Colors TV is all set to introduce a new face ‘Surabhi Das’ to the Hindi TV audience with the upcoming show titled ‘Nima Denzongpa’. With Surbhi essaying the lead role of Nima, the show will be based on the struggles of a northeastern girl, who will move from her small village in Sikkim to Mumbai for her love.
Colors TV recently shared the first promo of Nima Denzongpa on its Instagram handle on July 28. In the promo, Surabhi Das can be seen introducing herself as Nima who is about to leave her family and village to pursue her dreams in Mumbai. To her surprise when she reaches Mumbai she is called by different names. There is also a disclaimer given with the promo that says that the channel is trying to eradicate the racial discrimination subjected to people from northeast India.

Surabhi Das also shared the promo on her Instagram handle. She wrote, “This is how destiny works maybe…Presenting Nima Denzongpa front of you all…My Hindi television debut with a powerful show and narrative like ‘Nima Denzongpa’. The story of Nima is not only close to my heart but it is something that I have lived and experienced at some point in my life.”
She further added, “I am grateful that through Nima’s journey, the viewers will get to know the struggles that people of North East India go through as they are subjected to many prejudices and even called names, knowingly or unknowingly. It is an emotional new beginning for me and I hope through this show, we can break many myths and touch million hearts…Need all your blessings and love.”
Surabhi Das is known for her role in popular Assamese TV show Parineeta. Nima Denzongpa is expected to premiere in mid-August on Colors TV
