Namita Thapar has garnered a significant fanbase following her role as a judge on Shark Tank India. With her rising fame, she has also faced criticism, particularly regarding her inherited business and balancing her family duties with her entrepreneurial pursuits. In her latest appearance on the Karishma Tanna podcast, Namita discussed the challenges she faces while managing her professional and personal life.
During the podcast, Namita revealed the harsh comments she receives every time she tries to strike a balance between family life and work commitments. She reflected on the societal pressures that working women often endure, highlighting the lack of balance she experiences.
“When I prioritize my work, my kids and many other family members hate me for it. So there’s a lot of hate, there’s a lot you have to deal with,” Namita shared. She further explained, “When I prioritize my family at times, I’ve been taunted as she’s doing it part-time. I just took off for two hours to attend a PTA meeting. That’s not part-time. So, there’s no balance.”
Namita elaborated on her approach to handling these challenges: “You just have to wake up every morning, make your to-do list, be at peace with what you’ve decided and get on with life.”
Addressing the criticism of being labeled a ‘nepo kid’ due to her inherited business, Namita mentioned that she views it as a learning experience that helps her evolve as a person.
Namita Thapar is a prominent figure in the pharmaceutical industry, serving as the executive director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals Limited, a company founded by her father. Her strategic vision has significantly contributed to the global growth and success of the company. In addition, Namita founded Incredible Ventures Limited in 2017, an education company aimed at teaching entrepreneurship to 11 to 18-year-olds. Earlier this year, she made a glamorous debut at the prestigious Cannes Festival.
Namita’s role on Shark Tank India has brought her immense fame and recognition. She joined the show as a judge in 2021 and has become one of the most popular sharks on the show. She last appeared on Shark Tank India 3.
On the personal front, Namita Thapar is married to Vikas Thapar, and the couple has twin sons named Vir Thapar and Jai Thapar.
