Shivaay POV
Shivani was howling when I rushed to her room. I woke up to her howls at dawn when I saw my brothers’ car leave through the gates. Looks like Om was going to create a good impression on his future-in-laws while I had no impression left to create. I was in the doghouse and there looked to be nothing I could do.
Saumya was in the room. She looked like she had been up all night.
“What happened, Saumya?”
Saumya gave me a glare.
“Mama!” Shivani was screaming. Her face was so red and sore. I lifted her up. She was having high fever.
“Have you given her any medicine?”
Saumya nodded. “Didi came and checked her. Badima called her. But she is not stopping.”
I bounced her and patted her back as she wailed.
“Saumya…..you go sleep.”
She just stormed off to her room. The Kapoor sisters too were giving me the stink eyes since yesterday or it had already started and I just realised it yesterday.
Shaurya POV
I heard sobs as I walked by Aarya and Anika’s room. I knew it could not be Anika as she was in the garden with Rudra.
I knocked and stepped into the room and sitting on a corner of the bed was Aarya. She was crying like a small child.
“Aarya?” I walked to the side of the bed and sat next to her.
“Because of you, Didi scolded me.” She sniffled.
I looked at her puzzled. Was this the same girl that sneered and yelled at me from outside?
“Aarya!” She pulled away and moved to a corner.
“I will talk to Anika. She will let you go with Om.”
Aarya looked up. “I don’t care that I cannot go with Mr. Long Hair that I can go later also. But because of you Didi is angry with me again.”
I bit back a grin. I was sure my sister would not be pleased to see it now. But Mr. Long Hair?
“You can stop raising your eyebrow! That is my nickname for him.” Aarya muttered. How did she know what was going on in my mind?
“You both are having fun without me?” A voice quipped from the door. We looked at the door. A pouting Anika was standing there with three tubs of Ice Cream. She walked in and tossed one to each of us.
“Which movie do you want to watch?” Anika asked placing 3 CDs on the bed.
“Didi, these are all Disney Movies!” Aarya whined. I groaned. On the bed was Beauty and the Beast, Ratatouille and Zootopia.
Anika climbed onto the bed. “We cannot watch any of the movies you want to watch. My babies are too small.”
Aarya rolled her eyes at me. Jia came into the room.
“Anika Di……woh Shivaay……”
Anika’s face darkened. “I do not wish to meet him.” She snapped.
Aarya held her hand. “Didi, Jiju……”
Anika got off the bed. “Jiju? What Jiju, Aaru? Your Jiju tried to separated me from my children. My poor Shivani is there in that house. I can’t even meet the child that you both forced into my hands.” Tears were rolling down her cheeks.
Her pain was palpable.
Jia winced. “Di, woh Shivani….”
“Mama!” A loud wail was heard from downstairs. Anika’s eyes widened.
“Shivi!” She ran out of the room.
“Anika Dhyan se!” I yelled as I followed her and the two sisters followed us downstairs.
Shivani was squirming in Shivaay’s arms and that poor g…….no that ass of a man was standing there looking like he was going to cry soon.
Anika grabbed Shivani out of his arms.
“Shivi, my bacchi why is mama’s baby crying?” She looked at the bag that Shivaay had brought with him. Completely ignoring him, she turned and picked up the landline.
“Hello Somu, in the bag that Shivani brought with her, are the medicines there?……..Why didn’t you call me or bring her here?……..What do you mean I would be busy?…….Since last night? Sumo!” We could hear her end of the conversation.
Shivaay and the rest of us watched as Anika single handedly calmed the crying child down. Shivaay looked exhausted and ready to hug her for calming
“Vihaan Jiju, can you please bring Shivani’s bag to the room? Send that Rudra also there. It is after all his little princess also. He is in the garden.”
As she took a few steps forward, Shivaay cleared his throat. “Anika…..” He looked like he had a thousand things to say.
She paused. “Thank you for bringing your Shivani, Mr. Oberoi and send the Divorce papers soon.”
With that she left the room and for once, I felt pity for the Shivaay Singh Oberoi who was standing in the middle of the living room in his rumpled pyjamas and messy hair looking like his entire day was a mess but the worst was Anika’s indifference.
