Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia became a household name with his role as Meher in Choti Sarrdaarni. The show also marked her debut as an actress on the small screen. Nimrit, however decided to quit the show last month and move on.
The actress talked about it in a recent interview and shared, “It was a great journey. Choti Sarrdaarni (CS) will always be my baby because this was the first set I ever stepped foot on. But with time and other factors in mind, I realized that change is the only constant.”
Nimrit complained of chronic fatigue, anxiety, and burnout in February 2021. When asked if she quit the show owing to health issues, she replied, “Yes. I feel the medium we are a part of requires a certain kind of commitment. I have faced different situations, constantly pushed myself, and given more than 100 percent while shooting. But sometimes in life, it becomes important to choose yourself and your well-being. I have spent three years on the set and I wish I could have continued, but that wouldn’t have been fair to myself. I needed to take time off.”
She added, “The past year when I realized that I have been going through chronic fatigue, burnout, signs of anxiety, and stress has been a journey on a personal level. I am in a better position to understand, make an informed choice today and introduce some changes in my lifestyle. Health is a priority, but it isn’t just limited to the physical aspect of it but mental and emotional as well.”
Talking about the importance of indulging in different activities for emotional well-being and growth. The actress shared, “It’s important to constantly be in situations or environments that challenge you and not let monotony set in. I am someone who loves taking up challenges and being in different environments. I don’t want to become complacent and don’t want to feel that the fire or drive in me is lacking at any point.”
When asked about her future plans, she says, “What I am looking at in the near future is taking some time off and investing some time in myself, and after that exploring newer avenues. I want to be that actor who is everywhere. I would love to be a part of all the mediums in some way or the other.”
