Very often do we come across instances where FIR gets filed against popular faces of TV. Now an FIR has been filed at Amboli police station against Munmun Dutta for her casteist remark in a video she posted online. Munmun plays Babita Iyer in the popular Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah show.
As per the reports in TOI, a labour contractor Naresh Bohit has filed a complaint after he watched a video of the actress using the word ‘Bhangi’ which is an insult to their community. The vid went viral a few days ago and the actress in the video had said “Main Bhangi nahi dikhna chahti hoon” which was very offensive that forced him to take action against her.
DCP Chaitanya, spokesperson for Mumbai police said, “FIR registered at Amboli PS u/s 295A IPC, u/s 3 of Prevention of Atrocities against SC/ST Act on 26 May. Investigation is going on.”
A similar complaint was filed against the actress in Indore under the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act and the complaint there too said that Dutta had used a racist word in her video that hurt the sentiments of the Schedule caste community especially the Valmiki community.
Another complaint was filed in Haryana too after her remarks against a particular community irked people. She has however apologized for her mistake but FIrs are still in action.
