At a concert venue, a car stopped and a girl stepped out wearing a black gown with her black curled hair in front of her shoulders. A man in a bodyguard’s uniform walked beside her. She smiled at everyone in the crowd and walked forward. She stepped on the stage, everyone cheered. Nandini Moorthy, a model, singer as well as an actress, a beautiful girl, who wanted to live a simple life. Her parents had put many restrictions on her life and because of this, she felt caged. She had a bodyguard named Manik.
“Hello everyone, I am here to sign my new song, excited?,” she asked smilingly and Manik smiled looking down. “Friends and fans, thank you for your love and support,” she said and gave a flying kiss. Everyone smiled. She began singing.
Manzilein rusva hain..
Khoya hai raasta
Aaye le jaaye..
Itni si iltaza
Ye meri zamaanat hai
Tu meri amaanat hai haan..
Aaa aa aa..
Mujhko iraade de
Kasmein de, vaade de
Meri duaaon ke isharon ko sahare de
Dil ko thikaane de
Naye bahaane de
Khwabon ki barishon ko
Mausam ke paimaane de
Apne karam ki kar adayein..
Kar de idhar bhi tu nigaahein
Sunn raha hai na tu
Ro rahi hoon, main
Sun raha hai na tu
Kyun ro rahi hoon main
Sunn raha hai na tu
Ro rahi hoon, main
Sun raha hai na tu
Kyun ro rahi hoon main
Yaara.. Aaa..
Waqt bhi thehra hai
Kaise kyun yeh huaa
Kaass tu aise aaye
Jaise koi duaa
Tu rooh ki raahat hai
Tu meri ibaadat hai..
Aa aaa..
Apne karam ki kar adayein..
Kar de idhar bhi tu nigaahein

She sang melodiously, everyone clapped. “Thank you,” she said and stepped down the stage. She went through the crowd with Manik following her, she wrote autographs for everyone and took selfies as well. As soon as she stepped out of there, she went to the car, Manik was about to open the door for her and she was about to do the same, their hands touched and they had an eyelock. “I can do my work on my own,” she said annoyingly and he nodded.
She sat in the car and the driver drove off with Manik’s scooter riding beside their car. “Stop the car driver,” she said suddenly. The driver stopped the car and Manik too stopped his bike. “Driver I want a chocolate,” she said and he looked back at her. “Right now,” she said sternly but he continued looking at her as if saying where-will-I-get-it-here. “I said right now, go,” she said fully irritated and he went. She slid down the window. “Manik, I want water,” she said to Manik who was standing leaning to his bike.
“Ma’am water, there’s no shop here, I will go and see, you stay here,” he said and went. As soon as he was also out of sight, she got down the car and looked around once more to make sure that the driver and her bodyguard were not there. She went to Abeer’s bike and sat on it, she unlocked its handles and smiled riding it. “I so miss these things,” she said as a slow breeze touched her. Manik came back with water and she continued riding and suddenly fell on floor.
She got injured and seeing this, Manik ran to her. “Ma’am,” he shouted. Later he got her to home and her mother did first aid to her wounds. Manik stood with his head hung down low. “Is it paining a lot?,” asked her mother. “No, a little, but if my so called bodyguard couldn’t save me from this small accident so how will he save me from the attacks that is a daily happening? You should fire him dad,” Nandini said and her dad fired him from the job. She smiled to herself victoriously.
Next day, she met her cousin sister Mukti. “Nanz, you should call him back, he was a good man I have also seen it, you don’t know how others are, eyeing girls with bad intention,” she said to Nandini after she told her everything. “He made me feel as if I can’t do anything on my own,” she replied. “Your father did that for your safety, think about it, you blamed him for your mistake,” Mukti said and she got thinking. “Yes, you’re right, I will tell dad to call him back,” Nandini said and Mukti nodded. Next day, Manik came back to job.
“It’s good you called Manik back, today is house warming party of my friend, you have to come, you know about constant attacks on you right?,” Nandini’s dad said to her. “Dad, today is my day, my birthday and today I want to have party, I want to dance,” she said getting upset and Manik looked on. “You are endangered, I have got many threatening letters and calls,” her dad warned her. “Uncle, if she don’t want to go, then don’t force her, I will take care of her,” Manik said and Nandini looked at him regretting to blame him. “If something happens to her then?,” her dad asked.
“I won’t let anything happen to her,” Manik assured him and they all went from there. “Sorry,” she apologized. “For what?,” he asked. “For that day,” she said, he nodded in positive that its OK. “And thanks for saving me from that boring house warming party,” she said. “It was my job,” he replied. “I was saying that it’s my birthday, can you make a cake for me please?,” she asked cutely and he nodded. “Your fans sent gifts for you,” he told her. “Oh, I will unpack them till then, where are they?,” she asked. “In your room,” he said.
She went. He was done with making cake for her and he kept it on table and went to check on her. She was unpacking her gift and saw it was a dress. Just then a man came inside her room from balcony and when she was about to enter the washroom, the man held her arm and pointed a gun at her. She screamed. “Who are you?,” she said panicking badly and Manik came there and beated the man and he escaped. “You OK?,” he asked. “Yes I am OK,” she said.
He saw the chit of the unpacked gift as she went to washroom. “This is the same handwriting that was on the threatening letters,” Manik said to himself and took it with him. Nandini came back wearing a white dress that was thigh length. Manik was matching the handwriting of the letters and the chit and it matched. “How am I looking?,” Nandini asked him. “Nice,” he said. “Oh you made the cake let’s cut it,” she said and brought the knife. “You sing the happy birthday song,” she said and he sung but wasn’t smiling.
“While singing, you can smile too,” she said and he smiled as if he’s forced to do so, seeing this Nandini giggled and cut the cake. She fed it to him. “Won’t you eat? It’s your birthday,” he said. “Yes, but haven’t you celebrated birthday before? Person cuts the cake and feeds it to another person and gets fed in return,” she said continuously giggling on him. “Oh,” he said and fed it to her. “I am really feeling bored, take me somewhere out, I really miss bike rides,” she said. “But you fell last time,” he said. “Now you will ride,” she said and he agreed.
They sat on his bike and she held his shoulders as he rode the bike. “Stop the bike, I want ice cream,” she said like a child. “OK, but take care,” he said keeping his eye on her. Suddenly he saw a masked man go to Nandini, he ran to her and punched the man before he reached her. “What happened?,” she asked. “Nothing, just came to check on you,” he said and she ate ice cream as he rode away. “Thank you so much, you made my day,” she said and he smiled.
Next day, Manik told her a shocking news. “I got to know that the dress you wore today and the chit it’s packet had, it had Mukti’s writing,” he said. “What the hell? Nanz why will I do this?,” Mukti said defending herself. “Get out of here!” Nandini shouted at Manik and he went. She ran to her room teary eyed. The person she first hated, now she was deeply in love with him but didn’t knew it. She sat on the couch in her room and leaned to its arm and cried hard recalling all her moments with him.
She fell asleep while crying but was awakened by an unfamiliar phone ringing. She got up and picked the phone on the floor. It had a message and seeing the number of the sender, she was shocked to the core. “This number is of Muku,” she said. The message said, “Shift out of the country, now its a danger, police may catch you-7:59pm”
Nandini is alone in the house now, its a good chance, attack..!!-7:00am
She went outside with the phone. “Mukti!” she shouted angrily. “What happened?,” she asked. “This is your number and it was blo*dy you who had hired that man to attack me!” She said enraged. “Why will I do this?,” she asked. “Beta you are more like real sisters, how can you blame her?,” her dad asked. “Dad, have a look, this is her number,” she said showing the phone and her dad was speechless. “You messaged on this number without knowing this phone is with me, it might’ve fallen when that attacker came to attack me,” Nandini said.
“Yes I did it, uncle singing was my passion too, she became a singer, what happened of me?,” Mukti said. “That lady chose my song so what’s my fault in it? I angered on Manik because of you, he’s better than you, I was mad to shout on him every time,” Nandini said. “Before that I loved you but when my passion got discouraged I hated you,” Mukti said gritting her teeth. “I thought you’re my friend, I am going to Manik, I love him,” she said and ran out of the house. “I don’t believe this, you did so bad with my daughter when we all cared for you as another daughter,” Nandini’s dad said disappointed and went. Nandini came out of house and saw Manik was about to leave.
“Won’t you even hear my sorry?” She asked and he looked at her. “I am sorry, I don’t want this chaos, this superstar life, take me far from here, I love you Manik, main sirf Manik ki Nandini ban k rehna chahti hoon,” she said and hugged him. He hugged her back and they sat on bike and drove off from there.
