Mayuri Deshmukh who is known for essaying the role of Malini in Imlie will be bidding farewell to the show post the leap. Imlie is all set to witness a major leap and the actress has quit the show because she does not want to play mother to grown-up kids in the show.
Mayuri talked about it during a recent interview with BT and shared, “My journey as Malini was interesting and filled with many shades. Now the show is taking a leap and I was always clear f that I would not want to play mom to adults or even teenagers. So, I have quit the show.”
Talking about her role breaking bad in the show, the actress said, “I agree it was a drastic shift. TV is a TRP-driven industry and the script changes accordingly, so after almost a year of playing a positive Malini, who would sacrifice for her step-sister, when the makers told me that my character was going to turn negative, it did come as a jerk. I was not convinced initially, but then I felt it will be a bigger challenge to make people hate my character. And I worked hard on it. Had the audience been indifferent to my turning negative, I would have felt bad but a section of the audience did start hating me and I felt that my character had achieved its target. However, Malini loyalists did feel that my turning negative was not convincing enough for them. I have never played such a villainous character before, but now people know that I can do it.”
When asked about her future plans, Mayuri replied, “TV is a great medium to work for because it gives you fame like no other. I have been doing a lot of work but the kind of fame Imlie gave, is something else. TV does get predictable sometimes because of the rating game, but it also gives you good work and money at the end of the day. At the same time, I am open to Marathi web, TV shows, films, or any other medium. I want to explore more as an actor.”

all the best mayuri mam….. I have not seen this show from beginning……….But You were such a calm and innocent faced villain………yes I dislike the character of Mailini………….Not fully…..But I loved your performance………….
Good decision! No matter what Malini is still loved by many people for her old innocence avatar which was killed by makers (as well as imlie & aditya). Malini was realistic while Imlie was supernatural. Imlie is also a negative character. Just for being lead people became blind toward her bad intention and work.
I dun see Imlie having bad intention??? Whereabout she has bad intentions??? I wonder are you watching the same serial or you blindly choose to see Imlie having bad intention coz of Malini??? 🙄🙄🙄
On point
Well said Imlie when sacrificed her husband took a 360 turn when got Aditya attention. Even Aditya said himself she made him realise his love. She does sacrifice at her own convenience and when saw opportunity came between Aditya and Malini. By these kind of serial affirms that never think poor girl needs help. She will snatch your everything on the name of so called love after didi didi game. Imlie never gave up Aditya n forceful marriage destroyed Malini life rest Malini did herself by not sending Imlie Aditya to jail for cheating and trapping her in second marriage togather. This serial aimed only to glorify supernatural Imlie whatever she did is acceptable as she is dusky talks in local language and so bechari so people can relate to her. As far as I can see this serial turns Malini negative without it Imlie looks like home wrecker. So easy for writers to show all educated from well off upbring in good family are negative women. They have not shown a single educated women empowered to glorify Imlie the village girl. This affirms more village girls are highly cunning and thinks city girls can find a second good match but they can’t. Only Sita Maiya is there sole property. one of the pathetic serial i ever seen. Imlie cunning and home breaker Malini idiot mad padhi likhi gawar anu narcissistic Aditya god syndrome asr patient of Imlie 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Thank God Mayuri you are leaving the show. You can be main lead please never in future do idiotic roles. All the best
