Naezy, the rapper famously known as Naved Shaikh, is making waves as a contestant on Bigg Boss OTT 3. In a recent episode, he revealed startling details about his past while conversing with Ranvir Shorey. Naezy disclosed that he spent nearly a year in jail during the filming of Zoya Akhtar’s acclaimed movie, Gully Boy, which significantly affected his personal life.

During the conversation, Naezy explained how this incident derailed his career, preventing him from reaching his full potential. Here’s his story.

In the June 28 episode, Naezy was seen talking to Sana Makbul, Ranvir Shorey, and Armaan Malik. The rapper recounted, “A movie was being made about me, and I was poised to become very powerful. During this period, I suddenly disappeared.”

He explained that his sudden absence raised concerns among his associates, who were constantly questioning his whereabouts during the filming of Gully Boy. Ranvir Shorey, intrigued by the story, asked Naezy where he had been.

Naezy responded, “They took me inside the prison. Because I was on the verge of becoming bigger and more powerful, those who were envious within the system decided to target me.”

He further elaborated that numerous allegations were made against him, resulting in a year-long imprisonment. Naezy revealed that during this time, neither his parents nor anyone else knew his location.

Later, in discussions with his housemates, Naved addressed rumors about his supposed stay in Dubai during this challenging phase of his life. He also spoke about the emotional response from his fans upon his return. Reflecting on the incident’s adverse impact on his career, Naezy stated, “My life was spoiled after that one incident. I could not reach that peak again in my career.”

For those unfamiliar, Gully Boy is inspired by the lives of Indian street rappers DIVINE and Naezy. Directed by Zoya Akhtar, the film stars Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, and Siddhant Chaturvedi in lead roles.
