PART 45 a
It was an utterly silent room despite the lit night that it was a few hours back and then all those chaos.
He entered the silent room after talking with the physician and the general inquiries where he was assured adequately that she was fine and was just under the shock.
On his way back from the main gate his mother and Bua asked him about the hospital and there was nothing to tell at this moment than to wait and pray for Dhruv.
Switching the light on he prayed for no disturbance to her but it was of no use she was already unconscious. he walked to the bed, it seemed she was sleeping after so long, she looked peaceful…there was no sign of anything odd.
He wanted to touch her, he wanted to hear her breaths …he wanted to feel she was just sleeping and nothing else.
On the side table, her little hand clutch was kept… he opened it and here was his phone, blinking that little white led for the numerous calls that were made to him.
The battery has already drained of his phone so plugging it to the socket he took out her phone and swiped the screen to check the battery.
Her phone didn’t need a charging session so he kept it on the table… “what if she wakes up.” his heart asked him.
“then go and freshen up fast.” the mind answered in a second.
Without wasting any moment he grabbed his towel and discarded the white shirt that of course, he was never going to wear again.
suddenly he felt that unusual stickiness on his body due to blood and sweat. as long as his mind was occupied with hundred different things he didn’t feel this but now As soon as the water hit his back, his mind went back to all the things that happened in a good span of an hour.
They were all so happy and comfortable and just like that it was all gone… Now only he realized the gravity of the accident, it was a strong impact, that biker reminded him of His own brother who died in one such …No wonder Twinkle felt that too.
“No, no he would survive.” calming his unrest self he rubbed himself to get rid of the dirt.
when he was in Dublin after the accident, there were nights when his brother came to him in dreams, when the last moments with him came to his eyes, they haunted him, made him cry…
The rekindled attraction to Twinkle and his arrival to India was much to his own mental health… in that alone city, he has been failing to control his thoughts.
The nights used to laugh at him and would not allow him to sleep for long hours.
He didn’t want to remember anything about that fateful night… he chose not to watch anything that forced him to that. he knew at some point he has to start living with that…but his healing needed time.

Changing into a comfortable trouser and T-shirt he exited his room to meet his mother who had been waiting for him to hear what happened at the hospital and how was Dhruv.
His mother and Bua were sitting on the bed and looked tensed when he entered with a bottle of water.
“Kunj… you need coffee or tea?” Shail asked as soon as he spotted him with the bottle.
“it would be great, Bua… and please a quick tea, I have to go back to the hospital,” he added politely.
“of course son.” throwing a little smile Shail made her way to the kitchen.
“any development Kunj?” did she wake up?” unable to keep with her worries she asked him.
“No ma, I think her body is taking rest…it was already a hectic day…let her sleep for a while.” sitting beside his sleeping daughter he assured his mother.
“where are Uncle, auntie, and Kas?” he was cut midway.
“They left for his hotel, I insisted because they traveled all the way from Manali so they needed to take rest,” Anjana answered.
“you did the best thing… and I have a feeling by morning she will be fine… how was this little girl” caressing the hairs of the baby he enquired.
By now he has stretched his legs on the bed taking the support of his left elbow and was facing his mother.
“She is not that small, she stays with me so it was not that bad… also, Kasturi had already made her sleep so we didn’t have any problem.” the light talks were needed to start the actual talks.
“Kunj…How is he?” with a grief-stricken voice she asked about Dhruv and more than grief it was an uncertain terror in her voice.
“i don’t know Ma… he is being operated, some fractures and a clot, hematoma.” without looking at her he kept caressing the little baby’s soft hairs.
“he will be fine…how was Neha?” she didn’t know why but at this time she felt herself a criminal and to decrease that guilt she denied the situation.
She was equally responsible for Neha’s condition.
She was not wrong but wrong has happened to Neha and when she finally started recovering well, life has to offer her this.
It was no time for getting emotional but she could not stop the tears.
“Pray for both of them Ma…” he didn’t know why he could not look into his mother’s eyes at this point.
“i bought a few biscuits, have this…don’t know when will you return?” Kunj was always Shail’s son and she was always a little too sensitive for him.
“Thanks, Bua… and please don’t leave her alone.” sitting straight on the bed and putting the pillow-wall along the edge for the little girl’s safety, he came forward to have the cup of tea.
“i’ll come with you, Kunj…” Anjana declared after a brief moment of silence.
“Okay.” perhaps he was waiting for her to say this since Savitri, Neha’s mother needed her friend in this crucial moment.
