Letters For You- OS by Parita

Hi guys…I’m back with an OS to celebrate today’s day.

Happy Independence Day!

I know I’m late but I got this idea after listening to a song on TV. Hope you all like it and do comment.

Starts

This is related and dedicated to all the warriors who are fighting, whether front line doctors during this time or soldiers on the borders.

Sandese aate hain, hame tadpate hain

Toh chitthee aati hai, toh puchhe jati hai

Ke ghar kab aaoge, ke ghar kab aaoge

Likho kab aaoge, kee tum bin yeh ghar suna suna hai

A man, proudly wearing an army uniform, sat in his place after receiving a letter on his name. He opened it and smiled with his eyes welled up. His metal badge twinkled in the sunlight reading “Lieutenant Vansh Rai Singhania”.

Sandese aate hain, hame tadpate hain

Toh chitthee aati hai, toh puchhe jati hai

Ke ghar kab aaoge, ke ghar kab aaoge

Likho kab aaoge, kee tum bin yeh ghar suna suna hai

A woman, wearing a white doctor’s cot with a blue PPE kit covering her as a second layer. She had a mask with a shield worn on her face with her hands instead of decorated with mehndi, were decorated with a pair of white gloves. She received a letter and she opened it. As the letter opened a smile on her face was drawn. She settled on a bed which had a tag reading “Covid Frontline Doctor Riddhima Vansh Rai Singhania”

Kisi dilwali ne, kisi matwali ne

Hame khat likkha hai, kee hamse puchha hai

Kisi kee sanso ne, kisi kee dhadkan ne

She smiled reading the letter, in which she could sense his presence , sense his cologne, sense his love for her, sense his warmth for her, sense his breathes, sense his heartbeats that beat with her name.

Kisi kee chudi ne, kisi ke kangan ne

Kisi ke kajre ne, kisi ke gajre ne

Mahekti subaho ne, machalti shamo, ne

Akeli rato ne, adhuri bato ne

Tarasti baho ne, aur puchha hai tarsi nighaho ne

He smiled reading the letter, in which she had penned down her endless talks on which he chuckled, her nights without him on which he missed each other’s cuddles and warmth, her unique “good morning’s” on which he reminisced their teasing sessions. He frowned when he noticed a dried tear….his heart pained.

Ke ghar kab aaoge, ke ghar kab aaoge

Likho kab aaoge, kee tum bin yeh dil suna suna hai

“Hope to meet you soon, love. When will we meet?” Both letters had those wordings depicting the feelings they had staying without each other. They both rubbed their tears away, chuckling at the question. They hugged the letter, keeping it towards their heart.

Sandese aate hain, hame tadpate hain

Toh chitthee aati hai, toh puchhe jati hai

Ke ghar kab aaoge, ke ghar kab aaoge

Likho kab aaoge, kee tum bin yeh ghar suna suna hai

They folded it neatly. Vansh kept the letter in his suitcase while Riddhima kept it in between her files. They once again reminisced the moments spent with each other and laughed remembering their words to each other

“Always stay smiling even if I’m martyred”

“Always stay smiling if I lose the battle of fighting against the virus”

They mouthed an “I love you” and resumed back to their duties, Vansh took the gun and went with his fellow companions toward the border for protection while Riddhima wearing another set of PPE kit went for a round in the Covid infected isolation ward Performing their duties that they put in front of everything, the duties that were their priority, the duty they pledged to perform till their last breathe, the duty of serving their country;their India.

The End

I hope you all liked this OS…do comment on how it was.
