Madhav Shharma, known for his role of Tej Khan in Rishton Ka Chakravyuh, gained a lot of weight during the lockdown period. He was worried about his carrier and how he will score any new role with his recent weight gain. In a recent interview with BT, the actor shared, “It hasn’t been an easy road. The lockdown was an especially difficult period for me. It was a time when I completely lost my patience. Once, I even threw my phone in anger because I was so tired of being at home and unable to do anything. I had gained weight and was worried about getting work. Later, I started exercising in my garden area with a couple of friends and got back in shape. Getting back on track slowly gave me the confidence to start giving auditions. I’m so glad the lockdown is over because I was really frustrated. There were days when my family used to tell me to give up acting and join my father’s business.”
Talking about the difficulties that come along with the profession, he said “It is tough to survive in this industry, but I don’t focus on the difficulties of this profession. God has shown me the way and I have full faith that he will help me ahead. I was studying law before getting into acting and I had decided that if I don’t clear my law exam, I would try my luck in acting. And that is exactly what happened. My mother supported my decision. I don’t care about the politics that happen in this industry because if it’s meant to be, that role will come to me,”
When asked how he managed to make the transformation a success, he said, “Earlier, I used to be 120 kg. Acting was never on my mind. It was my father, who pushed me and told me to work on myself and try my luck. I lost 40 kgs when I started my career in 2013 and even participated in a couple of pageants. But during lockdown, I again gained weight due to stress. I motivated myself and did crossfit and modified my eating habits. I came down to 85 kgs and lost some more weight recently. I prefer home food, which keeps me healthy. Currently, I am even doing intermittent fasting. A good workout regime and the right diet have helped me greatly.”
