“Oh..then you need to pay for it!”,I replied uncaring before having my drink….
Did he really think himself good enough to break our eyelock…Fool!!…
“Ice cream or cake…”,her eyes met back mine….Her lips parted with a childish smile looking me..I couldn’t help smiling back at her…
Heavens! this girl..!! I shook my head… Right now.,I know Am smiling like an idiot for no good reason….
“So.,its both! go ahead”,I sighed…
Everything of chocolate she loves..,her eyes gleamed as she placed an order for herself…Her lips twisted glaring me.,when I denied to have anything further…All this while,I did notice anger seeping through him.,watching her with me…!
Acknowledging his claptrap about their family with her puppet nods,she finished the cake in minutes…..”Take it slow”,I said irritated..
“Radhu loves cakes”,he grinned wide at my face..
Her orbs melted with pleasure when I shared her icecream..”Do you like this?”,she asked earnest…
“Too sweet to hold back”,she blinked at my words…
Enjoying that blockhead’s chagrin I dug my spoon more into the tub,playfully hitting hers..
“So how long have you been in love with each other?”,he asked after a minute
“That..Ramm.”
“Well..that’s really interesting one…I would tell you some other time….”,I interrupted her and intentionally shoved that ice cream tub over her..
He smiled at her retreating figure,and she glanced back us.,especially me before turning left towards wash room…
“You don’t know about Radhu…her choices keep changing…first it was me..now,it’s you….!!”,he smiled wide…”and Brahmin with Christian..?? That’s impossible..”,he laughed sipping the drink which he ordered for himself..
“Choices…!!! mmmm…I guess..You could be right… now a days she prefers chicken over potatoes…!”,
Why not respond his way…some times its fun to make fool of those who already are,yet not aware to themselves..
“What?…she eats chicken…?”,he reacted with a grave shock entertaining me….
I saw her walking hurriedly towards us..obviously fearing for the worse which had already popped its head out….
“I don’t care about anyone….I love her..and that’s enough..I will make her mine”,I moved placing a good sum for our order..
“You have changed a lot Radhu…”,he intervened before I could speak..
She stammered a little but glared me later which only sent wrong signals to that fool..
“He worries a lot for you…about our marriage…!! Very caring cousin brother you got”, I wrapped my left over her shoulder.,and that 5’7 feet fair complexioned idiot’s ears n nose flared watching us…
He doesn’t seem to be as soft as he looked like…
“Am not her brother”,he gritted his teeth and I could sense some thing to vibrate close to my left…She muffled her laugh staying comfortable in my hold..
“You turned one…and you are”,I remarked before bidding him…

Meeting that fellow was an useless one and I made the word more meaningful…completely useless..!!
“What did you say to him..?”,she asked,her lips thinned..
“That you are mine..!!”,I clipped and I saw her to smile a little..”and why did you laugh?”,I turned to face her..
She smiled wide this time,”You brother zoned him…he would have felt offended..”,she giggled a little….
“What made your alliance happen”,I asked…
I somewhere had a feel,that he wont let her go that easily….she being a sentimental fool would fall for his trap…! Never in my life I dreamt that I would worry to get my love..
“It’s normal here…! In south…Marrying the son or daughter of your mother’s brother…Some people follow it like tradition..more over its like the relationship has a right over the girl…!!”,she said looking away….”But its not a healthy one if you go with science”,she shrugged her shoulders…
Clearing few of my doubts about their customs and family,I was sure this isn’t of any easy as I felt before…
“What if they emotionally blackmail you on your mom’s name?”,I asked pin pointedly..
I don’t have the patience to cuddle her,if in future she blames that as a reason..
“You said Am yours…then why do you ask so?”,she snapped instantly…
She checked her watch before noticing the sunset from the car…!!
“Which place is this?”,she asked…
“Little afar from city…”,I held her chin to face me…
As usual her eyes widened a little,with a tinge of bright smile adorning her face.,she grasped my every feature…
“What do you find interesting in my face”,I asked like a stupid.,yet that was my doubt..
She was the Only one to look me like that,like no one else till date…even those girls who claimed to be madly in love with me hasn’t created this impact that she did…
“Your eyes…sharp like a sword….”,
Like a sword..!!
“Then”,I encouraged her out of curiosity…
“Your…li…ah.. umm..it’s getting…late…”,she composed herself but gave me a side eyed look when I sat still..
“Lips like that of rose petals”,I rubbed hers with my thumb and her eyes quickly glanced the surrounding….Her fingers slowly crushed the fabric to her fist…Those brown orbs after a moment twinkled straight to mine.,with a thrilling desire….She jerked when my mobile rang aloud…
“Cha..I was scared”,she mumbled…
“No fault from my side”,I pulled her cheeks and she whine competing with my ring tone…
With her gaze fixed outside the window,her jaw hung a little open admiring the sunset.,An enchanting view of sun bidding goodbye for the day…
It was indeed a cloudy evening.,with Sun hiding behind those densely packed velvety white cushions.,its wide spread vibrant rays gave a thin streak of golden outline to the clouds..
“Beautiful”,I said unconsciously leaning over my left watching along with her…
“Clouds are moving…”,
I turned listening her.,only to watch her eyes to roll with enthusiasm…One ardent fan of Nature !!
With dark clouds settling more.,the sky shone with variant colors….Shades of yellow and orange was what I was aware of…But No.,A shade of purple above Sunset bittersweet was indeed a surprise…The Sun peeped again,just before it was about to settle down finally,and the result of scattering,the blue sky smiled with freshly transforming colors…We sat enthralled watching the rapid changes happening before…
“Arrr”,her words trailed off noticing me close enough to her….Quickly averting her gaze downwards.,”Its getting late”,she said to my surprise..
Dint she enjoy watching sunset in this serene ambience…My mobile disturbed us with single and double rings…
“Sammy!”,I called agitated…
“Yea..Its me…then….”,she sing sang…It took me a second to find,she is teasing me…
“One more call..,You are gone!”,I gritted my teeth..
“Woo…Successfully I turned a bone..”,The line went dead before I could say something…
I found her starring outside..Snapping my words she turned silent within next few minutes…
What did I do..
“Where are we going…”,she asked…
“You finally spoke”, I mocked out of my fury…
“Am…am..sorry….I was little lost…”,she averted her gaze again..
“You should have a reason to apologize…and What happened now….”,I asked wondering on myself of how am I going to handle her…
“Reason…it’s there…!! I knew silence hurts…but I was thinking…about us…”,she said sagging herself more into the seat…
There is a real lot she was going through..yet..I don’t have a ounce of patience to listen all those…..
“You dint say about me to that fellow?”,I asked and her brows furrowed a little before realizing whom I meant..
“Haa..yes…!! I just tolerate him for my mom…!! He may lead unnecessary conflict regarding religious issues…that’s y…and I forgot to inform you…and….”
“Hmmm…so he ain’t any good fellow…”
“Fellow..!!”,she laughed a little at that…And continued on how they actually got engaged while they both weren’t in good terms any time before..Though she considered him to be a friend,with time she had realized he wasn’t worth for and he,who verbally harassed her when she was young,suddenly had turned sweet during her last visit to native..
“I think..he loves you”,I said on purpose and she retorted the very next second..
“Never..!! He believes am nowhere a match for him..! And this one in evening..its more like that of a permission…May be he would convince uncle”,she shook her head…her face turned sullen,drowning herself into something…
More than 20 minutes her silence was no less to a punishment.,yet I wanted her to giver her space…
“Why beach”,she shrieked when I pulled my car in that parking…
Did she bother to speak with me before..
A momentary thought crossed me and I said,”Its late so, lets stay here tonight…I will book a sea facing suite”,I winked pointing the resort building and her face turned darker like watching a ghost movie..
“No…we shall go home!”,she repeated again when I stood pulling her side,door open..
“Don’t chant..”,I pulled her and she stumbled hitting me..
“I will call my mom..”,she tried to move back to our car..
“Yep..we need to inform our parents…and believe me..after this stay of ours they will hurry up our wedding”..
It was tough enough to sound serious hiding my amusement watching her….It wasn’t any hard to guess her wild imagination…
“Ah..why…it isn’t too late..”,she walked along whining and shoving my hold on her…
“You don’t trust me?…”,I looked into her eyes as we reached before the sea…
“Its not like that…”,
“Then?,you don’t believe yourself…?”,my words came little unmanly trying to suppress my chuckle..
“No..”
“No????”,I faked a shock..
“No..no..I…I mean yes….”,her left dangled,little high in air while her gaze time and again shifted between my face and surroundings….
Crossing my arms,”Yes…??..!! I know..am hard to resist..still…you are a traditional girl…You shouldn’t..”,
“I dint ..you are twisting my words…”,she huffed….Gulping down a bile raising up her throat.,watching my stare.,”We will go home.”,she said like a kid…
“We are staying here..Its final”..
She turned dumbstruck listening my serious note…Her black tresses swayed as the breeze caressed us…
“I need to go home”,she repeated when I tucked her hair strands..
The dark sky began to gain its charm….”Someone loves star gazing..!”…I pointed at winking stars along with full moon…
“My God!!”,she exclaimed covering her mouth….
Stars were less..!. Forgetting our banter,she blinked at Moon and the sea..!! Those white tides raced fast like our minds and hearts that raced for peaceful love life….I could get her plight about our marriage…My legs pained ,but she stood slouchy resting over my front..raising her neck high //her concentration was on those stars now…
“Do you need a calculator”,I husked in her ears laughing..
“Am not counting..”,she quickly retorted..
I alone knew,how many times I had watched her counting stars…
“I love this place”,she smiled turning towards me…
“I just kidded”,I said enjoying the breeze..
“You scared me”,she punched my right.,narrowing her eyes..
I knew this would be the answer
“Scared of what???”..
She quivered blushing at my touch traveling down her waist..
“You like sea..I had never been to sea places…”,she spoke irrelevant …
“Goa is famous for Sea…!! Still…scared of what,my little….”
“Am not little”,she twisted expecting a slack hold.,but staggered at my strong one…
“You are !! Else reply me..”,
Squirming a little.,her cheeks glowed unable to meet my eyes… “Cat caught your tongue?”,
“Scared of ..dark..ghost…”
“And me?”
“No”
The retorts were always fast.. “Then?”
“Umm..am hungry…”,she mumbled
“But…”
“Please….you know what I meant…”,her plead turned into a scoff..
“I dont know..”,I pouted mimicking her…
“You look cute”,she kissed my cheek in a lightening speed and escaped from my hold…

“What have you ordered for yourself…”,she asked as I pulled my chair..
“Chicken fried rice and chicken lollipops..”,I thought to tease but she stayed unaffected with a smile…
“So….”
“I won’t mind “,she shrugged her shoulders..
But I dint want to spoil our first dinner just for a chicken…!! Edifying my taste buds from now on, would be better..
She mock glared when we were served with Phulkas..Naans and Paneer varieties…
“Liar…”
She murmured before serving herself….

“I dint expect a good traffic this time,”,I reasoned to her mom…
She stood detached mocking me…!She had been doing this now and then as I teased her…
“Did Ram…”
“He is quite happy with our relationship..A broad minded fellow he seems to be..”,I took the lead before she could blabber something to her mom’s hesitant query..
“But…”,her mom was about to ask something being unconvinced….
“Aunty..I will take care as I promised..”,I smiled assuring and her mom’s weakest smile turned bright..
She indeed did surprise me that afternoon when I spoke about Ram..!! I felt I should thank her for her trust on me…Without a moment of hesitation she sent Radhika with me.,the very next day I asked her hand…it spoke her trust on my family…over me!…I followed her gaze to hit at Radhika,who still stared outside,ignoring us…
Her mom extended me a folder and looked her surprised before walking back into their flat…
“See you soon”,I smacked her head and her puppy glare amused me like always..
“Arj…hmm….when are you leaving…”,she asked meekly when I descended those quirky stairs..
“Tomorrow…”,I said leaning against the wall few steps away from her..
The very instant her face lost its liveliness..
“Am not…”,I quickly held myself from spilling out my little suspense…She smiled a minute later and leaped into my embrace when I signaled too…
“Tomorrow..when.?..”,she mumbled in between her half tearing sobs..
“Evening..!! Will you come to Airport.”,I asked securing her more inside me….
“Will ask mom”,she murmured a miss you,before a chaste kiss on my left cheek
“What will I get as a miss you gift”,I asked as low as I could…
Good that it was almost past 10.,no trace of human race to disturb our moment….
“I will be waiting for you…I hadn’t….even in my…day dream expected that you too would love me back…your cold stares was enough to scare me,that I hardly imagined a life together….”, she pulled her head back “Thank you so much…!! I felt I lived myself after you proposed me…..”
She confessed her heart and mind locking her brown orbs into mine…
“I did convey…”, I said defensive…
“But you..you…hmm,..I had no courage….”,she lowered her gaze…”It feels like a dream”,she said with a pleasant wide smile….
Dream!!! She did pretend to be unaffected keeping her love under her hat.,and had let me to oscillate between love and dare…Stealing away my serenity.,here she calls this to be a dream?!
“So its not a dream.”,I winked when she yelped at my twist on her waist…
She stayed glued to me unrelenting.,astonishing me….She did mask her worries with a smile.,and I missed convincing her….An assuring hug would have calmed her ruffled feathers… “Feared on something?”,I asked acute…she nodded negative…
Wasn’t she worried about her mom….
“So…??.”,I encouraged her after a moment of silence…
“I love you So much Arj…Arrr Ferrr…”,she winked smiling….
“Seems you have something else to say”,I let her down faking a tired face..
“That….”,her words turned to a scowl watching me to relax my arms,
“You’re teasing me again!! …am not fat…don’t lift me next time”,she said slapping my extended palms
“Whoa…anyways…bring me my gift my little fluffy beauty”,I pecked her lips and turned around.,but laughed hearing her say,”chiiii…no….”
She literally makes me forget everything….if not the continuous buzz of my phone,I would end up making a fool outta myself chatting till late night…

“Finally.,the Romeo is here”,Sam announced when I locked the door…
“Sammy….”, My strict voice was of no use..
“Did you get my permission before having a date with my friend…!! You scared Neil with your rules when it was me…and now..you went like a ..”
“For God’s sake,that wasn’t even a date…!! She took me to meet that fool Ram..”,I tried to divert the topic walking ahead.
“Did you hear that Radhu…”,Sam’s voice turned secretive..
I was taken aback listening that…Was she here..?! No way…! I did lock the door…may be in call….I turned around and saw Sam to hold her mobile like a life line….Girls..!! What was the need to call Sam now?
“Well…it wasn’t that bad..we had a good time”,I immediately voiced little aloud..
“See..I told you…that’s love magic…”,Sam ran to dad…My mom laughed when he gave few notes with a defeated face..
“You had a bet on me!!”,I asked shocked…
But was greeted back with a big round of laughter….
I was miffed, Albeit I enjoyed watching them making fun on me..!! Had they been waiting for such a moment…?? I felt relieved of some untold burden at that moment..Sam literally danced earning notes one after other…She had missed all this fun…Though dad made faces,I know he would be enjoying the moment..
“Having fun dad?..”,I asked crossing my arms…
“And who is leaving to Goa”,mom walked towards me,smothering her laugh ..
She always get my note… Like exactly..!! Now a days I get to see her like this…smiling heartily…teasing my dad…
“Dad!”.. I chuckled hitting a hi-five…
And my mom leaned over me laughing at that dramatic shock reaction of my dad….”Melodramatic”,My mom rolled her eyes..
And If this Melodramatic.,what would My little Darling do tomorrow…Right then.,my mobile beeped with her message demanding our pics…
I moved scrolling our moments together at dinner…Her bright smile and funny poses….and that one which accidentally got snapped…Her admiring pose on something before.,oh..that was me before her…
