Pankit Thakker on his track coming to an end in Janam Janam Ka Saath

Actor Pankit Thakker, who is currently essaying the role of Kunwar Sa in the TV show Janam Janam Ka Saath,  has wrapped up shooting. The actor talked about it in a recent interview and shared that he is now looking forward to new opportunities.

He said, “I wrapped up my shoots for my TV show and looking forward to exploring something very interesting and challenging. As an actor, I believe that playing various characters is an essential part of my craft. It allows me to explore different personalities, emotions, and even physical abilities. That’s why I have always been intrigued by the idea of portraying a character with a physical disability. playing a character with a physical disability has several advantages. It allows me to delve deeper into the intricacies of the condition and understand the challenges that come with it. Moreover, such roles require actors to convey a range of emotions through their physicality and facial expressions, which can be a significant learning experience for me.”

He further added, “Several Bollywood and Hollywood actors have played such characters, and their performances have been nothing short of inspirational. Rani Mukherjee played the role of a blind and deaf woman in “Black,” while Hrithik Roshan portrayed a paraplegic in “Guzaarish.” Both performances were lauded by critics and audiences alike, and they proved that actors can successfully represent these characters without stigma. In Hollywood, Tom Hanks’ portrayal of a man with a developmental disability in “Forrest Gump” is a classic example of how an actor can tell a powerful and heartwarming story with conviction even when dealing with a sensitive subject.”

“In addition to the personal growth aspects of playing such a role, it can help break down the stigma surrounding physical disabilities. By portraying a three-dimensional character with varied emotions and thoughts, actors can help deconstruct stereotypes and encourage empathy and understanding. It also portrays a message that even people with disabilities can be strong and capable of overcoming any challenges in life. And who knows, my portrayal of such a character may inspire someone out there who is navigating life with similar challenges,” he concluded.
