Sai walks to a man Raghunath and seeing him crying asks reason. Raghunath says he is jobless since 5 months; when he asked his owner to increase his salary, his owner kicked him out of job; he somehow managed to feed his family till now with his savings, but today he has only a fistful of rice and dal, so he doesn’t know how to feed his family. Sai asks him to come to Dwarkamayi with his family, he can get at least one time food. Raghunath says he cannot take anyone’s favor and if Sai really wants to help him, he should help him get a job. Sai asks him to bring a fistful of rice and dal to Dwarkamayi with his family. Raghunath agrees.
Sai returns to Dwarkamayi and sets up big utensil for cooking. Raghunath walks in with his wife and 4 children. Sai takes fistful of rice and dal from him and puts it in bing utensil to prepare khichdi, asks Raghunath if he didn’t try to find a job in 5 months. Raghunath says he tried and got 1 rs per day labor job in Appa’s field and 1 rs is not enough for his family. Sai asks what about 2 rs offer by Satheji to construct his house. Raghunath thinks Sai knows everything and says it was temporary job, he needs permanent one and if a permanent offers come in between, he couldn’t accept it; he is thinking to mortgage his house and will run his house for some time and then he will go to city to earn money.
Sai asks Govinda and Bhima to have khichdi and go. Raghunath says a fistful rice and dal khichdi will not be sufficient for his family, why is he inviting others. Sai suggests that with trust even a fistful rice is sufficient to feed 100s and without trust even 100 kg rice is not enough to feed a few. He puts his bare hand in boiling khichdi to stir it. Sulakshana gets worried Prahlad and his friends smell khichdi from Dwarkamayi and walk towards it. They see Sai stirring boiling khichdi with his bare hand and get worried. Sai suggests to have patience and trust. Tatya and Shyama smell Khichdi and walk towards Dwarkamayi. Baizamaa, Mhalsapati, Megha, and all other disciples also smell khichdi and walk towards Dwarka. Raghunath complains Sai again that he called so many people. They all suggest him to have patience and trust on Sai. Sai asks everyone to sit and fills khichdi in a bowl from his bare hands. Bhima serves khichdi to everyone. Raghunath is amazed to see whole big utensil full of khichdi and asks how did this happen. Mhalsapati says its Sai’s magic and everyone here believe Sai. All disciples sing Raham nazar sail..song.. and praise Sai. Sai also joins them and sings.
Sai then feeds khichdi to Raghunath hoping his self-respect is not hurt. Raghunath apologizes Sai for misunderstanding him. Sai says just like rice is boiled to make khichdi, one has to go through rigorous tests in life; he should have left his wife work and even he should have accepted 1 rs job to run his family, instead he became lazy and gave excuses of losing job, he should understand that just like a cart, life also needs both husband and wife to run it; he should accept either one job and let his wife accept a job. Raghunath and his wife seek Sai’s blessings. Sai blesses them.
