Last-Minute Replacement: Rahul Sharma takes lead in ‘Kaisa Hai Yeh Rishta Anjaana’

It is not uncommon for actors to be replaced in daily soap operas, but it is rare for an actor to be replaced just a week before the show is scheduled to air. Shaleen Malhotra, who was initially cast in the lead role for the upcoming show “Kaisa Hai Yeh Rishta Anjaana,” has been replaced by Rahul Sharma.

Rahul, who was last seen in the show “Yashomati Maiyya Ke Nandlala,” has already filmed the promo for the show, which is set to premiere on June 26. Confirming the news in a recent interview, Rahul stated, “Yes, it’s true that I will be playing the lead role of Rajat in ‘Kaisa Hai Yeh Rishta Anjaana.’ The makers informed me that due to some personal reasons, Shaleen will not be able to continue with the show. They approached me to take on the lead role instead.” Regarding the experience of replacing another actor, he added, “This is not something new for me. I have been replaced by other actors on several occasions. There have been instances when I was informed just a day before the shoot that I was no longer a part of a show and they had cast someone else. It’s a common occurrence in the industry, and I have no hard feelings towards anyone.”

Rahul has previously appeared in various daily soap operas such as “Teri Meri Love Stories,” “Kaal Bhairav Rahasya,” “Ek Ghar Banauga,” and “Mitegi Laxman Rekha.” Talking about his role in the new show, he further explained, “I will be portraying the character of Rajat, who is a serious and composed individual in his personal life. He carries a sense of gravity and has numerous responsibilities on his shoulders. The story is set in Gorakhpur. Until now, I have mostly played light-hearted and easy-going characters, but this role is quite different and challenging.”
