In the world of television, similarities between storylines are not uncommon, but recent instances of striking resemblances between tracks across different shows have sparked controversy. Shows like “Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai” and “Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin” have drawn attention for their parallel narratives, leading to discussions among viewers.
Last year, fans noted an unusual coincidence when 11 female leads across various channels were portrayed as pregnant simultaneously. This time, it’s the makers of “Teri Meri Doriyaann” who are under scrutiny by fans of “Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.” Viewers, who avidly follow both shows, are taken aback by what they perceive as blatant plagiarism sanctioned by the channel.
The recent track in “Teri Meri Doriyaann” has drawn comparisons to a storyline involving Akshara Goenka Birla from “Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.” In both narratives, the female protagonist faces expulsion from her in-laws’ home following a family tragedy. Strikingly similar sequences unfold as the characters embark on a journey of resilience, finding solace in the companionship of strangers, leading to an unconventional alliance borne out of necessity.
Fans have expressed astonishment at the uncanny resemblance, questioning the integrity of the creative process and raising concerns over the apparent lack of originality. The situation has sparked discussions on platforms like Reddit, where viewers have voiced their dismay over the apparent “copy-paste” approach adopted by the channel.
As scrutiny mounts, audiences await explanations from the makers regarding the alleged replication of storylines. “Teri Meri Doriyaann,” produced by the same production house as “Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin,” finds itself at the center of controversy, raising broader questions about the ethical boundaries within the television industry.
With viewers demanding accountability and transparency, the incident serves as a reminder of the importance of creativity and authenticity in storytelling, urging creators to innovate rather than replicate. As the debate unfolds, the spotlight remains on the industry’s commitment to originality and integrity in crafting compelling narratives.

Great mini article and it’s so true! At the same time, most major plot points of shows have always been copied but I get here the similarities are all too similar here. But now the TMD makers have dug their own grave. If they had shown Sahiba as a successful businessman living single and away from Angad, even if it’s a repeated concept, I don’t think fans would be as upset, and plus it would have made sense in the plot that Sahiba was finally following her dreams and had the space to do so away from the evil Brars. It honestly was so easy to tell that story, but no. I don’t know what drugs these makers are on. But the honest truth is that a lot of people commenting, including myself, don’t watch the show on tv, so we don’t contribute to TRP. I’m assuming actual tv watchers are older people, who may want different things from the show, so makers may want to cater to them. Who knows? Also, I didn’t realize that 11 pregnant characters were on tv shows last year, but it’s no surprise….people, including myself, watch these shows for the chemistry of the leads, romance, and for the characters to have happy families and children, plus accomplish their own dreams – but in this show, none of that has happened except for Sahan’s chemistry, though now I can’t even look at Angad because I am disgusted by his toxicity.
In TMD land Angad is the scapegoat to makers,
Even yrkkh makers copied ghkkpm 1. They started it first so if the PH copied yrkkh it’s no big deal. In fact, all the shows on star plus share striking resemblance.
All shows on star plus copy each other anyway. Its nothing new! Also i think u saw the post from the indian telly talk readdit which claimed Teri Meri Doriyaan was copying YRKH.
Just watched holi promo…Too much disappointed to see Sahiba in a typical traditional behenji look cooking for a new family. Seriously today’s episode gives much disgust for makers..How they have ruined the show which would have otherwise been on the top of the chart. When Seerat was kicked out of brar mansion, she was shown so bold and beautiful (though we hated seerat even than) but with Sahiba they have even spoiled her previous monga look..if makers at all want to copy (because they have lost originality), why can’t they copy some good series. Very Very Very “dukhi” to see new Sahiba and that also without Angad..😞
So, why on earth don’t they have any shame or creativity left to take a leap and separation for the story to move forward.. they have copied the same scenes, too. How can she leave her world behind and accept strangers as her family? She has her beloved parents and sister. Why didn’t she go to them to become successful? She wanted to become an artist, and Angad supported her, too. What happened?? To her dreams?? Why does she need some man to help her raise the child?? Why can’t she do it on her own?? What a lack of creativity these writers/ creative team?? Sahiba is the breadwinner of her family befire family. What happened to all those?? In the name of freshness, why do they bring a whole sum of people showing them as good to be true? What cheap ethics and morals do these writers / creative teams have?
EXACTLY @Chandana! I’m not against a Sahan separation for the moment – Angad was toxic to the max at the funeral and throughout the show. But I’m upset they showed no success for Sahiba and that she had to be supported by a man to raise her child. She didn’t even need to be super wealthy to match the Brars, but at least stable and thriving, so she could show Angad that she was perfectly capable of taking care of their kid by herself. It would have been cute if Akhir was naughty and he went on a mission looking for his dad, and met Simran and others along the way. Stumbled upon Brar mansion and then Sahan met again, but NO. This show is disappointment central.
Um Rajan Shahi is also copying Ghum gen 1 for his YRKKH, no originality and when all else fails he brings in a molester mama
