Lock Upp’s first runner-up Payal Rohatgi is all set to tie the knot with her beau Sangram Singh. The couple will get married on July 9 in Agra. The wedding is expected to be a low-key affair with just family and friends in attendance.
During a recent interview with BT, the actress shared that she will also invite her co-contestants from Lock Upp including host Kangana Ranaut.
She said, “Yes, I am inviting my Lock Upp co-contestants to the Mumbai reception. The Delhi reception is on July 14 because the marriage is on July 9th. I will send the invites to everyone because it is a beautiful occasion. Jab main Kangana Ranaut ko invite karungi toh I think everyone from Lock Upp deserves the invitation as I’ve spent close to three months with them. It is up to them if they want to grace the occasion or not but invitations will definitely go to them.”
When asked about inviting her arch-rival Munawar to her wedding, Payal shared, “Yes, the invitation will also go to Munawar Faruqui because I’ve no grudges against him. Yes, sometimes when you stand for a thought process and someone hurts that thought process, I have a right to say that I am not happy with that. I have had differences with him as he tried to earn his livelihood by making fun of my God. As long as he doesn’t do that, I have no grievances with him. As I have differences with ideology not with human beings.”
Talking about the preparation for d day, she added “I am quite calm and just going with the flow. I am concentrating only on the preparations, so I am not getting to sit and think about the wedding. That’s why there are no jitters. I am looking at it as an important day where we will get lots of love and blessings from our elders and fans. The life after marriage remains the same, it’s the sanctity of marriage happening.”
Sangram and Payal will be tying the knot after a relationship for 12 years. “Both the families are very excited because they were the ones who had been waiting for this day for a long time. Both our parents are old and they deserve the happiness to see their children getting married. Every parent wants to see their child married. I think we owe it to them and der aaye par Durust aaye… we are happy that they are happy,” she concluded.
