Love, Trust and Destiny (Part 1)

Hi! This is the first part of a ten shot I am writing due to a request…I know the idea is similar to Janmani Di’s OS…I am writing this on Mallika’s request and Janmani Di is fine with it…

“No one believes in love at first sight until that special person just comes along and steals your heart.”

Naina found love in Karan. Karan was a soldier working for the Indian army. A brave soldier whose only motive was to fight for his country. She had first seen him at the Delhi railway station when she was waiting for her friend. He stepped down from one of the coaches reserved for the army. Naina had never dreamt of falling in love with an army soldier, but the minute she saw him, there was no turning back.

She walked to him and asked if they could be friends. He was taken aback by the sudden offer but accepted. They became the best of friends. Late night calls, spending all of their time together, sharing each and every matter with each other. It only took twelve days for their friendship to blossom into love.

Naina proposed to him a few days later. It was the perfect proposal. Both of them were alone at Marine Drive when she popped the big question, he accepted! Their wedding was held in Mumbai with great show. She officially became Mrs. Naina Karan Singh Chauhan!

They relocated to Worli and began a new life together.

Scene 1: Nairan’s house in Worli

Naina was quite worried. It had been a month since she had first seen Karan and seven days to their marriage. Karan had been with her for a whole month! Normally, army soldiers were called back fast. She couldn’t imagine spending time without Karan! He had become her life! Karan entered and saw Naina upset. He walked towards her.

Karan: What happened?

Naina: How often are you called back?

Karan: Whenever a conflict arises. Why?

Naina looked at Karan, her beautiful eyes filled with tears. Karan got worried.

Karan: What happened?

Naina: Karan! How will I live without you?

Karan took her hand into his.

Karan: Naina! Who said I am going away from you? If the army calls me back, I have to go but that doesn’t mean I won’t return!

Naina: I love you Karan! I can’t imagine living a life without you! I am just scared!

Karan hugged Naina caressing her hair.

Karan: Naina, you have to be strong! Life is full of uncertainities! Whenever we, soldiers set out for a battle, we never know if we will ever return alive. But, that’s how life is!

Naina: I understand! I will be strong!

Karan: That’s my wife!

Naina smiled through her tears. She knew that she would have to be strong. For now, she had her husband, her love with her. She felt so strong, so lucky to be in her husband’s embrace. She knew that whatever trouble came their way, they would face it together. What more could she want?

Ten days later

Karan had received news that there had been disputes between India and X country. There was a war going on and the Indian army needed soldiers to fight for India. The army had called him and he was obliged to go. He had packed and done everything he should, the one thing left for him to do was to tell Naina.

Karan: Naina! Naina! Where are you?

Naina came running with a smile on her face.

Karan: Naina, I need to tell you something.

Naina: Tell me.

Karan took a deep breath.

Karan: Naina, I’ve been called to fight a war!

Naina’s smile faded quickly. She knew what that meant. She understood the fact that Karan’s first priority was their country and she wouldn’t ever stop him from fighting the war. However, she was scared. The thought of losing him was too much for her to bear. But, she knew that she would have to stay strong, for him, for them!

Naina: I understand! I support you and believe that you will come back unharmed!

Karan smiled and hugged Naina with tears in his eyes. He had been to war several times but never felt like this before because this was the first time he was going to war leaving someone he loved alone, with the hope of meeting him again. The strength it took for him to leave Naina alone and go for war, that was the strength only an army officer possessed! He knew that there were chances that this was the last time he was meeting her!

Naina: I love you!

Karan: I love you too!

He pecked Naina’s forehead and left for the war.

Naina stood at the door long after Karan’s silhouette faded away from her view. She believed that he would come back. She believed in their love!
