Monika Bhadoriya, known for her role as Bawri in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, made headlines when she left the sitcom in 2019. While she did not reveal the exact reasons back then, she has now opened up about her differences with producer Asit Modi and his team, following Jennifer Bansiwal Mistry’s accusations of misbehavior against the production house. Moreover, Monika hinted that Disha Vakani, who portrays Dayaben, may have also left the show due to similar reasons.
During an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Monika shared her thoughts, suggesting that something must have hurt Disha or she may not have been adequately compensated, leading to her decision of not returning to the show. Monika stated, “I don’t want to comment on her. Maybe. There must have been something that hurt her. When someone is paying you well and still calling you repeatedly, and you don’t want to come, these might be the reasons, what else could it be?”
In an exclusive interview with ETimes TV, Monika revealed that she faced similar payment issues that prompted several other artists to leave the show recently. She explained, “I had to fight for my hard-earned money for one year, but they were unwilling to release the payment. When I informed them that I would file a complaint with CINTAA, they panicked and released my payment. Throughout my six-year journey with Taarak, I never received the payment that was initially agreed upon. He would backtrack on his words, claiming he didn’t remember what was decided.”
Monika further added that others, including Shailesh Ji, Gurucharan Singh, Raj Anadkat, Jennifer, and Neha Mehta, also faced payment issues. She fought for a year, even going to the producer’s office, but received no assistance. It was only after sending them a legal notice that her payment was finally cleared.
