Today episode 1st scene was quite unexpected
I thought , may i missed some part or watching wrong episodes
By the way, raghav broke his fast with daru/alchol last nightπππ
Keep it up makers
Same here, the starting scene made me think I missed something in between, but so was not the case ππ
Exactly, Raghav had already broken his fast with drinks the previous so technically he wasn’t in a fast last night. π
The BTS rehearsal pics of the first scene were out and even wondered what they were doing at the time π€£π€£
Technically he was following aayi’s message and broke his fast with his fav thing π₯
The ending was again something. In all the other serials, it is the FLs who hide the truth and become mahaan.
Here, in this serial for a change it is the ML Raghav who is constantly doing it. Again for a change, the ML doesn’t becomes a mahaan like the FLs of the other serials but makes an ass of himself and helps making the FL, Pallavi a mahaan.π€¦ββοΈ
Seriously, from the beginning, Raghav is constantly hides all kinds of truth every now and then to destroy his own character and show himself to be the wrong one.
To make matters worse, Raghav’s earlier dumbness brought so many MU tracks of Raghvi.
Even now Raghav is doing the same thing, staying dumb and which might eventually bring one of those mu tracks of Raghvi. Not sure but I can feel it happening
It seems like Pallavi started falling in love with Raghavππand Raghav also loves Pallaviβ€β€
Not started falling, I think Pallavi is in love with Raghav. The scene after that first scene where Pallavi goes to bathroom an blushes reminiscing that moment with Raghav kinda shows that.
Who is this mystery woman ???!!! Any guesses ??
Mandaar’s gf
Mandaar’s wife π₯°
Mandaar’s nurse
Mandaar’s doctor ????!!!!
I really hope it’s his wife π€π€π€ I hope he was well settled π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦ but forced by sanki to marry Pallu and was running away on the night of their marriage. That will be a good twist …sanki being responsible for everything π
I don’t think his wife
May be nurse/doctor
They mute raghav conversation in precap and also in today episode
May be mandar is under raghav supervision /may be in coma/memory loss
I don’t think his gf/wife as indian tv is still under control of love triangle
Every top shows have a love triangle
So there may be a pallavi dilema track over mandar/raghav
I was really hoping it’s Mandaar’s wife π. Let’s see π€π€π€π€
Hope for the best
I think that recorded voice mail will be used by makers to clear pallavi’s misunderstanding.
Pallavi will be known the incomplete truth from other source , may be when lion -raghav fights
Or to create misunderstandings π€¦ . Let’s see, I am already happy with the thought that Mandaar could have been married
Did you guys notice Pallavi has removed the north indian mangalsutra and has started wearing a talli (I think that is how they call mangalsutra in south….)
Like many here said even I had not liked Raghvi’s wedding which was not that greatly shot.
Even the grahpravesh wala ceremony shot 2 episodes back was something weird, because I don’t think the telugus do grahpravesh of their bahus with kicking of rice pot and all…
Still, I admire the change of mangalsutra because we get to some exploration of diff culture
Again I have doubt? If there is someone telugu here just clear it?
I thought the typical telugu mangalsutra consists of two rounds similar to that of the marati mangalsutra, the difference between telugu and maharastrian mangalsutra is that telugu mangalsutra is not made of black beads, but with some kind of yellow thread…The one which Pallavi is wearing is actually the tamil mangalsutra….I have seen some telugu women too wearing this tamil mangalsutra but those were mostly women who had settled in tamilnadu or having some tamil background…does Raghav’s family also have something like that?
I noticed the thali π and was happy as well . Wish they go a step further and get rid of the sindoor and have the kumkum on forehead . Another thing I noticed was widow being in a white sari . South India is very diverse and I canβt speak for the entire region but I am yet to see a South Indian widow in white. Infact some castes of South Indian state get married in white ππ
Most custom and traditions also differ based on the region, caste and class so it is difficult to generalise the same for an entire state although there are similarities. From my experience in most South Indian weddings the turmeric thread is used for the marriage rituals which is later replaced by something more durable. Black beads are essential but people donβt prefer them which is more of a fashion/personal choice .
Thank you so much Pooja for responding. I guess the thali which Pallavi is a tamil mangalsutra and isn’t Kumkum/Sindoor the same thing and I thought the south indians also used the same stuff.
Same like you I was also thinking about the same thing when Krishna’s mother forces Pallavi to wear white sari in the 1st episode because like north indians not all the south indians have the custom that widows should wear only white saris. Like you said, it is certain telugu people who use white sari for their wedding. Yes, the sari will not completely white but I have seen telugu women wearing pale white colored borders saris for their weddings.
But for the keralites i.e. people from Kerala, the hindu kerala widows wear white saris like us north indians. In the same region, even the christians wear white sarees which can completely white for their weddings.
The south indian culture is like an ocean, the makers should be very careful before introducing something.
@Anonymous
I had to google for Tamil mangalsutra but images do resemble what pallavi is wearing , it really depends on caste/subcaste/region/class. You are right about Kumkum and sindoor being the same. The difference is that south Indians use it on their forehead and not on the maang.
Certain section of ppl in Karnataka also wear white saris on their wedding (white silk saris with gold borders ) . But most of these traditions and customs are dying in the cities and people dress according to their tastes and comfort .
I wasn’t familiar with women in Kerala wearing white after they lose their husbands . India is so diverse I guess you can stay in a region and still not know everything about it .
@Anonymous
As a Keralite, I can definitely assure you that atleast 90% widows do not choose to wear white in here. I very rarely see widows wearing white, especially in today’s world. Widows however, choose to wear and dress up something simple and humble, but its not necessarily white saris. Some widows wear simple clothes, while the rest simply don’t care about their dressing and move on in life. Moreover such a custom of wearing white clothes for widows doesn’t exist these days, people have become more progressive, many widows choose to remarry or stay as they are, but wearing white clothes isn’t necessary.
And the traditional dress of Kerala includes Mundum Neriyathum, a saree like garment for women which is white in colour with gold colour border. Malayali Hindu brides often wear Kasavu sarees which are also white coloured with gold borders and Christian brides too wear white sarees. Many elderly women choose to wear white cotton coloured sarees not because they’re widows, but to adjust with the climate especially summers, as white sarees make them feel relaxed.
White sarees are pretty much common in Kerala, but not with the context of the customs widows have to follow.
@Pooja
What does maang actually mean? Is it the part of the head where Pallavi wears her sindoor?
I thought that the way Pallavi wears her sindoor is generally how South Indian brides would wear sindoor as well..
Pooja, no no yaar, the south indian women also wear sindoor on their maangs. Yes, there are people who make small dashes of sindoor on their foreheads but that is mostly men. But, the married hindu south women also wear sindoor in their maangs like us north indians.
Yes Nila, I know majority of the modern women who are widows in Kerala do not choose to wear white sari in kerala. It is the same in North India too because even in north india especially the widows in cities I donβt really think they will choose to wear white sari like Pallavi. There are certain villages where these rules are strictly followed in north india but not in cities.
I was talking about the custom of widows wearing white after their husbandβs death, where I have read that even the hindu keralite women too like the north indian women wear white saris when their husbands die. But as you said it must have been in the olden days. People and customs change with time.
Ik the white dhoti is called mundu in your place, right? And something like veshti in Tamilnadu? I donβt understand why most of the makers give this wrong vocabulary of calling it the lungi? Isnβt lungi more of an informal/domestic costume of the south Indians?
True that Pooja, India is so diverse that we may not know everything about our own regional culture.
I have not seen Pallavi wearing bicchiya. But what is called mostly bicchiya all over north is called mettelu in andhra, metti in tamilnadu and minji in kerala which itself shows the diverse south indian culture.
@Nila ,
Maang should be the hair partition . Usually North Indians wear sindoor between the partition . Down south kumkum/kumkuma is worn on the forehead
@ Anonymous
There may be parts of South which wear it in that fashion and I am unaware of it. Having lived in a South Indian household all my life I have not seen any generation of women do that . It’s always been kumkuma on the forehead .
Had to google the next half to understand you were referring to toe ring . I haven’t observed pallavi’s feet and wasn’t even aware it was a thing in the north .
I wish ITV also had a modern day FL representation who won’t wear any of this and wont fast for her husband but doesn’t play a negative role . I think I am asking for too much π
Are you staying in Banglore Pooja? But majority of south indian women do fill their maangs with sindoor like Pallavi in this serial. I think you have not seen….
Moreover sindoor, sari and jewellery are a woman’s personal choice so here Pallavi too can wear it that way because after all Pallavi’s character is a maharastian. I was shocked to see Pallavi dress in those heavy silk saris later in the serial because I never though she would do that all because she is married to a telugu when she is basically a maharastrian.
The problem arises with mangalsutra, engagement ring and toe ring because these are things given from groom’s side so usually it will be based on the culture of groom’s side.
Which is why I was happy that finally the makers decided to make Pallavi wear telugu/tamil mangalsutra, it was quite logical too.
The makers also made a mistake in Mansi-Rahul’s wedding earlier where Rahul is a telugu man and the families decided for a telugu wedding but then all rituals sangeet, mehendi etc were actually north indian wedding rituals.
@Anonymous
I totally agree with the lungi vs Mundu/veshti vocabulary. Mundu is actually the formal garment which is white in colour while lungi is the colourful one with designs etc, often used informally. And I totally hate it when they call Mundu as lungi when both are entirely different π
And regarding Mansi Rahul’s wedding, I don’t know about Telugu wedding rituals, but these days many South Indian weddings do include sangeet, mehendi, haldi etc. Even in Kerala weddings, many families nowadays have started including such rituals even though it not being a part of the customs. So maybe the makers must have decided to try out a trendy wedding. But the makers are unsure of what to include and what not, RaghVi’s wedding was totally confusing as it was neither a Telugu nor a Maharashtrian wedding π
@Pooja
Thanks for the clarification. But I think many married South Indian women do fill their maang with kumkum, married women in my family including my mom do fill their maang with kumkum. As South Indian culture is really vast and diverse, there might be different traditions and customs among different people…
@ Anonymous,
Not a bad guess . I was born and raised in Bangalore and have pretty much lived in Blore for most part of my life. Blore is home β€οΈπ‘ but I don’t live there .
@nila and anonymous ,
I am yet to see a south Indian with maang mein sindoor . I can obviously be wrong as I am only speaking from my experience .
It is also true that south Indian weddings include all sorts of things ranging from cocktail parties to sangeet which have historically not been associated with South Indian weddings or even Indian weddings to be precise .
In telugu also there will be griha pravesh of new bride with finger prints on the wall with kumkum water,ricepot kicking too.coming ro mangalsutra a new bride will wear that one with two sutra on white thread mixed with turmeric later after 16 days or so (i am not clear)after seeing a good day they add black,red beads to it for the strength of marital life,preventing evil eye some will wear with same thread some will use golden chain instead but in tamilnadu I don’t know this beads culture is there or not
Makers should work on script and direction…Silly mistakes in episodes will ruin the charisma of characters..
It’s just a love for Raghav and pallavi that all mistakes are ignored by audience. I think scriptwriter also drink with raghav aur fir nashe me dono ko yaad nahi rahta kya kiyaπ€£
I noticed the thali π and was happy as well . Wish they go a step further and get rid of the sindoor and have the kumkum on forehead . Another thing I noticed was widow being in a white sari . Raghav thought to never reveal the truth to pallavi. I think this will make things worse. We have seen lot of times that if the 1st person makes mistakes and won’t reveal it to 2nd person, they will get to know it from 3rd person and misunderstanding gets deep. I don’t know what happened but no matter what, raghav should come clean to pallavi. She promised to understand and trust him always. That might work. Who knows what will happen when she get her hands on the truth of 1st Dec 18 night π€
Raghavs expressions ,dressing ,hair, eyes etc all already implies that he is in great tension…..and what is he going through ,even we can feel his state…….so good….such a talent actors,writers and directors….
That first scene…uffff….unexpected and such a romantic hug….
About vrath, may be they can drink, only eating will be restricted till next day….πππ
Yes guys that is a Thali worn by us Tamil speaking women.. There r sooo many beautiful variations depending on the class..region n caste..Traditionaly the gold ornaments are attached by a yellow string but in today’s modern world the yellow string is replaced by a gold chain..us Tamil women wear wear the red dot or potu n a Tamil married woman like Hindi speaking women r incomplete without the sindoor.. Its just lovely to see these tiny bits of our South Indian culture in a Hindi based show.. Adds more to our beautiful diverse culture.. Be it Tamil.. Telugu or Hindi..
Does any one have any guesses on the eye lens pallavi is wearing? It seems like grey or brown ..not sure though!
