PART 31
Last few days were a blur with little ceremonies their parents wanted to be done like a normal wedding.
She felt pricks whenever someone mentioned Yuvraaj… starting a new life is never easy but for her it was an impossible task she was making possible.
Of course she made herself smile and sometimes a genuine smile came on her face also sometimes she felt conscious whether the smile was a little too long.
Absolutely she was conscious about her every single move cause even if sometimes she went along with the moment, the surrounding eyes which were though not judging her made her falter her free actions.
“i saw you are not Yourself in the ceremonies… don’t think too much.” his text popped up suddenly.
“hmmm.” she typed away the irritating hmmm but she had no answers to explain.
“is it possible to meet before the wedding?” he typed before his mind started thinking coherently.
“is there something important?” she asked.
In the answer to her question she received his call.
“hello…” with a calm voice she took the call.
“nothing important but I wanted to talk about a few things.”he seemed calm but she was sensing his heart.
“okay…after Di’s in-laws leave I’ll come otherwise…” she was cut midway.
“we are about to get married and it is not like …leave it, I’m waiting in the lawn.” he snapped with known reasons and she smiled on those reasons.
Though her mother in law has not invited anyone from her side but since her sister’s in laws were in same city and a few very close friends were there so they thought to invite them for the little ceremonies.
But walking with him in front of their eyes was something she could not risk of… it was already embarrassing for her to go through all those rituals, she didn’t want their smirking eyes.

“i was waiting for your call… he said as soon as she knocked on the half open door.
“Everyone has already retired to their rooms so Di suggested…
Sitting in the chair near the window, her favourite in this room she calmed him.
“anything important… rubbing her left palm with the right thumb she looked up.
“did you see she gets happy when someone clicks a picture of her.” he said seeing his phone.
And she felt puzzled, he wanted to talk about something..right?
“i meant our little girl.” he clarified seeing her questioning eyes.
“Really ?” she was irritated now.
“i want her to never grow old and go away…I always want her with us.” and he slid his screen.
“Kunj… she left the chair and was ready to leave the room.
“i know I am boring but would you do the same even after the wedding?” he asked with such an innocence she felt so bad for being cranky but it was not her fault; she was already in a lot of pressure to come in his room at this hour.
“No, it is not like that I..ummm, I mean ..at at this hour…
“it is okay, I was just joking.” with that he stole a smile showing the dips on his cheeks.
Her eyelids contracted seeing him laugh, “you are making fun of me…it was my fault that I came.” she was about to cross him when his hand stopped her.
“Why so serious… I know it is not easy for you but trust me, no one is judging us they want our good.” he said in a voice full with honesty.
“things are not same for us … it is not your second wedding within a year of your spouse’s death.” she replied and heard the grip being loosened.
“absolutly.. it is different, I am marrying the love of my deceased brother. I know though I love her like no one, there will always be a shadow telling me it is all so different, not normal,” he spoke and with the frequencies reaching her ears she knew he has turned his back to him.
Everyone was suffering cause if she has lost her better half he also has lost his brother… he could have taken a good chance to let her be on her own and married Neha but he still asked for her because of the love he has engraved for her in his heart.
“i am sorry , I didn’t mean to upset you,” she whispered turning slowly.
“i am not… I just want you to trust this relationship and think about positive things.”
“as you say Kunj Sarna,” she replied with a hint of a smile and he turned back instantly.
“did my ears hear something else…” he narrowed her.
“can I see the pictures of Kavya you were seeing earlier.” to change the topic and hide the sudden blush creeping on her cheeks she asked him.
“of course.” and without making her any more uncomfortable he took the phone from the bed.
“can we sit on those chairs near window for a while.” he requested and as an answer she walked there smiling on his hesitant wish.
Sliding the pictures of different ceremonies she suddenly noticed the color of her henna coated hands, though she knew it was the chemicals which made the color of henna darker but still a popular saying crossed her heart.
“the darker the henna, the deeper is the love of your husband.” and she pulled back her hands in her lap and let him show the pictures one by one.

Next_morning
“Time is the most important factor to decide anything.” seeing his son ready in the chocolate brown sherwani, Uma thought in her heart.
“What is this Ma?” seeing his mother ready with the kajal pencil Kunj irritated.
“i don’t want any evil eye near my son…let I do this.” not caring about his angry looks she came forward.
Making a mark on her index she marked a small mole behind his ears.
“it is not a big thing Ma, you are excited like a big show is about to start.” he smiled on his mother’s happiness.
“be a dad and you will understand what it feels to see your child happy.” she hid the tears.
“it feels amazing seeing her smile.” he murmured as he sprinkled the fragrance for a final touch before the ceremony.
Their little light talks were disturbed by a phone call…
“Ma, your phone…” he called his mother who was busy grabbing something from the suitcase in the next room.
And suddenly his eyes caught the caller_id … “Savitri”.
______________*______________
“i know I should have told you about it Son, but believe me I was handling it the best possible way.” Uma’s voice faltered.
“it is not like I am angry Ma but you were managing it all alone, I might have helped you.” he kept away the turban.
“Kunj, why did you do that…once the groom puts it on his head he puts it off only after the wedding.” Uma panicked with the bad omen.
“really Ma?” do you think I am caring about this ritual at this moment?” his temper was running away.
“ Neha was in touch with me since the time I had visited you guys, she never gave any hints.” he was frustrated on the way things were unfolding.
“in her condition she herself doesn’t understand what she is doing or what is happening to her…” Uma remembered the vague memory of the sudden visit made by Neha’s mother.
“so when did you get to know about it ?” he wanted to confirm her mother’s intentions.
“see, I was already preparing for it son but when I got to know about her, I did not want to take any risk,” Uma answered not meeting her son’s eyes.
“and any way I know you want to marry Twinkle, there is nothing to think about… Neha’s wishes are not acceptable;it wont give joy to anyone.” Uma reasoned her decisions.
“ I understand your reasons, don’t worry Ma I think you have done the right thing.” he hugged her mother who was feeling ashamed.
“Ma…how could you do this with her?” the last person on earth they wanted this to know has gotten to know about it.
Both mother and son froze seeing her on the door.
“Neha has been hospitalized and here we are about to get married which if she gets to know she will die…” voice shivering with tears Twinkle asked them.
“dear, listen to me…you are taking us wrong.” her mother in law ran to her.
“Ma…one minute, please leave us alone I want to talk with her.” the depth in his voice shocked both the ladies.
“But son, let me exp…” Uma tried to explain.
“Ma…please.” though in a strict voice he requested his mother.
Heart beating with the anticipation of a big storm Uma left the room but before going she looked into the eyes of her daughter in law to explain she was not doing anything wrong and she was compelled to do what she did.
He latched the door after his mother was out of sight and then turned to face her.
When he didn’t say a thing her calm shook and she asked him, “ why are you doing this to her, she was never at fault… we will not be happy if she..
She was cut midway as he pulled her to his side and pressing both her upper arms asked, “ how do you know we won’t be happy, haan? From the very start, I knew it was tough for you but then I thought you have started to believe me…
“i was ready but I can’t marry you knowing Neha is under severe depression…” not meeting his eyes she replied instantly.
“Who told you about this…Neha or his fiancé..haan? Who told you this?” he asked in a tone unknown to him.
“her brother… he was upset for his sister…
“and even if I marry her would she be okay if she gets to know I still love you and will keep loving you..haan?” he asked the appropriate question.“what kind of a girl will want that?
His questions were right but she knew she couldn’t do it, even if she did that and Neha died she would never be happy.
“Just like you, I also got to know about this today only but Ma has planned this wedding because she got to know about Neha’s condition and she knew if you get to know about it you will deny… but answer my questions even if I marry her would she be okay?
“i don’t know but I can’t sin.” in a small voice she answered.
“oh really, then what it was when you had said you wanted to marry Yuvi when we were about to get married, at that time you didn’t think about me…why?” the frustration started wearing him off.
“you are being impossible Kunj… this is not the same thing.” she snapped on the question.
“no, no Twinkle this is the same thing…even then you cared about you and today also you are getting a chance to deny me so denying me…” his voice was getting high with every moment.
“it is not like that… but sorry Kunj , I can’t do this..think once about her.” she pleaded to him.
“i am caring about her only…did someone tell she has been hospitalized because of this reason…or do you know she has already been engaged to someone…No, right?”
“she is pretending, she is not happy.” she again lost eye contact with him.
“ahaaa…And you know this very well.” he mocked her leaving her hands and turning to another side.
“whatever it is, I can’t marry you…with that she forced the ring out from her finger and kept on the table.
“i am keeping it here, sorry Kunj but I have promised him that nothing will happen to her sister.” though she knew she was crossing the limits and it could infuriate her she did that.
And this broke the hell.
“enough of what you can and what you cant… and with a swift motion, he took the ring and forced in her ring finger.
“i didn’t think I would ever do this but you have forced me Twinkle, this marriage will happen today only and at any cost…And dare you to deny this time, I will make sure you repent very well in future.” it was someone else with a totally different demeanor, his calm eyes were burning amber and he was just not him.
With that, he pushed her and left the room banging the door.
The intensity with which the door’s hinges shook shocked her and more than that his warning terrified her.
Unknowingly she had made a grave mistake and now it was her only who was going to repent for the huge mistake.
“I am neither expecting countless promises nor wishing for a big fat celebration… I just want Me and You to be in the moment, no matter how long it is going to take.”
His words from last night echoed in her ears… and she sensed something running down her wrist.
One of the bangles has broken by the force and now the blood was staining her henna coated palm and no longer the dark color of henna gave her hopes of a better tomorrow.
