i know i know it is cup of tea and a glass of lassi but reading the os you will know why i kept this title”love is not my cup of lassi”.
A girl was walking thorugh the corridors of a college with a heavy bag hung on her right shoulder while she had tucked her mobile close to her ear.
“yes I will reach my class by time,you saw you classroom or still searching?”the girl said chuckling a bit.
“yaya I know that you are the great riya but don’t forget you got these talents from your ragini only”ragini said shoving her shoulders with a mischievous grin.riya huffed at the other side and after a moment of silence came her voice with equal intensity of naughtiness.
“so we are in college now,now toh I am sure you will get your prince chariming….then I will see how you don’t believe in love”riya said making ragini halt her steps and turn pale.she turned normal jerking herself hearing riya chuckling at the other side.
“riya,you….”ragini said angrily but stopped not getting any words.
“ya me,the one and only best friend of ragini who can annoy her and cool her down at the same time”riya said praising herself.”but yaar I don’t understand why you have so much problem with the word love…….can anyone believe a girl who reads romantic novels,hear romantic and sad songs not believe in love……you are really impossible”riya snorted finishing her lines.
“yes you understand naa that I don’t believe in love so I don’t need anyone else’s approval .and you know naa for me love is just a word nothing else……..and moreover I cant fall in love,get mad in love,smile without reason and cry for a person…….love is not my…..”ragini said explaining her side again……
“yes I know love is not your cup of lassi”riya said and gave a small laugh reciprocated by ragini.”if anoyne listens to our talks naa they will surely consider us mad”riya spoke with a tone of amazement.
“I know and surely about this……but you remember why we kept this name……just like its not cup of lassi but tea and a glass of lassi……the same way”ragini speaks amused but gets cut by riya.
“ragini and love sound atpate(strange) in one sentence”riya finished and sighed thinking about love.
“ok riya I will call you after attending my classes,now I will hang up,all the best for your first day,bye,love you”ragini cut the call and looked at her new class with a lot of feelings,anxiety,nervousness,excitement,fear,hope……evrytihng.
She sat on her seat and looked around finding someone to interact with and make friends.she moved to a girl with one thing going in mind”come on you are not being chipku,its called socializing”.she smiled at the girl who looked at her with curious expressions.
“ragini you are really funny yaar…..i hadn’t thought I will make such a good friend on first day of college”aradhya said hi-fing to ragini.just then a boy entered the class in a usual manner and sat beside aradhya looking at ragini just for a moment and turning his face to aradhya to attract her attention.
“hi sanskar,you came early,huh….what’s the matter”aradhya teased sanskar and ragini looked on feeling uninvited.sanskar said something to aradhya and pulled her cheeks earining a frown from ragini.she hasn’t let any boy even sit with her during the school days and seeing them just left her dazed but she knew she has to get familiar with all this as friends behave like this only.sanskar shifted his gaze on ragini demanding an ans. Form aradhya.
“meet ragini,my new friend,she is really nice….you will surely like her,and ragini this is sanskar,my school buddy and now college too”aradhya said introducing them to eo.sanky smiled heartily at her while she returned a small smile in acknowledgement.

“aru tell me one thing do I look like some daaku or chor?……no naa then why this ragini seems to go mute only when I enter your convos….”sanky said scratching his head.
“sanskar beta she is not th girl to just mix with people easily,it will take time for her to accept you as a true friend”aradhya said patting his shoulder.
“how much time?its has been 1 month since we are acquainted with eo but never have we shared a proper convo anytime”sanky said faking a cry.
“oho why are you being so desperate as if you want to make her your gf…..no naa…wait fro some time….some ppl need time to open up and ragu is one of them……thank god that she stays in your presence …..you know she didn’t talked with any boy of her class and if anyone came she shoved them like anything”aru said scaring sanky a bit.
“but why?”sanky gulped in fear.
“actually I don’t know……she doesn’t have a particular reason for it,jst that she has made boundary allowing ppl acc. To her wish and she is happy with them only”aru said thinking a bit.ragini came and stood beside aru flashing a bright smile.
“what happened?you are beaming in happiness”aru teased her.
“actually today is riya’s b’day and i am finally going to meet after 1 whole month,I am really exicted to meet her”ragu said still with that smile on her face.
“bt you talk to her whole day and still you are this much happy to meet her”sanky questioned but earned the frowns of both the girls.”you wont know how it feels to meet your frand after so long”rgini said rudely while sanky bit his tongue for his mistake.
“sorry na ragu”sanky said in a pleading manner to ragini and ragini turned with her red eyes but her anger vanished seeing his puppy face.she smiled at him nodding her head and sanky widened his eyes seeing her smile at him for the 1st time with all her heart.
“ok guys,you also come with me,it will be fun”ragini said clasping her hands.sanky and aru looked at her and then aru nodded with a smile.”mujhe toh kain bhi khaana mile main toh chali jaungi and I know sanky will surely come after both of us……..and I can also meet riya,bohot tareef jo suni h uske bare me”aru said chuckling and ragini nodded.

“riya”ragu hugged her best frand and all 4 sitted on a table introducing eo and all got familiar with eo in a short time.
“you know I still cant believe it that ragu has a boy frand…..she didnt had any in school too…that’s why…bt now seeing you sanskaar i am relieved she has a guy in her friends circle..”riya said looking b/w the 3.
“but why ragini is too rude to boys?”aradhya said rasing an eyebrows to which ragini scowled and gave an annoyed look.”well this is one of the typical girls habit she has…….not talking to boys….keeping away from them…..it doesnt has any reason but just that she is happy with her friends only and doesnt include any boys….”riya said looking towards ragini while sanskar just sat there thanking that he had got the opportunity to befriend a girl like this who had contrasting views from any other girl who run after boys for their attention except aru.
ragini wwent to washroom with aru and riya and sanky talked for a while.”riya i think ragini hasnt accepted me as a friend till now……”sanky said in low spirits.”hmmm ….give her some time and you know when she connects with you as a friend she will do anything for you…and not leave your hand anytime….she is a gr8 friend”riya encouraged him amd sanky gave a small smile.aru and ragu came back and all enjoyed a lot.
Sanskar came across a totally new shade of ragini who was all chirpy, jovial and full of life.he admired her this side a bit more than her usual self and kept in mind to give their friendship some time to develop.

“Aru isn’t coming today, she has fever”sanskar said to ragini in monotone.ragini nodded and saw aru’s message on her phone.’she will again become a ghost without aru and only me around.’sanky thought and felt sad but then prompted himself to talk to ragini and develop friendship.
“Ragini can you help me with the topic that is going on in class?”sanskar asked her with a hope and ragini gave him a glare but composed and nodded.sanskar was the most smart kid of the class ,so why he needs help thought ragini.
“Wow, you teach better than the teacher”sanskar exclaimed amazed to which ragini smiled happily.sankar’s heart fluttered seeing her smile.
“Let’s go to canteen and eat,I am hungry”sanskar pouted making ragini giggle.they spent the day talking and laughing much to their surprise.sanskar was assured that now ragini is comfortable with him and Riya was right.
Sanskar found a great friend in ragini and was happy to give time to their friendship that everything turned out smoothly.

“Aru you should take care of yourself naa always getting into trouble.you should not have danced in rain.stupid rain spoils everything”ragini sniffed with the thought of rain.sanskar looked at her confused.ragini noticed him and gave him a bored look.”I don’t like rain”ragini exclaimed earning a frown from sanskar but then he started laughing baffling ragini.”I have never seen a girl who doesn’t like rain,you are really different”sanskar stopped laughing and explained his view.aru was pleasantly surprised to see them behave like this though sanskar had told her but she didn’t believe it.ragini glared at him and thought of teasing him,so she said sarcastically”yaa your girlfriend will be the one who does all these girly stuff and you would be all ‘awww’ at her antics”. sanskar gave her a ‘ you are mad look ‘ and ragini smirked and continued”but I wonder if you will get a girlfriend.hmmm…no…i don’t think so,poor sanskar”.he was blushing thinking of his future girlfriend but this comment annoyed him and he twitched his eyes in irritation to which ragini and aru giggled.sanskar stamped his foot and spoke in anger”go I won’t talk to you” stopping ragini’s giggle.she patted his shoulder and said”par main tera peecha nahi chodungi,chahe tu kitna bhi dur Chala jaye main to tujhse chipki rahungi,dosti ki hai koi Prasad thodi naa batt raha hai”making sanskar smile.

“Papers are coming, what will I do?”ragini faked a cry and panicked revealing her completely different side which amazed sanskar.he rubbed her shoulder and took her to canteen ordering her favorite food.”ragini first eat and then Cool down, there’s still one month left you have time”sanskar spoke and seeing no movement in ragini ,he took a bite to her mouth making her eat.ragini gulped down the food while sanskar was successful in calming her.
“Let’s go to library and study,we will finish the syllabus soon”sanskar held her hand while some unknown feeling arose in both their hearts.
It was raining with only one umbrella and 2people, ragini and sanskar.they looked at each other and sighed.”let’s go”ragini exclaimed and sanskar held the umbrella but ragini kept hand on it saying”no need to be a gentleman ,I am your friend only, you can be you true self”. sanskar nodded softly and they walked forward covering their heads.”see both of us got drenched I told you to take the umbrella but you had to fulfil you friendship”sanskar said rubbing his shoulder while ragini dried her scarf giving him a glare which silenced him.
Sanskar was day by day getting attracted to her and he knew that too whilst ragini also know it but refused to acknowledge it, she thought that she has first time befriended a boy so it’s just the normal feeling in such friendship and rejected her new unnamed feeling.

“Who is he?”ragini asked sanskar about the boy who was hugging aru.”her boyfriend”sanskar said happily while ragini blinked to digest this fact.
“So you want to tell me something?”ragini asked aru who blushed and told her everything..”really, you are in relation with him since 8th class,I can’t believe it.you guys love each other?like…true love?”ragini asked widening her eyes.aru nodded while ragini gulped seeing her friend so deeply in love.love, which was just a word for her ,a stupid notion affects people like this,it’s pure and true manifestation in front of her.she thought about her view concluding that there’s still love, you just need to open your eyes.
“You know I don’t believe in love but your love…I respect it immensely,you people are from different religions…but it didn’t became a hurdle in your love.aryan is a really good guy ,I, surprisingly ,can see love in his eyes.i know that he will keep you happy…”ragini said holding aru’s hand with a soft smile and teary eyes.sanskar admired their bond and took both of them in side hug.

“You know Riya sanskar scolded the boys badly who were saying that I am rude he said in a dangerous tone’its none of your business,if she wants to talk she will,if not then it’s her choice, not problem stay in your limits”ragini mimicked sanskar and giggled.
Riya said in a grave tone”you’re in love”which shocked ragini.riya continued in a happy tone”yes, you fell in love,finally”. ragini cut her and asked reason for her this view.”you are talking about him only, you are giggling so much, every conversation of ours include him nowadays,see that’s love”Riya explained while ragini gulped hearing her.”no, it’s not possible”ragini panicked while Riya calmed her and said”I knew it you will get true Love one day, you know it’s said that who run away from love they fall in love first and it happened and now ragini and love don’t sound strange together,love is your cup of tea…no no not tea but lassi..cup of lassi”.”I am in love….I can’t believe it”ragini exclaimed amazed while Riya chuckled cutting the call wishing her bye.
Ragini thought about it whole night,her moments with sanskar,it all seemed surreal, she hadn’t thought that she Will Fall in Love anytime,but now to her it seemed a sweet dream which has come true.thought she had some doubts but those all seemed small in front of the bigger picture.she slept with the thought of realisation of her love.

“Ragini I think that I feel something more than friendship for you…..I mean… actually… I…I…think….I love you”sanskar had his eyes closed while confessing to ragini while his nervousness was visible in his voice.ragini didn’t thought that she will have tears in her eyes but she had.
It had been 3years that they were friends with those ‘more than friend feeling in heart’ but now , finally he confessed to her.ragini thought of confessing but stepped back with the typical fear of losing a friend.in this moment she just lost herself in his innocent face and hugged him tightly muttering I love you too.sanskar was more than happy to hear her and reciprocated the hug.
“But love is not your cup of lassi naa…then?”sanskar asked playfully to which ragini punched him saying “it was,now it is my cup of lassi,you care about my love or choice,shut up and keep loving me”. sanskar smirked to this and hugged her again.
He knew that she won’t express her feelings like everyone usually do but will be there for him ,she knew that he will make her feel blessed with his limitless love ,his expression of love would be enough for them,he will understand her without any words and she will not leave his side may what come.that is their love.
I don’t know what I wrote.came back after a long time so need to brush up my not so good skills.
