Recap : Manik’s care for Nandini
Let’s continue
(Nandini’s POV) The meeting went on for half the day and yet, we reached no particular decision. I guess I need to come back one more day. Manik kept calling me to come back. Such a nag! I never asked him to do this. I Apologised and excused myself off for the rest of the day. As I was going down, I missed my footing and almost fell down when someone caught me.
(Man) “Are you alright?”
(Nandini) “Yes.”
(Nandini’s POV) My fever hasn’t gone down at all. I am barely able to see anything.
(Man) “Nandini! You are burning up.”
(Nandini POV) I am not able to see who the man was and within one sweep, I was off the floor and in that man’s arms.
(Nandini strained her eyes and spoke in a very feeble voice) “Cabir Bhai! How come you are here? You don’t have a board today?”
(Cabir) “True, I don’t have a meeting today but I am this Company’s President. Of course, I will come here. Why did you come today? You are burning up. Did you take your temperature?”
(Nandini) “Umm… No.”
(Cabir) “Don’t lie to me. You know what will happen if you lie to me.”
(Nandini in a very low voice) “104”
(Cabir) “YOU NUT! You are coming home with me. Rishabh cannot look after you.”
(Nandini’s POV) I was about to say something.
(Cabir) “Shut up. Don’t open your mouth. I was just going back for lunch. You are Cabir. Just sleep till we get home.”
(Nandini’s POV) He held me close and went down. I drifted off to sleep immediately.
On the Other Side
(Manik’s POV) She texted me that she would be down in five minutes and she hasn’t come down still. What is she doing? Did she faint? When I was running horses, I saw someone come down carrying her and walking towards the car right in the front. I got down and went towards him.
(Manik) “Excuse me, Sorry to have burdened you, but can I take her back?”
(Cabir) “Who are you?”
(Manik’s POV) He held her closer. He asked me with such an authority, I was surprised. Someone who knows her?
(Manik) “She is staying with me. Her brother Rishabh is also living at my place.”
(Cabir) “WHAT? Staying With You? She didn’t tell me anything about moving out from the hotel. Anyway, tell Rishabh that Cabir has taken her home. She will be back once she is fine. Also,”
(Manik’s POV) Cabir took Nandini and moved to his car, he requested Me to open the door. I did the same. She was looking so innocent while she was sleeping. But this man did not even let me take back her. I can’t see her in this condition. I want to hug her and take care of her but because of this “Your Highness” I am not ableto protect or take care of her. I don’t know why I feel like this for Nandini but I feel as if he is taking a part of my soul. OMG what am I thinking. Soon I was out of my turmoil when Cabir Spoke.
(Cabir) “here is her cell phone. If any calls from clients come, tell him to say that she is sick and ask him to reschedule the meetings. Can you do this for me, Mr…..”
(Manik) “Malhotra, Manik Malhotra.”
(Cabir) “Thank you. Have a good day, Mr. Malhotra.”
(Manik’s POV) He left. It was like he was king and I was his subordinate. He held her like she was his. I wonder if he is her lover. If he was her lover, then why is she not staying with him? I had lots of questions for which I wanted answers. Wait! I didn’t ask for his name. What do I tell Rishabh? When I went back I had told Rishabh everything. Rishabh then gave a sigh of relief and said he must be Cabir Bhai, only he can have that affect on Nandini Didi. Manik was shocked and jealous but still confused about his feelings. I couldn’t accept that I am falling in love. Or am I just infatuated with her? Nope, it’s not love, its infatuation. But I was still thinking was Mr. Cabir her boyfriend. I must not let things bother me. For the next two days there was no sign of Nandini. I was not able to keep my mind away from her. Then on the third day when I entered the club, I saw Rishabh also had come back from his school and he seemed happy. As soon as I went near him, Rishabh jumped and told that Nandini Didi is back, she had escaped from Cabir Bro’s house.
Then they both ran towards her room.
(On the Other side) Nandini was relieved coming back to the club and was doing her work when Rishabh jumped on her and hugged on her.
(Rishabh) “I don’t tell you a bye and you fall sick. This is really bad.”
Manik who was witnessing all the act between siblings and seeing her smile, he started feeling something nice.

(Seeing her he had an urge to hug her but he knew that aint possible..

(Manik’s dream broke when Nandini spoke to him)
(Nandini’s POV) The very thought of what Rishabh told made me laugh and happy because he was the entire world to me Apart from my work. Rishabh seeing me alright then ran towards his room for studying. Then I had noticed Manik Malhotra standing there.
(Nandini) “I am so sorry that I had misused your kindness the other day. I never realised until I woke up the next day that I was with Cabir”
Manik nodded “ok”.
(Third Person’s POV)
Manik asked Nandini how she was and she replied that she was much better after the rest that she had got at Cabir’s home because Cabir had locked her in a room.(Cabir did this so that Nandini could rest and recover fast). Nandini then quickly added that please do not show any concern in front of Rishabh because he feels that you might become his future JIJU. Manik hearing this was shocked and he immediately left Nandini’s room.
The entire week Nandini and Manik did not cross each other’s path.
(Nandini’s POV) Now since I am a consultant for the Malhotras I was glad that even in workplace I never crossed path with him. Mr.Roy was very helpful and he knew exactly the amount of work that is needed for the amount the Malhotra group was paying me.
(Nandini)“Mr. Roy, you never informed me about the change in the President’s position before my Appointment.”
(Roy) “Was it a problem to you, Ms. Murthy?”
(Nandini’s POV) It was a problem. Not that, I can voice it out.
(Nandini) “Not at all. But, is it alright to have such a young President?” Young and reckless she thought of him in her mind
(Roy) “You need not worry about Mr. Malhotra. I have known him since he was a child. He listens to everyone, takes their advice if it is relevant, he is particularly devoted to his mother but acts like he doesn’t care about her. He has never crossed swords with her. Sometimes, it is envious to see such a son who tells what is troubling him to his parents and listens to what they say. I wish my daughter was like him. He is also a good leader. He has very good ideas and strategy for the companies. He is what you call a proper businessman.”
(Nandini’s POV) He kept continuing, pouring praises of him. No matter how a troublesome person he is, he manages to create a good impression of himself. I never thought Manik was a mama’s boy. Young master of a big house, no wonder he does what he wants and talks without respecting any person and still manages to create the best impression on others. I don’t want to listen about him.
(Nandini) “Oh! You have a daughter, Mr.Roy? What is she doing?” (So she just bluntly changed the topic)
(Roy) “She is in middle school.”
(Nandini) “Then, she has time. My brother is rebellious, even though he is going to finish his high school. As long a child rebels, it means she/he is growing up healthy.”
(Roy) “You talk like a parent.”
(Nandini) “I have to take care of my brother, though, it has been a short time since.”
(Roy) “What about your parents, Ms. Murthy?”
(Nandini) “They are no longer with me.”
(Roy) “I am sorry to hear that. It must be tough.”
(Nandini’s POV) Tough? That is the slightest of the words to describe my feelings. Well, get back to work, Nandini and therefore she again changes the topic and straight gets back to work : “So Mr. Roy, about this detail and then we got back to work again.”
(Nandini’s POV) It was Friday night and hence I decided that I would go and search for houses along with Luke who has been helping me to find houses.
(Nandini) “Hello Luke. It’s Nandini here. Can we go for house hunting Tomorrow. I am kind of free.”
(Luke) “Yes, Nandini and straight to the point. Yes we could go. How is madam free Tomorrow? Is Rishabh going to join us?”
(Nandini) “No, Rishabh is not joining us. He has gone over for a sleep over to his friend’s house this entire weekend”
(Luke) “Ooooh, so let’s meet up Tomorrow morning around 9.30am. So is it a Breakfast date then.”
(Nandini Angry but with a calm voice) “Not funny, no weird ideas Luke. It’s just House hunting and nothing else. I will reach there by 9.30am”
(Luke) “Ok.. You never let a boy come near other than your brother and few of your friends. That is mean. Anyways Good Night. See you Tomorrow”
Nandini hears the voice when she turns back and finds herself shocked and irritated.
