PART 45 B
The grim faces in the corridor needed a ray of light, a ray of hope… Neha’s father was constantly in talks with someone.
Neha and her mother were sitting in a corner holding each other’s hands.
Abhi was the first one to spot the mother-son duo making their way towards them and without hiding the look of disgust, he ignored them.
The footsteps were finally being heard by Savitri and she looked sidewise and spotted them… “what has happened Uma… what was his fault?” with blank eyes she looked at Uma.
“don’t worry…hold yourself up.” in times like this how to say everything would be alright. She had faced such times, how to give someone false hopes unless Doctors himself declare something.
in the next hours, they were told Doctors had removed the clot but this brain hematoma was something serious because of the looks they shared with them.

It was a serene place with trees everywhere and hills peeping through the horizon.
A waterfall was nearby and she was able to hear the sound of water, the sound of its flow. She set out to search the falls.
“Not this way… we need to take the left turn Twinkle.” his voice boomed behind her.
“no way… we are taking the right one, I can hear it is coming from this direction.” she didn’t agree to him.
Her lavender color saree was playing with the cool winds and was making it hard to focus the road ahead.
“wait for me, Twinkle…” he shouted still inside the small hut.
“If you don’t come in a minute, I’ll leave you here.” her voice was filled with mischief.
“wait for me Wifey…”
Many moments passed and he didn’t turn up… Suddenly the bright day started turning grey and dark clouds started covering their hut.
She ran towards the hut afraid if the weather and of that anxiety that was bubbling up.
but she spotted blood… fresh blood oozing out from inside the hut.
“You okay…Yuvraj?” she forced the gate but before she could have seen the insides she was pulled back.
The strong arms pulled her to him, covered her trembling body with their warm one… it was not Yuvraj, he was not Yuvraj.
“Nothing is wrong…” he whispered and hugged her tight.
His arms reminded her he was no stranger, she knew this hug… she had heard those heartbeats sometime back, she knew who he was…
Like a strong current has touched her, she pushed him sideways and walked ahead without seeing his face…
She noticed the day has brightened again, Trees were moving lightly as if dancing on the tone of mild wind that was touching her.
Everything was normal then what happened a few moments back…where was Yuvraj?
She turned and there was nothing, No hut, No blood …Nothing.
“Yuvraj… she ran to the spot where the hut was.
“We need to leave this place before dark…” the same voice who has assured nothing was wrong requested her.
“But where is Yuvraj?” she asked without looking at him.
“He was never…” before he could have completed she turned to him.
It was Kunj… soaked in blood, his white shirt has been strained badly.
In a moment the serene atmosphere turned misty, the winds turned colder and started hurting her bones… the mild fragrance of flowers changed into the raw smell of gasoline.
“We need to go back, Twinkle…” he walked to her and behind him she spotted a burning bike, the flames getting strong with each second.
“Kunj…” unable to breathe she sat on her bed, the dream was so vivid… it had a bike she had seen somewhere for sure and the smell was so real like something was happening around her.
“Hey, what happened?” his sleep broke with the cry.“are you okay…” without delay of a second he switched on the side lamps.
“you okay…? ignoring his question she started checking his t-shirt.
“i think it was some dream… nothing is wrong,” he assured her.
But the words were the same from the dream and in this vulnerable condition, she touched his hands and started chanting a few holy verses inside her heart.
He wanted to tell her something but at this moment he just wanted to keep staring at her… whatever it was it surely helped him getting closer to her.
“How are you feeling,” he asked her as she has been unconscious for 7 to 8 hours now.
“don’t know, I feel a headache, I feel strange.” perhaps she didn’t remember the incident or thought it a part of her dream because her voice didn’t hint she was upset.
“How can I sleep in this…” she was about to leave the bed when she noticed the Saree.
“ouch…” she felt a pain shooting through her whole body as she attempted to stand up.
“what happened …” he jumped from the bed and supported her when she held her waist and almost fell to the bed.
“I don’t know, it hurts like hell…” she tried to put some force on the lower lumbers that were hurting like hell.
“When did this happen?” She asked confusedly trying to remember something like a fall or some impact she might have suffered.
“you might have sprained it… here I’ll help you. Come with me.” not mentioning anything about the earlier incident, he snaked his arm around her.
“its okay, I’ll manage.” the dream was just a bad dream and those blurry images of an accident were part of some another dream. she thought in her mind.
“No worries, I got you.” standing her on her feet he helped her to the washroom door.
“I am waiting here…if you need anything then tell me,” he told her.
“you want to change?…actually you should change, the saree is heavy.” moving to the cupboard for something comfortable for her he switched on the big white bulbs and room filled with the light.

It had been more than 24 hours without proper rest and his eyes were starting to hurt … 5:20 in the morning, the clock told him and the early winter winds were already calling him in the blanket.
The night was one of the toughest in his life and only after the hours-long surgery and stitching sessions of Dhruv they could manage to take a breath…
They reached home just an hour back or so…
The washroom door clicked and she came out, limping slightly.
“you want any medicine or something…” he asked, his eyes looked tired in the dim room.
“No, I’ll manage… I am sorry I disturbed your sleep.” she answered taking a moment to herself. She was thirsty she felt as her throat dried up all of a sudden.
Coating her lips with a layer of balm, she walked to the water bottle kept on the table.
“Okay then, call me if you need anything…and it’s early, you can sleep for a few more hours,” he suggested before covering himself in the blanket as sleep started overpowering.
“What is this… Kunj.”
He looked at her and found her standing with the stained shirt. “shit…” it was too late he clicked his tongue and moved to her.
“it’s nothing… come here and sit with me.”
“No… I thought it was some dream…but something has happened…”
“Are you okay…one min.” as if she was able to remember something her forehead creased for a moment and in the next moment.
“Is he okay…?” she asked him still holding the shirt in her hands
“Yeah…Dhruv is fine,” he replied holding her close.
“and that man…?” her eyes started burning and she felt her breaths were strained all of a sudden.
“first sit down… and here throw it somewhere.” snatching the shirt from her he threw it away.
“Kunj… tell me first.” she was getting desperate.
“here have some water.” he forced the glass into her fist.
“No..taking a deep breath she ignored the glass. “First tell me.”
“Twinkle… have some water first.” this time he was strict and without wriggling anymore she drank it all in one go.
“We don’t know what will happen to him… we need to wait for a few hours,” he answered taking the glass back.
She clutched his wrist hard… “are you telling me he is dying.”
The things that went on that dark January 11 night were still so fresh and if not then she was reminded about it along with some new details her mind started was rolling the tassel multiple times.
She left the bed and walked to the window… in no time A new sun was about to call a new day but her life was thrown into that dark pit with no escape.
“don’t move… it will increase.” referring the backache he called her.
“doesn’t matter.” she murmured.
“of course it matters…” he stepped along her and looked at her.
“There is no one as cruel and as kind more than your own destiny… so stop blaming yours..” without completing the words he turned to his left and closed every distance between them.
Pulling her to him softly he stared into her eyes… “don’t you dare drop those tears…
The soft actions melted her heart and filled with something new, a positive air of hopes and anticipation perhaps.
She could inhale the beautiful fragrance of shivali flowers and at some distance, a few unknown birds were started calling each other.
With the innocence of a man, he touched her in the most sensual way a man can touch their woman…
She felt the quivering, she felt the slight tremble but it was replaced with the power they held, the moment he felt her inhale which parted her lips…
It was that one moment when he completed the kiss and pressing her more to him he kept the moment going on.
Shy moments ended with ferocity taking their place…
The kiss lasted for a long moment, she felt paralyzed with the underlying peace.
of course, it was different… it was neither forced nor requested…it was a husband’s righteous action to calm his wife.
She kept her hands on his back and supported her which unknowingly pressed her more to him.
Whether it happened at the moment or what but suddenly he pushed her more to him and a cry left her…“eshhh…”
he has pressed the wrong bone and the ache shook her insides.
“sorry… it was a sight to see his embarrassed face.
