Chapter 13: Mystery Never Ends
Journalism. It was a passion for radhika. From teen years she was fascinated by it. To fight back in small ways against crime. To bring out truth in the light. She was an excellent writer. She knew to create magic with words. When those words were boldly announced in her angelic yet strong and sure voice, everyone listened. So journalism was her carrier choice. She worked for it. Without rest. And finally her hardwork paid as she was accepted into one of the most prestigious universities for journalism course. Within short time she became popular among the students and teachers. And then her destiny threw her into a nystery. A cat and mouse game. At the end of the mystery a horrifying truth awaited her and an animal awaited her arrival with the traps set.
Radhika now remembered. Everything. That one night that changed her life. She sat up on the bed. Her dream still fresh in her mind. And with it, it brought out all the hidden truths. Memories rushed in. Like the flood gates have been opened suddenly.
The incident happened some days before the accident. All the students in her class were given projects. They were in liberty to choose the subject. They were to do it individually and Radhika wanted it to be something extraordinary. She wanted it to reflect all the reasons behind her passion for journalism. They were to make a documentary and many of her friends were doing prety basic, cliche themes like global warming or globalisation. She was radhika mishra and radhika mishra never settled with just ordinary. So that’s where suraj came in.
Suraj, her awesome outgoing twin, did some research for her. He digged deep and got a wind of some illegal activities taking place at a closed godown. With suraj’s friend’s help they got to know that it was some drug dealings. After radhika knew this she wanted to make that her project but suraj was not willing to let her go alone. They knew telling neil was out of question as he will flat out deny them. They thought they will just get some video footages.
But what they got instead was just unbelievable. The drug deal was a cover developed by the mastermind to keep the real crime under covers. Human trafficking. And all of them girls under mid twenties by the look of it. She remembered going into that room and being shocked seeing the bodies. Then she also saw the man behind all this. It was a well known face. Paul Gilberts. A well known public figure. He was a social worker and recently had been getting into politics. Well a wolf disguised as a sheep. She was happy that she got the evidence to accuse him guilty. But soon she was exposed but suraj and radhika managed to escape from there.
On reaching home they both knew they were not safe so they decided to go straight to one of suraj’s friend’s home as his dad was a police officer. They thought to hand over the tape. But when they reached there they overheard a phone call that clearly revealed that the local police was in gilbert’s pocket. They left from there and found out that sharat and anjali were going to their house on the countryside for some private family time and they thought it was the best plan to keep out of this place for sometime. Radhika and suraj went with them but never informed their parents of what happened.
After reaching the house radhika along with suraj explained everything to their parents. They all decided to return and inform neil and higher police officials who were sharat’s friends of these things. But on the way, the accident or rather, the murders happened and radhika slipped into a coma. When she woke up she had no memories of her life so all these stayed buried in her mind.
Radhika came out of her thoughts and decided to inform all others of these new discoveries. Now when the mystery seemed to be over, plot twisted and tightened again. But atleast now she could see some light seeping in at the end of the dark maze of this mystery.
