Shark Tank India has always captivated audiences with its innovative pitches and groundbreaking business ideas, providing valuable insights from the Sharks. Recently, however, the show has faced an unfortunate development. Fit and Flex, an FMCG startup, has reportedly sent a legal notice to Sony Pictures Networks (SPN).
According to media reports, the legal notice was issued to Sony Pictures for allegedly deactivating Fit and Flex’s social media accounts. The startup claims that Sony’s actions led to the suspension of their social media presence, causing significant operational disruptions.
The notice asserts that Culver Max Entertainment violated the partnership terms with Fit and Flex, leading to these disruptions. It further alleges that Sony failed to fulfill its contractual obligations and did not uphold their part of the agreement.
Pathik Patel, the founder of Fit and Flex, expressed his frustration: “Despite numerous attempts to resolve these issues, we have faced complete radio silence from Sony, augmenting our challenges and highlighting the lack of accountability.”
Previously, Fit and Flex, which delivers fresh-from-farm and organic Darjeeling Tea nationwide, received another legal notice from Sony Pictures Networks India. Sparsh Agarwal, co-founder of the brand Dorji, shared on LinkedIn that Sony Pictures Networks India had sent them a legal notice for using clips from their pitch in YouTube videos.
Featured in season 3 of Shark Tank India, Fit and Flex introduced Pathik as a marathon runner and the owner of a cotton factory valued at Rs 700-800 crores. The startup requested Rs 1 crore for a 3% stake in their company. However, after discovering Pathik’s existing business, Sharks Aman Gupta and Vineeta Singh questioned his need for investment, to which Pathik explained his desire for mentorship. Unfortunately, the brand did not secure a deal from the Sharks.
Shark Tank India 3 commenced on January 22, featuring six new judges alongside those from previous seasons. The new judges include Azhar Iqubal, Ronnie Screwvala, Radhika Gupta, Deepinder Goyal, Varun Dua, and Ritesh Agarwal. Returning judges Anupam Mittal, Vineeta Singh, Aman Gupta, Peyush Bansal, Namita Thapar, and Amit Jain also rejoined the show. Shark Tank India remains crucial for aspiring entrepreneurs and a must-watch for those interested in business and innovation.
