Nora Fatehi’s Dance Controversy Sparks Debate on Family-Friendly Entertainment

Nora Fatehi’s recent appearance on the dance reality show ‘Dance Plus Pro’ stirred up controversy as her performance, featuring twerking moves, received backlash from viewers. Despite her status as a special guest on the show, her dance routine sparked criticism for its alleged unsuitability for a program aimed at family audiences.

In a video circulating across social media platforms, Nora Fatehi is depicted performing her hit song “Naach Meri Rani” on the reality show’s stage. Adorned in a metallic, form-fitting cutout dress accentuating her figure, Nora surprised both the audience and judges with her incorporation of twerking and the act of pouring water on her hips during the performance. These dance moves prompted concerns among netizens, who labeled them as ‘inappropriate’ and ‘crass’.

Commentary flooding the video’s comment section reflected viewers’ disapproval, with one user expressing, “What happened to the family-friendly environment?” Another criticized, “Not acceptable…not everything everywhere needs to be sensualized.” A third user condemned the performance as “vulgar, obscene, and pathetic,” while another drew a comparison to controversial figures, stating, “Nora has become cheap, just like Rakhi Sawant.”

The inclusion of Remo D’Souza, a prominent figure in Indian dance, joining Nora and others to dance on the song ‘Garmi,’ further intensified the debate. Notably, the judging panel of the show comprises Remo D’Souza, Shakti Mohan, Punit Pathak, and Raghav Juyal, and this season of Dance Plus aims to showcase the diverse intricacies of Indian dance styles.
