Actor Lokesh Batta, who rose to fame with his role as Jass in the popular television show Udaariyaan feels that the show was a turning point in his life.
The actor talked about it in a recent interview and shared, “I’m blessed that Udaariyaan happened to me. I got the opportunity to play a villain in the show and entertain the audience. It helped me to earn recognition. While I was part of the show my makers appreciated my work. I remember my director Uttam Ahlawat was so impressed with my acting that he would take all the shots in one go. In fact, after my role ended in the show. I was offered many roles on TV and I feel that the show was a turning point for my career as an actor.”
Talking about his journey of becoming an actor, Lokesh added, “I’m originally from Punjab and later on shifted to Delhi. I completed my higher studies and did theatre in the capital itself. I was a learned actor before shifting to Mumbai. I never thought Punjab would call me back to give me the biggest break as an actor. I was shooting in Punjab for my show Udaariyaan. Being a Punjabi I wanted to work in Pollywood. As today Punjabi entertainment is quite popular around the world. But unfortunately, PBI industry is all about Popstars. Here singers turn out to be the hero in movies and the male actor don’t receive any opportunities. Here only female actors get huge opportunities.”
