilled all the demands that he had and this is why she is in their house. Anousya Baa says that she does not want such a girl to come into their house whose mother committed suicide. HemRaj asks if Naren still wants to marry the girl, and Naren replies that he has always been forced to accept the decisions, Naren explains that his father had performed an inquiry about the family of Nandini and even if she belonged to the wealthiest family of Rajkot, even then he would not have desired even a single penny because she is against dowry and is different from all the daughter in laws of this family.
Naren says that people talk right of Mr HemRaj Ratansi, who has set a price of every man in this house, but he says he is also the son of him, Naren HemRaj Ratansi who is just sold on his principles, and he just cares for his Nandini. Naren leaves when HemRaj warns everyone that no matter what Naren does, but that woman will not become the daughter in law of this house and even society knows that he does not change his decision, while he would not let a mark come on his self-respect he also walks away furiously while Chanchal gets worried.
