Netflix Renews Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “Heeramandi” for an Exciting Second Season

The announcement video, shared in a collaborative post by Bhansali Productions and Netflix India, officially confirmed the arrival of the second season. The video showcased a group of girls performing a medley of songs from the series, accompanied by a captivating voiceover: “Hum chaand hain, jo dikhta hai khidki se magar kabhi kisi ke baramde mein utarta nahi” (We are the moon, which is visible from the window but never lands on anyone’s verandah).

Following the announcement, fans, netizens, and cast members flooded the comment sections with expressions of joy and anticipation. Shruti Sharma commented, “Woaahhh super excited,” while Bigg Boss 8 fame Sushant Divgikr exclaimed, “This is absolutely amazing. GOOSEBUMPS!!!!!”

In an interview with Variety, Sanjay Leela Bhansali revealed that the second season will delve into the lives of the women of Heeramandi as they transition into the world of cinema. Post-partition, they will leave Lahore and are likely to explore the film industries of Mumbai or Kolkata.

For those unfamiliar, the first season of “Heeramandi” featured an ensemble cast including Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Sharmin Segal, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sanjeeda Shaikh, and Richa Chadha as the lead characters.
