(Abeer…)
As we went in our room, I recalled all those nights when she lived with me and how we had a very good friendship. This day was very special for us. I pulled her a little closer. ‘So wifey, I think we’ll need to have a queen size bed now, how will we sleep separately?,’ I said and she smiled. ‘You are so cute,’ she said and kissed my cheek.

‘I promise no villain will come to ruin your life because a dawn has married you,’ I told her and she hugged me. I hugged her back. After sometime, we got out of our wedding clothes and wore something comfortable. I was laying on the bed on my stomach and she was sitting on her knees in front of me, we were looking at each other lovingly.

It was nearly night. I held her hands in my hands and kissed them. I picked her in my arms placing her beside me and kissed her forehead. ‘Thank you Abeer, you accepted a girl who was raped, I am grateful,’ she said and I smiled. ‘I know, but forget that day, you are mine, you make me special,’ I said and kissed her eyes.

Next day, we woke up in each other’s arms on the lower bed. ‘Good morning beautiful,’ I said. ‘Good morning,’ she replied and got off the bed but I pulled her. “Wifey, running away from romance ha? Not so easily,” I said and kissed her forehead then her jawline and neck. “You’re my soul, if you ever need anything, I will be there, ok?,” I said and she smiled. “Ok,” she kissed my forehead. “Aren’t you running out of time?,” she asked. “Patients can have patience but I can’t,” I said tucking her hair behind her ear.

I cupped her cheeks, her face looked so beautiful in dim light. “Ok I am getting ready,” I got up and went to washroom, then I had breakfast and I went bidding bye to everyone. Whole day was normal until I received Meher’s call. “Hallo, I m coming,” I said immediately after receiving the call but heard her sobbing. “I won’t be able to meet you again, bye,” she said and disconnected the call. “Hallo, Meher,” I almost shouted and ran out of my cabin. I reached the exit and sat in the car and drove at a high speed. After a long drive, I reached my house. I went out of the car and went to the door and unlocked it and found mom crying banging the closed door of our room again and again. “Mom what happened?,” I asked running to her. “Akshat’s mother came and slapped her on knowing that she gave Akshat to police and married you, do something,” she said and I moved back taking a couple of steps and ran to the door to break open it. As it broke, I saw Meher on the bed with cuts on her whole body, her fist clenched a chit while her other fist had a knife. I got horrified at the sight and bursted into tears. I took the chit from her hand, it said “Sorry Abeer, it was just one day we got married and I am going far from you, please forgive me if possible, those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us everyday, unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear, goodbye, I will love you forever.”
