Radhika woke in the morning. She got ready and went down to prepare breakfast. She finished preparing and waited for Arjun. She waited for a long time, he didn’t turn up. Still she kept waiting. She then saw it was 11:00 AM. She was bewildered as Arjun never slept in so late. She went to the room and checked. He was still sleeping. She went to him and tried to wake him up. He didn’t wake up. Radhika panicked. She thought if the food had affected him. She checked him, there was no sign of fever or anything that could be wrong. She called up everyone and asked. They said that they had no problem and they were fine. Karthik and Nandini asked they were needed, but Radhika said she could manage. Arjun laughed silently at her reaction, with his eyes closed and biting his lower lip .

(He was awake all the while!! ????… Is this the way to play with someone?! ??)

Radhika panicked even more now. She went to him and shook him hard.

She said crying “Arjun.. Arjun please get up. Please.”

Arjun couldn’t take it anymore. He wanted to play with her, not to make her cry. He then caught hold of her waist and pulled her, making her fall on him. Radhika was shocked. She was on him and when she looked down at him,he was smiling. Radhika was angry. He was acting all the while.

Radhika threw an angry look and tried to get off, but he didn’t let go. He pulled her even more close, making her fall on him completely. She looked at him when he shook her hard.

He said “I was just playing. You got so scared.”

She said angrily “Arjun let go.”

He said “sorry.”

She said “this is not the way to play with someone.”

He said “I’m sorry. Pleeeaaassseee.”

He held his ears and made a puppy face. He looked so cute. Radhika beat his chest hard and laughed burying her face deep into his chest. He hugged her tight.

She got up and said “now get up. Breakfast’s going cold.”

He said “OK.”

He came down after a while. They had breakfast. Radhika kept looking around the house. Arjun saw this.

He asked “what are you looking at?”

She said “I’m going to miss this house.”

He said “me too.”

She said “I’ll miss bhai too.”

He said “hmmmmm. True that.”

He went to office. Radhika spent the day at home. It was a boring one. She spoke to Nandini in between. Arjun came home early. He came and saw Radhika sleeping on the sofa. He carried her to the room and put her on the bed. She woke up and looked up at him.

She asked “when did you come?!”

He said “just now.”

She said “I didn’t prepare dinner. Sorry. I’ll go right now.”

She got up to leave, but Arjun caught hold of her. He made her sit on the bed and he too sat next to her.

He said “let’s go out for dinner.”

She got excited and asked “really?!”

He said “yes. Now go get ready.”

Sent got up excited, gave him a small kiss on the lips and went to the cupboard and picked up a dress and went to change. Arjun just smiled. He got his morning kiss alright.

Radhika got ready and came out. She was wearing a red lace dress. Arjun too was ready. She looked beautiful. He couldn’t take his eyes off her. She had very little makeup and her hair let loose. She smiled at him, he too did. He came to her and kissed her forehead. He caressed her cheek. He then held her hand and led her out out of the house. They drove off and reached the venue in half an hour. Radhika and Arjun walked in. Radhika was about to sit in a table, Arjun stopped her.

She looked at him and asked “what?”

He said “not here. Come with me” and pulled her with him.

Just then a lady came to them. She seemed to be like an apprentice. She was young and looked prettier than anyone else in the hotel.

She smiled and said “yes sir. Your table is ready. Good evening ma’am.”

Radhika smiled at her. Radhika had a lot of unanswered questions running in her mind. She just kept staring at Arjun.

Arjun smiled back and said “thank you.”

The young girl said “this way sir.”

Arjun nodded in agreement and started to follow the girl. Radhika couldn’t understand what was going on. She just went with him. She kept staring at him all the while, and Arjun kept smiling and he held her waist tight, making her stick close to him. She understood that he was up to something for sure. They kept walking. They finally stopped at a door.

The girl turned towards Arjun and said smiling “have a pleasant dinner sir. And you too ma’am. Please excuse me.”

Arjun smiled at her and then the girl left. Arjun then looked down at Radhika. She was confused. But, her expression had changed a bit. She now knew that it was a surprise. And couldn’t wait to see what it was. Arjun blindfolded Radhika and then took out a key and opened the door.

They entered the room, a big room. It was a beautiful romantic dinner setup. Ok, a candlelight one. The room was dark with dark wooden walls and very light lighting. There were long white sashes hanging from the walls, which added extra elegance to the setting. Every corner of the room had a vase of red roses. Room had aromatherapy candles and in the center, there was a table for two. The table, a round one had a white satin lining and a dash of red ribbon in the side. It had all the delicacies spread on the table and a small flower vase and a candlestick which stood in the middle of the table. There was romantic music being played. There was a small fountain at one of the corners, which gave a peaceful gushing sound and it was a bit cool.

(Ok… I just donno how I put this… Please do imagine and let me know about it in the comments section… ??)

Arjun felt Radhika going restless. She felt as if Arjun had bought her to a concert, due to the music. He then opened the blindfold and moved a few steps back. Radhika opened her eyes and saw the room. She kept staring at the place. She kept looking around in disbelief. She was smiling. Arjun was happy to see her smile. She turned around and saw him on his knees. She wondered why.

Arjun said “Radhika my princess, I know I’ve hurt you a lot in the past. I won’t you to put that all behind and start a new life with me.”

She kept staring at him. She was so happy that she was laughing as well as crying at the same time. Arjun spoke again.

He asked “will you marry me again?!”

She said “I already married you once, and now again. I’m stuck with you for seven births, if I marry you again it’ll be 14. I’ll get bored Arjun” and made a pout face looking up at the ceiling nodding her head.

Arjun who was still on his knees asked again “Mrs. Arjun Mehra, will you marry me again and be mine forever?!”

Radhika ran to him and sat on his knee. She hugged him tight. Arjun too hugged her and kissed her head.

She said “yes. I love you.”

He said “love you too. Now please get up.”

She looked at him and said “sorry sorry” and got off his lap.

She was about to walk away, but he caught hold of her waist and pulled her back to him. Her back was plastered to his front and his hold on her was gentle. Both of their hands were entwined in each other’s. He planted a warm kiss on her neck and buried his face in her hair. Arjun kept swaying Radhika to the music being played behind. They were lost in each other. Radhika turned around and hugged him. Arjun too hugged her back, still swaying to the music. Then, both of them had a romantic dance. Both of them just couldn’t take their eyes off each other. They then sat down to have dinner.

As they were eating, Radhika asked “so, all of this was preplanned huh?”

He said “yes. I wanted to surprise you. Thank God you didn’t prepare dinner.”

She laughed a little and nodded in agreement. Arjun smiled.

He asked “did you like it?”

She exclaimed “like?! I love it Arjun!! I love it!! Thank you so much!! Love you.”

He smiled and said “love you too.”

She asked “why suddenly?”

He said “I wanted to propose you for our remarriage. I found this to be the best opportunity.”

She said “awww. You be the best husband. Love you the most. Please stay with me forever.”

He said “and you be the best wife. Same goes to you. Now stop talking. Eat.”

They finished dinner. Radhika went and sat the edge of the fountain and played in the water. Arjun stood from behind and watched her play. Suddenly Radhika splashed water on him,breaking his thoughts. Arjun gave a mischievous smile and sat down. After a few seconds, he too splashed water on her.

Radhika said “enough. What will people think if they see us like this?”

He said “I don’t care. And yes, I don’t like getting wet. Let’s go. It’s already late.”

Radhika nodded in agreement and got up. They drove back home and went to sleep. Radhika as usual, got up and prepared breakfast. Arjun came down and joined her. He helped her cooking. Radhika kept smiling all the while. Radhika smiled even more when Arjun unknowingly smeared atta on his face while kneading the dough.

He asked “why are you smiling so much?! I don’t look like a cartoon character.”

She smiled at him and took out her phone and turned on the front camera so that he could see himself. His hair was a mess, his left cheek smeared with atta. On the whole, he was a mess.

(I wonder how she didn’t laugh… I would have ended up lmaoing ??…Kk I was just joking)

Radhika said pointing out at him “that.”

He smiled naughtily and started to walk towards Radhika. Radhika put her phone down and tried to run. But, no use. He caught her and pulled her close to him.

He said rubbing his left cheek to her right one “not so fast wifey.”

Radhika turned around and put her hand on her right cheek. She rubbed it and saw the atta on her palm. She looked at Arjun with an annoyed face and Arjun kept smiling.

She said “zero romance in the kitchen.”

He asked “who told you that there can be no romance in the kitchen? Which book of yours says that?”

She said “none. But now, I’m saying it.”

She turned to cook. She heard Arjun laughing his lungs out. She turned around to see, she too smiled. He went to the hall still laughing. Radhika finished preparing and placed them on the dining table. They had breakfast together.

After they finished eating, Arjun said “we’re going back to Mumbai next week. I’ve booked the tickets.”

She asked “does di know?”

Arjun nodded in positive.

She then said “don’t tell their business class ones.”

He again nodded in positive with a smile. Radhika pouted her face at that.

She asked “why?”

He said “my money, my wish.”

She said “you’ll never change. It’s useless.”

Radhika asked Arjun to go to office though he had no work. She wanted him to spend more time with Nitin. He was more than a brother to him. Radhika too enjoyed his company. Nandini dropped in like almost everyday. Karthik made sure everything was going fine. He always kept an eye in Radhika.

Radhika and Reena became good friends. Radhika visited Arjun often at office. She bought him lunch every day and bought for Nitin and his dad.

Nishanth(Nitin’s dad) said “god bless you child. You’re the ideal daughter and daughter in law. I always wanted a daughter, but…”

Radhika placed her hand on his shoulder. He looked at her. She opened her arms out wide for him. Nishanth uncle smiled and gave her a fatherly hug.

She said “now you do uncle.”

He smiled patting her head and said “I’ll miss you and your food. God bless you.”

She said laughing “I’ll cook for you and Nitin when you both come to India.”

He said smiling “I’ll surely come. I need to meet Piyali and Samrat. It’s been long. And yes, how can I forget my dear little Sam and Manya. What is Manya doing?”

She said “Manya’s gone back to Australia to complete her studies. Sam is in Mumbai. Working with Piyali aunty.”

He asked “and Neil?”

She said “Neil too works in Bird Song. And is married to Sam.”

He said “wow. That’s good news. Now I really need to come to India.”

She smiled at him. Nishanth noticed that and smiled at her.

He said “but no one can be like you Radhika. So selfless, kind, full of life.”

Radhika didn’t say anything. She just kept smiling. It was the first time he was talking so calm. Whenever she came, she saw him lifeless and getting angry over petty issues. He wouldn’t go calm even when Arjun tried to calm him. It was only him who could do it as Nitin would fail miserably. She always wondered what made him be like this and hiw nitin handled him. He never spoke about his wife to anyone. It was a mystery. And she didn’t ask. She feared if she did. Even Nitin never spoke about his mom. Arjun would always brush it off and handle the situation when it came to the topic. But, now he was smiling and talking. So, she let him continue.

He said “I’ll miss you dear.”

She said “uncle there’s still three days.”

He said “but still.”

They gave each other another hug. Arjun and Nitin saw this from outside and smiled. Nitin had tears. After so long his dad was smiling. And now, he had a sister. Which made him even more happy. Arjun was happy that she spread her charm everywhere. He was proud of her. Arjun placed his hand on Nitin’s shoulder and they broke into a hug.

He said “thank you so much for coming back. It’s all because of you and Radhika I’m able to see dad smile. After so long. And I have a sister too.”

He said “the credit goes to my princess. My Radhika.”

The two of them came in and all of them had lunch together. Radhika went shopping with Reena and Nandini on the remaining days spent a lot of with each other. Nandini too liked Reena’s company. She seemed to forget everything. Her past, her dreadful deeds and come back to normal. Arjun was happy to see her like that. He got his Nandu back at last.

The day before leaving, Arjun, Radhika, Nitin and Reena went to a coffee shop. Nandini left as she had to finish packing. The girls sat and boys sat in separate tables. They had a lot to talk. They didn’t mind. As they kept talking, Nitin turned and saw Reena. He was lost in her. He smiled and never payed heed to what Arjun was talking. Arjun saw this and smiled. He saw Radhika and Reena laughing at their gossip. Nitin kept smiling.

Nitin came back to sense when Arjun shook his shoulder.

He asked “huh Arjun? What happened?”

Arjun smiled and asked “you like her don’t you?”

Nitin asked “what are you talking about?”

Arjun said “that’s not the answer to my question.”

Nitin was speechless. He was searching for words, but stopped when Arjun pointed out towards Reena.

Nitin let out a sigh and said “it won’t work Arjun. She doesn’t like me.”

Arjun said “I asked if you like her. Not she.”

Nitin banged his fists on the table and said “its love Arjun. Love. Not like.”

The coffee on the table rippled at the effect and gave a loud noise. Even Radhika and Reena heard it. They turned to see, but saw them slapping each other a high five. Reena saw Nitin and smiled. She kept looking at him for a long time. Radhika saw this and smiled.

She touched her shoulder lightly and said “why don’t you tell him?”

Reena let out a sigh and said “it won’t work Radhika.”

Radhika asked “why?”

She said “cause we have only a boss and employee relationship. Nothing else.”

Radhika exclaimed “what?!”

She said “Nitin sir hates women. But, he respects them.”

Radhika asked “why?”

She said “Nitin sir’s mom left him and Nishanth sir for another rich man. From since then, he hates women. Nishanth sir tried a lot to move on and put things behind. But no. He’s still stuck there.”

Radhika’s eyes went wide. They almost popped out. Now she understood it. Why Nishanth uncle never spoke of his wife not did Arjun. Even Nitin. She now understood why he was dull, though he managed to put up a smile. She looked at him and had tears in her eyes.

Radhika turned to Reena and asked “how do you know?”

Reena said “he was drunk one night after the office party. I was shocked as he never drinks. Wait, I’ll tell you clearly.”

……. FB starts…….

It was a night two years back. The company celebrated it’s success for crushing it’s rival. They had bagged the highest budget project of the whole town. Reena entered the party and saw Nitin at the bar counter.

She went up to him and asked “sir?! You here?!”

He bit out “yes me. Here. Now get out.”

She said “sir you’re drunk. I think it’s enough” trying to stop him from drinking the next glass of scotch.

He bit out again, banging the empty glass on the counter “you’re not my wife. You’re just a blo*dy employee. So, stay in your limits.”

Reena cried and left from the place. No one had insulted her like that. She felt like ripping him into pieces.

She then went and started talking to the other employees. After a while, she saw him going outside and followed him. He was sitting on the stone bench and looking up at the dark sky. She stood near him and saw that he was the most handsome person she’d ever met. The moonlight gave elegance to his features. She felt her heart beat fast.

She said to herself “why are you here? He insulted you. And now you’re falling for this man?! No way!!”

She let out a deep sigh and sat next to him. She placed her hand on his shoulder. He suddenly hugged her and cried like a kid. This shocked Reena. We tried to pull away, but he held her tight.

She said “sir. Please let go.”

He said “no. Please don’t go. Stay with me. My mom left me. I can’t afford to lose you.”

She was shocked even more. She asked “what sir?! Me?! And what happened to your mom?”

He bit out, still hugging her “she’s not my mom. I hate her.”

She said “sir, don’t insult your mom. Mom-child relation is the best.”

He screamed “no.”

She asked “what happened?”

He said breaking the hug “promise me that you’ll stay with me. And won’t tell anyone about this.”

She said “I promise.”

He said “my mom left me and dad for this man, just because he was rich and owned a vineyard. Had a helipad. Owned a lot of estates. She didn’t even think about us. Not even once. I was a seven year old kid. Dad was shattered. He took everything on himself. Bore a lot of insult. Brought me up as a single parent. He tried a lot to move on, but no. He couldn’t. He even started to drink. But still she wouldn’t let go of him. She had control over his mind and soul. He’s still stuck right there. He still remembers that blo*dy woman and cries for her. He still loves her. But, I’m not like that. I hate her. I hate her!! Hate her. Hater her. Hate her!!”

She said “sir everything that happens has a meaning. You’ll get something better in life. I’m not saying your hatred for her is wrong, but that doesn’t mean that you can judge other women the same way.”

He then let go of her and walked away. Reena sat there and watched him walk away. She had tears. She now knew that she had fallen for him. She was in love with him.

She then said to herself “I’ll always stay by your side. I’ll never break my promise.”

Radhika had tears. She was happy to know that Reena loved Nitin.

She looked up at Reena and said “you’ll make a great life partner Reena. Just put everything aside and tell him.”

She said “no Radhika I can’t. What will he think? I smiled at him after that day, but he just looked away. I then realized that what he said was all in a drunken state. I’m there in his company just because I promised him. I don’t care if he doesn’t love me, but I will always. Forever.”

Radhika smiled at this. She didn’t know what you to say.

She said “everything will be alright. Wait and watch.”

Arjun asked “why not tell her? If you live her so much.”

He said “it won’t work Arjun. What’ll she think of me?”

Arjun said “it’s love Nitin. Love. Don’t let the opportunity slip out. I know of your past. Put it behind and start a fresh with her.”

He said “I’ll try.”

Just then Arjun heard Radhika calling out. The four of them then left to their respective homes after bidding good night.

The next afternoon, Radhika, Arjun and Nandini got ready. Karthik came by to drop them. Nitin, Reena and Nishanth uncle too came.

Karthik said “I’ll miss you Radhu.”

She hugged him and said “I’ll miss you too bhai. Come soon.”

He said “I’ll miss you too di. And Arjun, I can’t forget you.”

Arjun said “sorry for everything.”

He said “it’s k” and hugged him.

Nandini said “I’ll miss you too. Take care.”

Karthik said “I will.”

They took Nishanth’s blessings and hugged Reena and Nitin.

Arjun said “don’t forget Nitin.”

Radhika said “you too Reena.”

Both Reena and Nitin in unison “I’ll try.”

The three of them bid goodbye and went inside. They got into the plane. The same Emirates. Connecting flight at Dubai and then to Mumbai. They hadn’t informed anyone of their return. They hired a taxi and went home.

Nandini was so hayto be home. She looked around and found that nothing had been changed.

Arjun placed his hand on Nandini’s shoulder and said “nothing has changed Nandu.”

Nandini said “I’m so sorry Arjun. To you too Radhika.”

Radhika said “its k di.”

Arjun said “now go sleep. It’s gonna be a new beginning. We need to go to Bird Song.”

They all went to their respective rooms and slept off.
