Kundali Bhagya’s Baseer Ali aka Shaurya reveals why he is Quitting the show

The popular TV show “Kundali Bhagya” recently experienced a significant change in its cast. Sana Sayyad, who played the character Palki, has exited the show. In an exclusive report by Pinkvilla, it was revealed that Adrija Roy will take over the role following Sayyad’s departure.

Amidst rumors of Baseer Ali (who plays Shaurya Luthra) potentially leaving the show along with Sana Sayyad, Baseer clarified his position in an exclusive interview with Pinkvilla. Contrary to the speculation, Baseer disclosed that his absence was due to a vacation, not an intent to quit. He stated, “Well, that’s untrue. I had gone on a vacation and resumed the show after that. I hadn’t been on a vacation for a long time and thus took some time off. I am currently on a notice period and haven’t received clarity over my exit from the show. I am still waiting for the people in charge to update me on the same.”

Addressing questions about his dissatisfaction with his character’s development, Baseer commented, “I believe there was a miscommunication. I was expecting something else from the show. I had a few discussions with the team but things don’t seem to work according to my expectations, so I decided to move on. I would love to take up something meatier in future. Having said that, I have immense gratitude for the makers. This was my debut as an actor and I loved essaying Shaurya Luthra so far. It has been a fun ride.”

Regarding his future plans, Baseer expressed interest in reality shows, stating, “Well, reality shows are my calling and I’d definitely love to take up Bigg Boss, apparently not this year, but soon (smiles).”

“Kundali Bhagya” originally featured Shraddha Arya, Dheeraj Dhoopar, and Manit Jaura as the leads Preeta, Karan, and Rishab. Dheeraj’s departure led to Shakti Arora taking over as Karan. Following a generational leap, Manit Jaura and Shakti Arora also left, with Shakti Anand stepping in as Karan Luthra. Arya remains a constant presence on the show.

After the leap, Paras Kalnawat, Sana Sayyad, and Baseer Ali joined as the new generation, portraying Rajveer, Palki, and Shaurya.

Adrija Roy, known for her roles in “Durga Aur Charu” and “Imlie,” spoke about her new role in “Kundali Bhagya.” She acknowledged the challenge of replacing a character in such a popular show, drawing on her experience in “Imlie.” Roy shared, “I am sure it is going to be challenging. But I feel I’ve done it before. Even in Imlie, I entered post-leap, and there was a lot of pressure and responsibility on my shoulders and this time around too, this will be a challenge.”

As “Kundali Bhagya” undergoes these changes, fans are eagerly anticipating how the story will evolve with the new cast dynamics.
