“Why does life has to be miserable? When you're about to have the best moment of your life, why does someone has to come in between and ruin it? Why do you fail, when you had put all of your efforts into something? Why didn’t destiny made you lucky?” Naira said shouting. She was so angry that she had thrown the flower vase into a window. It smashed to the window making a shattering sound.
Hearing the glass shattering, Karthik ran to her. He saw her crying, he felt bad but didn’t show it. He had many questions in his mind. He was looking for those answers. He knew that she was hiding something from him. He didn’t ask her before since he didn’t want to hurt her. He couldn’t see her cry like that. He decided to go closer to her, so he did. He held her shoulders, looking at her eyes. “Naira, what happened?” She didn’t say anything for a while. She stood up and turned around and said: “He’s here.” “Rivthik is here.” “I will tell you my past since I trust you.”
Naira: Everyone thought I was fine. Well they were wrong. I’ve been bullied, beaten and ripped apart. Everyone hates me, they don’t care about me. They don’t care whether I live or die. They look at me and laugh.
Last year, I thought I found someone that really loved me. He made me feel special. I would’ve to commit suicide last year if he didn’t come to me. His name was Rivthik. Rivthik became my best friend. I started falling in love with him. He found out my feeling for him. He found out by reading my diary. The next day, Rivthik came to my house and he shared his feelings with me. He shared his feeling for me by proposing me. I agreed to be his girlfriend. A few weeks later, we had a college trip and that where it started.
Flashback:
Naira was in her room, changing her clothes. She was half naked. Before she could put her saree on for a college event, she heard the door squeaking. Suddenly, Naira felt a warm shiver of fear crawling up her back. She turned around, and got shocked. It was Rivthik. Naira could see a big smile in his face. He locked the door and came closer to her. “What are you doing?” she said loudly. “Let’s have some fun” he whispered to her. He pushed her to bed and rape* her. She stood up (in pain) and pushed him away. She tried to escape from the room, but he pulled her hair back and started to beat her up. He took a metal stick and banged it on Naira’s head. Naira freezed for a moment and fell on the ground. Her head was bleeding. Seeing this, Rivthik escaped.
A few minutes later, her friend came in and was shocked to see Naira in this state. She called the doctors and the doctors took her to the hospital.
When Naira opened her eyes, doctors and nurses were standing in front of her. “You are lucky, after getting hit on the head, you are still alive” the doctor said. “Don’t worry, your baby is fine” nurse said. Naira got shocked, she sat up and said “What?”
Flashback ends
Naira couldn’t speak a word. Tears were rushing down her beautiful eyes, her eyes were no longer dark brown.
Karthik: What happened to your baby?
Naira: I had abortion. I didn’t want to kill the baby that was living in my stomach. But, I was forced too. My mother forced me too. My mother did this for good. For my good.
Karthik: What about Rivthik?
Naira: After the incident, I never saw him. But today I saw Rivthik. I saw him over here.
Karthik broke in pieces. He can never think that someone can do such things to her. He just wanted her to be happy. He didn’t care about anyone, except for Naira.
He ran in anger to find that idiot Rivthik. That Rivthik who had beaten up Naira.
Naira ran behind him
A guy comes up to Karthik and says “Hey dude, you look cool, where did you got your shirt from?” “Oh before you answer, I am Rivthik, nice to meet you” Rivthik said bringing his hand forward. Karthik got angry and kicks Rivthik’s stomach. Rivthik falls down. Everyone looked on. Naira reaches and tries to stop Karthik, but Karthik does not stop at all.
Karthik was just about to punch Rivthik in his face, but police came and stopped him. “You are Mr Goenka’s son right?” “Well that doesn’t matter, because you are arrested” said police. Karthik hands were inside the handcuffs.
“Can I talk to Karthik, for a few minutes?” “Alone” Naira said.
The police agreed
Karthik and Naira were in a room together
Naira: I am sorry, because of me you are seeing this day today. Maybe God didn’t want to get justice for me. Karthik, what Rivthik did was wrong. It doesn’t mean that you can show everyone that you are a hero. Who the hell told you to go beat up Rivthik? You don’t have to interfere in my life because you are only my best friend. Not a lover, who cames to save her lady love. You created more drama. Don’t say you were trying to protect me, because that did not work.
Karthik had enough of hearing her words. He was shocked. He gave her a fake smile and left the room.
The police took Karthik away.

At Jail:
Karthik POV:
God, why did this happen? It shouldn’t have happened today. I feel depressed seeing Naira’s hatred towards me. She was annoyed at me. Straight after college dance, I wanted to propose to her. I thought it would be the best day of life! I was wrong, I am in jail. Meri kismat acchi nahi hai. I thought Naira loves me back but….she doesn’t. I have to move on.
