While millions are already mourning the sad demise of Bharat Ratna and legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar another veteran has taken the heavenly route.
Actor Praveen Kumar Sobti, who rose to fame with the iconic role of Bheem in Mahabharata has passed away at the age of 74. According to the reports, the veteran actor was not keeping well for a while.
Praveen who was always known for his stature was actually a sportsman who hailed from Punjab. Before making it big in the entertainment industry, he was a hammer and discus throw athlete. He was even the recipient of the prestigious Arjuna award along with many others. Due to his achievements in sports, he got the job of Deputy Commandant in the Border Security Force.
Praveen also worked in several movies including Amitabh Bachchan’s Shahenshah where he essayed the role of Mukhtaar Singh.
Praveen also tried his hands in politics and joined Aam Aadmi Party but later switched to Bhartiya Janata Party after losing the assembly elections from Wazirpur in Delhi in 2013.
