Nakuul Mehta’s powerful scene in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2 earns him praise as the New Age Feminist

In the recent storyline of “Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2,” Nakuul Mehta, portraying the character of Ram Kapoor, delivered a powerful scene that resonated with viewers. In the scene, the media questioned Ram about his wife Priya’s whereabouts, as she was seen with another man. Ram took a firm stand for Priya and passionately educated the media about the harmful impact of projecting derogatory ideologies based on a simple picture. Fans were deeply moved by this portrayal and have now hailed Nakuul Mehta as the new age feminist.

One user applauded the actor, stating, “This needed to be said. I am glad we could address this issue on our show. Thank you, @NakuulMehta, for your exceptional performance as always. It’s heartening to witness you own this incredible feminist character. The world needs more men like Ram Kapoor. #BadeAchheLagteHain3.”

Take a look at the scene:

Nakuul wrote, “Ever so often Indian TV gets blanket labelled as regressive or not doing enough to move away from the low-hanging fruit in telling stories. Whilst some of it is valid criticism & we have only devolved from the wonderful television and storytelling in the 80s & 90s. However, every once in a while a well-meaning & discerning writer & creator, and I promise you there are quite a few in the industry, have used this wonderful medium of mass reach to address issues and themes which have the potential to spark conversations and dialogues in our homes & families.”

He further added, “As artists, we often get way more credit than we rightfully deserve. Whilst I for one feel infinitely fortunate to have the opportunity to give life & breath to some of these conversations through the characters I get to play on-screen…one mustn’t forget the conversation itself and the gentle nudge they provide to society which is deeply entrenched in PATRIARCHY and so often in lieu of entertainment, one is able to leave their audiences with so much more…”

Nakuul also thanked the makers for bringing up such a sensitive topic, “Fortunate to be part of a team that brings some of these conversations to our homes and dining tables on a regular basis.”
