In a recent episode of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, the cast was seen discussing iconic songs while they indulged in a musical night.
During the discussion, Lata Mangeshkar’s iconic song Aye Mere Watan Ke Logon was incorrectly said to have been released in 1965. After the episode was aired, the makers took to their official Twitter handle to issue an apology.
They wrote, “We would like to apologise to our viewers, fans and well-wishers. In today’s episode, we inadvertently mentioned 1965 as the year of release of song “Aye Mere Watan Ke Logon”. However, we would like to correct ourselves. The song was released on 26th Jan, 1963. We promise to be mindful in the future. We appreciate your support and love.”
For the unversed, Bhide gets his tape recorder repaired from Baaga and decided to play some songs on it. Bhide played Lata Mangeshkar’s iconic song which makes everyone nostalgic. Talking about the song, Dadaji shared the wrong year saying that the song was composed as a tribute to the Indian soldiers, who were martyred in the Indo-China war in 1965. While the reason was correct, the war happened in 1962, and the song was released on Republic Day, 1963.
