The recent episode of the reality show Lock Upp started with high voltage drama and a nasty fight between Siddharth Sharma and Shivam Sharma. Amidst all this, some of the contestants were having heart-to-heart conversations with their fellow inmates. One of them was Karanvir and Nisha Rawal who were having a conversation about the latter’s troubled married life.
Nisha revealed that her son was not even 4 when the incident of domestic violence happened. When Karanvir asked her what she tells her son Kavish about his father Karan Mehra. Nisha replied saying, “He rarely asks about his father as he thinks that he is away shooting for a show in another city. Their bond was not like they would talk to each other on calls every day. Whatever moments were there was created by me mostly. I would tell him to sit and talk to him, put his phone aside because then he’ll be gone. When Kavish asks me where he is and why he (papa) is not calling, I tell him, that I am sorry but your mom is there for you. I am your mama and papa.”
She added, “I also feel that he would not be able to express properly, so that’s why I wanted a behavior therapist for him because they deal with such cases every day. They told me it will gradually have a cascading effect but also advised me to tell him the facts that his brain can accept. So he doesn’t know anything negative at all. I always embrace him whenever he talks about his father. Then I make him sit down and encourage him to talk. I always believe that it takes two people to produce a child, it should take two people to raise him. And when life throws a challenge at you, or you go through something and it falls on one person, it’s fine, you learn and improvise.”
Karanvir added saying it was very wise of her to accept the show Lock Upp. He says, “Money brings power, independence, responsibility and that’s why women nowadays have a voice. Marriages are going to become very rare in India in the coming years. Because a man can’t handle a woman’s independence. He cannot.”
For the unversed, Nisha Rawal and Karan Mehra had an ugly fall-out in 2021 when Karan was arrested for physically abusing his wife Nisha Rawal after a brawl between the two. Nisha filed a domestic violence case against Karan and also accused him of having extramarital affairs.
