Monika Singh on how certain actors are preferred over others in the television industry; says, “There’s no point focussing on it”
Actress Monika Singh, who was last seen in Bahut Pyaar Karte Hain is also known for her role in shows like Kulfi Kumar Bajewala and Guddan Tumse Na Ho Payega among others. During a recent interview, the actress talked about favoritism in the industry and how unhealthy competition has been a part and parcel of the TV industry for a long time.
She said, “Favouritism exists in every field. Working in this industry for the last few years, I’ve seen how certain people are preferred over others. There are pros and cons to every situation. Also, competition and favoritism are things which are beyond our control and so I have realized that there is no point focusing on it much.”
Monika also shared why she has kept away from taking up any new projects. “I got a few offers but didn’t settle for them because I didn’t find a solid or challenging role. Around the same time, I was offered the Marathi series titled Tu Chal Pudhe, which was a challenge for me as it was a Marathi show. I believe in focusing more on quality rather than quantity. I also enjoy working at my own pace rather than working under pressure. So, it is better to accept roles, which will connect with audiences,” she said.
