Present situation – in Meghalaya, one of the Northeastern state of India
Shivaay, Anika, Mahi and Sahil had their breakfast and gave a good send off to the media…later as planned they spent the rest of the day happily ……
It’s been an year since Shivaay and Anika left Oberoi mansion along with Sahil and Mahi……….the memories were still afresh in both their minds…they did not want to remember the unfortunate day but still they could not forget it too….
After the tiring but happy day all four came back and Anika made Sahil sleep…….
Shivaay and Mahi were in the living room sitting on the couch in their own thoughts….suddenly
Mahi ‘’Shivaay, you are no doubt happy but you still feel incomplete without all of them…don’t you think you should atleast call Om and Rudra ?’’
Shivaay ‘’ I miss them Mahi..i miss Om Rudra Prinku and Dadi a lot…but if I call them they will waste no time in tracking and come here leaving everyone else there…you don’t know in this one year .. how many times I typed their number and didn’t dare to ring it….’’
Mahi ‘’exactly Shivaay…all of them were not at fault…..but you have punished them by making yourself away from them…I get scared whenever the thought of how the Oberoi mansion would be without you now., comes to my mind’’
Shivaay ‘’I hope everything would be fine there …that’s the reason I am not even reading or hearing the business news nowadays’’
Anika came down just then and listened to their conversation……
Anika ‘’Shivaay, but they are your family and you should know about them…it’s high time Shivaay…one day they will reach us.’’
Shivaay ‘’how will they reach us…they will not have a fairest idea where we are currently’’
Anika ‘’Shivaay today media came to our house…did you forget …now it’s a state news of all the north eastern India …it will not take much time to become a national news…what will you do then?’’
Shivaay looked at her in disbelief and stood up
Mahi ‘’what happened Shivaay?’’
Shivaay ‘’I have to stop the media…how the hell could I forget this….this news should not get printed’’’
Anika ‘’fine today you will stop them…how many more times will you stop…it’s waste Shivaay…let time takes it’s time’’
Mahi ‘’I think this discussion will continue if we keep on going…so let’s call it a day….tomorrow we have to attend the award ceremony’’
Shivaay-Anika smiled and said ‘’good night ‘’ to Mahi……….and returned to their room……
Shivaay was disturbed and tensed …Anika understood his condition……Shivaay stood at the window looking at the moon…Anika came and stood behind him and placed her hands on his shoulder…Shivaay turned towards her and looked into her eyes……he had a layer of tears …Anika cupped his face and lifted her foot to place a kiss at his forehead…Shivaay hugged Anika and cried …….he cried his heart out………
Anika ‘’Shivaay what happened?’’
Shivaay ‘’Anika tomorrow is a big day…and on the big day my brothers and Dadi are not with me…I know…I understand that now I am none to them but still they are everything to me….’’
Anika ‘’Shivaay if you are missing them so badly call them here…you and they both will be happy’’
Shivaay ‘’no Anika after what all happened I cannot do so…I have to try harder to control these emotions else one day I will loose ‘’
Anika ‘’this is not a business deal Shivaay…..i know what you have been going through all these days and all this is because of me…and I have this guilt to bear for the lifetime…’’
Shivaay made Anika silent………
Shivaay ‘’not again Anika…you were not at any fault…those who did fault know it better…you were trying for the truth …’’
Anika hugged Shivaay ………..later they moved towards the bed and shivaay rested his head in Anika’s lap………..Anika was brushing his hair ……..
Shivaay ‘’ I still cannot believe we have come this long in a short span’’
Anika ‘’I remember everything Shivaay…every smallest thing…from the day we stepped into this city from Mumbai……….’’

AN YEAR AGO
Shivaay Anika Sahil and Mahi boarded the train to Kolkatta from Mumbai Central station……
Shivaay the Shivaay Singh Oberoi never boarded a train till then…it was new to him……that too in a general compartment….. Lots of people pushing each other for a single seat…placing clothes on the seat to ensure that no o e else takes those seats…..there was a heavy rush…….somehow all four entered into the bogie and thankfully found one lower bearth empty…all four settled…they had two suitcases..one with Sahil and Anika’s clothes and other with Mahi’s clothes…..Mahi and Anika had some money but Shivaay was pennyless……..Shivaay had only one thing within him ….determination to achieve something big to prove someone wrong……after a day and half travel they reached Kolkatta………
Anika ‘’we have reached kolkatta…what next Shivaay?’’
Shivaay ‘’we will not be here …this is practically a well known big city…we will go to some other state…’’ he looked around and saw a poster of Meghalaya tourism ……he tore the poster and said ‘’we will be going to meghalaya.’’
Mahi ‘’what?’’
Shivaay ‘’yes…no one will ever find us out and can even think we will be there’’
Anika ‘’as you say Shivaay…this poster has a bus to Shillong in next half an hour …I think we should leave right away’’
All four took the bus and next day morning landed up in Shillong…all the three days they had their tiresome journey and were hungry…they knew they had to start from the scratch……….
Sahil ‘’jiju…we have come till here but where will we stay ..how will we live?’’
Shivaay knelt down before Sahil and said ‘’’trust me Sahil …I will not make you all suffer for a long time…but for sometime you have to bear…I am sorry sahil’’ he hugged sahil after saying and silently wiped his tears…..
Sahil ‘’ I trust you jiju…I am sorry…I will never ask you this question again’’
Shivaay ‘’that’s okay sahil…you have every right to ask me’’
Mahi ‘’I think we need to first get freshen up and search for a house …probably a smaller house…or’’
Shivaay ‘’or a ‘’
Anika ‘’hut …because we are not left with much money…maximum we can pay a rent of one month apart from food’’
Shivaay ‘’after a month we will be moving to a much better house…I promise’’
Anika –Mahi ‘’we know that’’
They had their lunch and Shivaay-Sahil left to bank………while Anika and Mahi left for house search…both the teams promised each other that they will meet at the same hotel …
Bank was very rush…there was a scarcity of currency notes and people were raged at the bank management……..
Shivaay asked the men what was going on…the man replied
Man ‘’there is a scarcity of currency notes…above that the government has implied rules of supplying a limited amount of currency notes per week…the management is not in a position to give the currency to the limited amount too…’’
Shivaay understood the situation and said ‘’I have a solution for this …but I need to talk to the manager first…if you all allow me then I will go inside and talk to him….’’
Another man ‘’don’t fake..we know you are trying to enter skipping the line…we can’t allow you’’
Shivaay ‘’I don’t have any account here…I came to take loan…there is so much rush that I cannot get in…but now I swear I have a solution for the problem so if allow me I will resolve the issue’’
Finally they allowed ……..Shivaay took Sahil and entered the bank…one of the bank staff saw Shivaay speaking and he informed the bank manager what shivaay said to the crowd….the manger asked the staff to allow Shivaay in his cabin
Manager ‘’please have your seat Mr.?’’
Shivaay ‘’Shivaay..my name is Shivaay’’
Manager ‘’yeah Mr.Shivaay…I got to know you controlled the crowds by saying you have a solution..so what solution are you talking about’’
Shivaay ‘’sir…there is a scarcity of currency notes and there is a limitation too I can understand but managing the crowd is first important thing…so I would suggest you to pay the total amount that a customer can withdraw in a week in a single day……that is if a customer can take a maximum of 15000 rs per week ..pay him the 15000 rs today..this way the customer is aware that he should not come to the bank till next week…….do this for as many customers as you can and the crowd at your bank will reduce gradually and the staff of your bank will be relaxed as well as the crowd ‘’
Manager ‘’this is brilliant….please sit down’’
Manager called his staff and implemented what Shivaay said and soon the problem was getting under control….
Manager ‘’so Mr.Shivaay once again thank you for the solution…I am sure you must have had an objective to visit the bank…how can I help you?’’
Shivaay ‘’I wanted to take a loan’’
Manager ‘’yeah sure…but what guarantee have you brought with you’’
Shivaay ‘’nothing…but I have only trust with me to guarantee you’’
Manager ‘’you seem to be so educated and you are aware that loan is not given on trust…’’
Shivaay ‘’I understand but to give a guarantee…I need money as I am planning to start a business…so I came here to search for possible options’’
Manager ‘’I cannot help you with funding loan…but I can help you in some other way….i donate to many organisations as far as I can…just to fulfil my social responsibilities…but seeing your brainy features I will fund you with a certain amount…..specify me the amount and if I can afford this time instead of charitable organisations I will give it to you’’
Shivaay ‘’thank you for believing me…I want the same amount as you give it for the charity …but I have a condition..in the next two months I will repay you with interest because this charity is routed towards me’’
Manager “’Fine Then and he signed a cheque of rs.25000’’
Shivaay ‘’I am sorry but I don’t have a bank account to encash’’
Manager ‘’okay…wait …’’
He calls his staff member and after sometime the cash is been brought….Manager hands over the cash and shakes hand with Shivaay wishing him all the best.
On the other side Anika and Mahi go in search of house and finally end up with a small house for which they can afford the rent for two months…
Anika pays them money as advance and completes the formalities…….
All four of them meet at the decided place and then head on to the newly rented nest…….
After having a hearty dinner ..they all sit back to discuss which business to start with…….after a lot of brainstorming
Anika ‘’Shivaay open a restaurant….apart from the business you have done you enjoy cooking a lot…’’
Shivaay ‘’but how will I do all alone?’’
Anika ‘’we will help you’’
Mahi ‘’yes Shivaay…you just cook rest all cleaning chopping we will manage’’
Shivaay looks at Anika…
Anika ‘’Shivaay cooking is your passion and you have never done the restaurant business till now…so ‘’
Shivaay ‘’so I will be proved worthy ‘’
Anika ‘’yes…I know you…your hardwork will take you to heights’’
Shivaay ‘’fine…we will start our business day after tomorrow’’
Shivaay Anika Mahi and Sahil started the restaurant business from a small stall they named it as S.A.M.S restaurant-our restaurant, the food prepared by Shivaay was liked by surrounding people…with the word of mouth his small stall became famous in the entire colony…within a month as promised he returned the 25,000rs with two months interest to the bank manager…….
He made profits for two more months using culinary and business skills and bought a small canteen in prime locality of shilling…sooner all the four saw success and in a span of three months….5 moths passed by and S.A.M.S restaurant was a big name…Shivaay had used every possible business trick to grow the business very fastly…his previous experience made it easy…in a year he spread it to all the capital cities of seven states as a franchaise….
For Shivaay this couldn’t have been possible without the help of Mahi and Anika….during free time or when customers were less he educated Mahi over how to run a business…Anika on the other hands started taking up small time event managements and she slowly moved towards handling bigger event managements…they ensured Sahil’s education doesn’t stop..so they used to send Sahil to school daily….Sahil was the relief for them from the tiring day …his cute antics and chatur words became the entertainment…they gave up all luxuries to reach the point where they were today…what helped them was Shillong was not as expensive as Mumbai………..

Anika smiled after coming out of the flashback……….Shivaay looked at her happily………
Shivaay ‘’we crossed this struggling phase somehow but ….’’
Anika ‘’but what Shivaay?’’
Shivaay ‘’nothing Anika’’
Anika ‘’nothing is hidden from me so why don’t you speak out Shivaay’’
Shivaay ‘’we crossed this struggling phase somehow but I can never forget that day anytime in my life….when we came here leaving everything behind…literally everything’’
Anika ‘’one day everything will get proper Shivaay…I have that trust’’
Shivaay ‘’and I have the trust on your trust’’
They both slept to wake up for the big day……..

Tej came back from office and shouted ‘’Omkara…Omkara…where the hell are you?’’
Omkara came down listening to Tej’s voice
Om ‘’I am here …yes you are right this is a hell and mind you ..you are also lioving in the same hell Mr.Teh Singh Oberoi’’
Tej ‘’Just shut up….you did forget all the respect of talking to your elders’’
Om ‘’You forced me Mr.tej’’
Jhanvi ‘’will someone let me know what’s happening’’
Om ‘’mom…your husband has gone mad…he is shouting like he lost everything’’
Tej ‘’yes…yes we are loosing everything …I thought God has gifted me two sons..but I was wrong God has gifted me with tow stupid brainless good-for-nothing creatures’’
Rudra stepped in then
Tej turned towards Rudra and said ‘’you were only missing…come join here’’
Rudra ‘’what happned papa?’’
Tej ‘’what will happen…I thougth after Shivaay’s exit you both will handle business properly…but no…you both have made all possible efforts to close this business..the once top Oberoi Industries in stock market has no listing in stcoks today…all credits to both my sons…I feel ashamed to call you as my blood’’
Om ‘’ohh so this is bothering you…I forgot money, extra marital affairs and lavishness is prmary for you than family affection and love…and if you loose in any of your priorities you are bound to go mad’’
Tej ‘’shut up Omkara…do you even know where will we go if this business continues to be in losses….we will be left with nothing…damn it…nothing….’’
Omkara ‘’I said you from the beginning that I am not interested in business and you forced me , now bear the fruits of your doings…I don’t care what will happen in future’’
Rudra ‘’dad I am trying to know everything but I am unable to….’’
Tej ‘’I don’t have hopes from my elder son…but you …how many more years would you need to learn , how to run a business…in all these years of stay had you learnt that from Shivaay today I wouldn’t have said this to you’’
Shakthi ‘’why do you bring Shivaay into this…he doesn’t stay here anymore…he left…and he left because of’’
Shakthi couldn’t continue anymore……….
Tej ‘’this is my family matter so you better stay out of it Shakthi…I warn you’’
Shakthi left from there ……….
Tej turned towards OmRu…I am giving you one month more…turn the tables and get the business back to it’s position otherwise we will have to face the worst phase of our lives…….

Shakthi entered and placed his bag on the table and sat down on the couch in a huff………Pinky bought water for him but shakthi threw the glass away
Shakthi ‘’why do you even come infront of me…my heart burns seeing you before me…I can’t even tell you how much I hate you after what you have done’’
Pinky ‘’I did a sin and I am repenting for it from past one year…why do you kill me with your words even more?’’
Shakthi ‘’ýou have made my life and our son’s life hell…do you understand…we despite of having a son has no one today…you stooped so low that…cha…I don’t even want to speak about it…for the crimne you committed the happiness of this house left …everyone is getting punished’’
Pinky ‘’am I the only one to do this mistake…was it not ‘’
Shakthi ‘’shut up…just shut up…don’t try to blame other when you yourself are at fault’’ he left the room in anger
Pinky sat down crying…………..
